Quebec surpasses 10,000 deaths due to COVID-19

A selfless long-term care worker. A teenager. A young father. Thousands upon thousands of wives, husbands, grandparents, lovers, partners, friends. On Sunday, Quebec recorded 32 more deaths from COVID-19, crossing the grim threshold of 10,000 deaths from the illness caused by the novel coronavirus.

The first Quebecer known to have died of COVID-19 was 82-year-old Mariette Tremblay, who left behind 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren on March 18. The first Montrealer to die of the disease was a 67-year-old Hassidic man, whose rapid deterioration only three days after testing positive shocked the tight-knit community. The first long-term care home worker to fall victim to COVID-19 was 64-year-old Victoria Salvan, who worked long, gruelling hours to put her children through school. But as the death toll continued to climb higher, the details of the lives lost dropped from public view.

During the first wave, Premier François Legault began his daily news conferences by informing the country of how many people had died in the previous 24 hours. "On behalf of all Quebecers, I want to offer my sympathies," he said, day after day. The daily death toll now rarely earns a mention at his news conferences. "It's like we've almost become numb to the daily numbers," said Dr. Christopher Labos, a Montreal epidemiologist and cardiologist.

In recent days, several grieving families have shared their thoughts with news outlets on what losing loved ones to COVID-19 has been like. Their emails were often a mix of sadness and anger. Some demanded accountability, be it from hospitals or long-term care facilities where the virus was contracted, or from governments for their handling of the pandemic. "Hold them accountable to their words and actions, which are extremely lacking and disorganized in these difficult times, putting lives in danger," said one writer who lost three members of their family to COVID-19. Others focused on the pain of being unable to comfort dying relatives, who were treated in special hospital units where no visitors are allowed. "We lost my stepdad. He was 69," said one email. "Atrocious way to die. Alone. Atrocious for the loved ones. Not to be there. Not to see the person we love." Stephen Amadori last saw his wife, Christine, on Christmas Day. It was on a Zoom call set up by staff at Lakeshore General Hospital, in Pointe-Claire, Que. She was intubated and in and out of consciousness but the nurses, Amadori said, were convinced she knew she was speaking to her husband and two children. She died four days later. Amadori hopes to have a memorial for his wife in May, when restrictions on gatherings are lifted. "Let's face it, we're not alone," he said. "There are thousands of people going through this."

Legault has routinely sought to minimize the death toll by drawing comparisons to other countries that have fared even worse, especially the United States. Government officials have also emphasized Quebec's slightly different method for counting COVID-19 deaths. Unlike many jurisdictions, which depend on a positive COVID-19 test to attribute a death to the disease, Quebec also uses epidemiological data to establish its death toll. Officials in Quebec argue this offers a more accurate portrait of how many people are dying from the disease, and note other countries will likely revise their figures upward when they've had a chance to scrutinize their data.

The first weeks of the pandemic were especially deadly in Quebec. Less than 90 days after Tremblay died, Quebec recorded its 5,000th death. The vast majority of these deaths — more than 60 per cent, according to government figures — occurred in long-term care homes. Of those who died in the first wave, 92 per cent were over 70 years old. Legault has resisted calls to strike a public inquiry, but it's widely believed that shortages of personal protective equipment and infected staff working at different facilities contributed to spreading the virus throughout the network. Conditions in the network deteriorated quickly in the first wave as thousands of health-care workers were infected. Many families of patients said they were being left unattended for hours, even days, sometimes dying in their own filth. "The situation in Quebec, and Montreal specifically, was very, very bad," Labos said. "The human cost of the pandemic is huge."

By the summer, infection rates declined and Legault quickly eased restrictions in most sectors of the economy. But the virus was still circulating in the community, and in the fall deaths began to spike again. "Unless we can significantly change how we approach this virus in terms of degree of lockdown restrictions we put in place — unless we get the numbers down to zero — the virus is not going to go away," said Labos. Elderly Quebecers remain the primary victims of the disease, though the government-run long-term care network has held up better this time, thanks in part to a huge influx of new staff added ahead of the second wave.

Hospitals have also developed more effective ways of treating COVID-19 patients. In the spring, around 14 per cent of those who tested positive for the disease died. That number was down to one per cent by the summer. But as the pandemic drags on, it is likely claiming more victims indirectly. Psychological problems, economic hardships, delayed surgeries are all expected to affect people's health, potentially reducing life spans, said Bignami. "It will likely be years before we can measure the full impact," she said. At a news conference last month, Legault announced that a ceremony will be held on March 11 to honour the lives lost to COVID-19. "We want the whole nation of Quebec to offer its condolences to the families and loved ones who lost someone too soon," he said.

| SAVAK Headquarters, Tehran |

| Cold, steel-like and extremely unwelcoming the infamous SAVAK headquarters brought fear upon whoever was to step inside. Formed by Empress Farah in 1959 to secure her position, SAVAK ever since has brought fear upon thousands and found itself as one of the most efficient spy organisations in the world. During the 1960s, it was a tool in Farah's hands to remove any opposition and to keep many in fear. During the 1970s it was used as an intelligence organisation against the Arab states. In the 1980s it was used to control the situation within the country's universities. In 1990s it reformed itself from within and became linked with the Iranian Monarchy. Now, it is one of the most powerful organisations within Iran and the world.

Now led by Mahrini Ezvakti. The sixty-year old leading commander of SAVAK is one that is known for being effectively dangerous. Linked with former Empress Farah, Ezvakti is one of the very few people in the country that has complete access to the situation within the politics, monarchy and the Iran's international business. To the public she is barely known but to the insides of Iran she is a dangerous figure. To this dangerous figure did Prince Leon come for aid. Sitting in her small cold office, with a cup of tea in front of him, he looked around at the pictures of those who were before her. On the wall was the picture of the Empress, to whom SAVAK was loyal. After a few moments, Ezvakti entered the room. Wearing a black skirt, black blazer and her hair in pristine shape, she would bow her head slightly before taking a seat. |

[ Mahrini Ezvakti ]: "Your Highness. It took us two days, but we have gathered all the information."

[ Prince Leon Diba ]: "And? What did you find?"

[ Mahrini Ezvakti ]: "Nassfer does in fact have the information she threatened the Empress with. The information comes from Sanna Bahtikar, the former aid to Princess Cherlynn. The two split their ways in 2019 after Shah Sandan stepped down from the throne. I believe that Nassfer will leak that information sooner than later."

[ Prince Leon Diba ]: "Why are you so sure?"

[ Mahrini Ezvakti ]: "Nassfer fundemental plan is to change Iran, Your Highness. She's an abolitionist at heart. Her husband, Rajavi Nassfer, belongs to the Tehrani Technocrat Club which has heavy links with abolitionist movements. Nassfer, during the 1980s, belonged to the Tehran Elites Society, a group which we disbanded in 1996 due to their revolutionary ways against the Monarchy. You have an aboliosnist in the most powerful seat in the country. You're in danger."

[ Prince Leon Diba ]: "What...what is it that you propose then?"

[ Mahrini Ezvakti ]: "We have a special code and protocol for individuals like Nassfer. It's the Soraya Code. Named after Queen Soraya, the first to go that way."

[ Prince Leon Diba ]: "What happened to her?"

    [ Mahrini Ezvakti ]: "A car crash."

| Looking away for a moment, Leon understood exactly what the code would bring. |

[ Prince Leon Diba ]: "What would it take for such code to be enacted?"

[ Mahrini Ezvakti ]: "My approval and the approval of Her Majesty."

[ Prince Leon Diba ]: "It can't be hers, Mrs Ezvakti. She's too weak...too sympathetic for this. Compassionate. At times like these compassion has very little to do with it. Let me sign it."

| Looking at him for a moment, she would take a breath before looking above him and back at him. |

[ Prince Leon Diba ]: "You said she's dangerous. She is a danger to the monarchy and therefore to Iran. If, if this leaks out. All that information, we're doomed. The Dynasty falls. Iran falls. You fall. I come to you, as you're the only person who is able to save the Dynasty, save the Iran before it's too late. So please, take my signature as the Empress's agreement, I am her husband. The Prince of Iran. I may be just a symbol but at times like these I am the decision-maker."

| Looking at his conviction, she would breath heavily again before taking out a piece of document. Passing it over to him, she would hand him a bright red pen. |

[ Mahrini Ezvakti ]: "Sign here."

| The Prince would sign it slowly before passing the document and the pen to her. After looking at the portrait of the Empress for a moment, she would sign it as well. |

[ Mahrini Ezvakti ]: "Soraya Code has been enacted. Based on the signatures, SAVAK has all the rights to enact the Soraya Protocol upon Shamira Nassfer. Anyone...is a side casualty. Your Highness."

| She would stand up and bow as the Prince stood up and nodded. After a moment, he would release a slight smile and leave off. He would leave off. Ezvakti would look at the document for a moment before taking it through and leaving off with only the sounds of her high heels coming through. |

If you don’t want to do it the right way we just won’t recognize this as canon.

This happened in early October, before your troops were stationed in and around N'djamina...I was late to get the RP out. Mesuvia agreed for the sake of the RP to stop the Chinese jet before it even reached Chad airspace. This has all been planned ahead of time, and is central to the upcoming RPs in this series. I and OsivoIII have a lot planned, but if it upsets you too much, I can cancel the entire RP series.

If there's any more problems you have, please telegram or DM me instead.

History brought back
Ἔφεσος/Ἁλικαρνασσός
November/Νοέμβριος

After 2 years of planning and construction, the two ancient wonders of the world were built in full size and fully restored to their original specifications. Firstly in Ag. Theologos, the Temple of Artemis was constructed south of the road that the original temple was built and given ample space for a small boutique restaurant serving Greek foods from that area. President Manos Traiforos of the Smyrna Autonomous Republic was given control of the project at the very end due to the recent formalisation of the ARs. The temple also had a smaller annex building built to accommodate those who still worship the Greek Dodecantheon. While down south in Halicarnassus, President Traiforos opened the Mausoleum for Mausolus and Artemisia II of Caria. That one had a small seafood restaurant. President Traiforos sent the notices to UNESCO as well to get them included in the original site listings under an educational and cultural expansion of the site. Great care was also ensured to not damage or touch the original ruins but people were slowly redirected towards the new full scale replicas of them and the original ruins closed off and granted to archaeologists and cultural anthropologists and other historians along with Dodecantheonists. President Traiforos was congratulated by PM Akar on the projects and was notified of the PMs intent to visit soon. President Traiforos also desired to rebuild many Byzantine sites and fully rehellenise his AR.

Arab National Union Makes Sweeping Gains, Khalil Cements Power
Baghdad, Republic of Iraq
October 2022

October 27
The snap elections were a busy time for Iraq. Since the arrest of Nasrallah on the 19th, the country has been a flurry of activity both politically and socially. As soon as snap elections were announced, the politically active of the country mobilized. Both the streets and social media were flooded with support from all sides as Parties and Candidates scrambled to campaign in the short time periods before elections were prepared. In public addresses, Khalil emphasized the importance of political unity, decrying the DCI as stagnant and ideologically vacant. He accused them of sullying the name of the original Democratic Council, and pinned the corruption of Nasrallah and his Ministers on the party's enablement. The rhetoric inflamed Parliamentary tensions and even as the DCI denounced Khalil for his polarization, the cracks were beginning to show as campaigns marched forwards.

Utilizing its young and digital voting base, the Arab National Union was strikingly effectived, and clearly prepared. Social media hashtags and activity promoted events, and many ANU internet influencers took a page from the Paramerican MAGA book, and live-streamed commentaries from rallies, marches, and demonstrations. Khalil himself was hardly in the office since declaring the elections, making appearances at over a dozen rallies in five days, promoting ANU candidates across Iraq. University students and young workers skipped their obligations en masse, demonstrating and marching for the ANU. They railed against what they saw as the stagnance of the DCI, criticizing the lack of effective action on the economy and rebuilding. Graduated students criticized the lack of jobs and opportunities, and business owners called for increased subsidies, most of which was ending up in the hands of Iraq’s largest corporations, or even foreign corporations operating in Iraq.

This activity was made all the more effective by the strategy of the DCI, or lack thereof. Politically diverse and already under much scrutiny, the DCI lacked a clear foothold. And the scandal only deepened their trouble. Instead, they had to rely on the ambiguous rhetoric of ‘reliability', “steady leadership”, and the call backs to the Civil War that was quickly becoming stale to voters. Nasrallah and his Council of Ministers had been perceived as the DCI’s A-team and with half of them in prisons, they had to scramble to find new names to rally behind. The effects of decline were further exacerbated by the internal fracturing of the DCI itself. A great many saw the writing on the wall and had publicly switched sides, declaring themselves for the ANU or other parties.

Other secondary parties, like the Kurdish Democratic Party, Islamic Brotherhood Party, baathist Arab Socialist Party, and the national conservative Victory Alliance, did better, biting at the carcass of the DCI while the ANU feasted. One especially fateful decision was made however. In the June 2022 Basra Accords, it was agreed southern rebel militias would organize into the Popular Mobilization Front and subordinate themselves to the military. In exchange, the Nasrallah Administration promised them 26 guaranteed seats in the National Assembly. The decision was controversial at the time, but most were happy to end the violence in the south. In the time since, the taste of militant seats in the Assembly had soured to many Iraqis. In a public address, Prime Minister Khalil confirmed the new seats would not be added in the snap elections. He did not say whether not he intended to have them added in March, or whether he would attempt to renege on the treaty. The effects of the decision are still to be felt, as militia leaders expressed their displeasure on social media and in public.

On October 27th, Iraq went to the voting booth. Live coverage was not as comprehensive as other countries due to the lack of electronic voting equipment, and as such early estimates of victory were imprecise. Even then, the outcome was already expected by most Iraqis. By the morning of the 30th, every major news source had called it: the Arab National Union had won big. Of the 306 National Assembly seats, the ANU now held 157. The KDP came in second, holding its previous 42 seats. The Victory Alliance took 40. Utterly broken, the DCI was left with just 28 seats. The Islamic Brotherhood took 21 and the Arab Socialist Party took 12. The remaining 6 seats went to independent candidates. With even a slim majority, the ANU now had total control of the Iraqi National Assembly.

Zahir Khalil now held executive power in the Republic of Iraq. With the President and Assembly on his side, the reforms and policies he espoused would flow freely. The pan-arab sentiments that had waxed and waned across the Middle East for a century had a new foothold in Baghdad. But far from the one-party states and strongmen of the UAR, Khalil had gained and power democratically and publicly intended to rule as such. Realist diplomacy would guide Iraq through the world. Western values and Iranian liberalism would refract through the lens of Arab nationalism, enticing a new generation of Arab the region over. New times were upon Iraq, but what would they bring?

      VTH REPUBLIC | PARIS, 2022

    | HELM OF SÈCURITÈ, MINISTÈRE DES FORCES ARMÉES - | Intelligence concerning the ISFC and AAFC has come in detailing their positioning in and around the cities of Biltine and Abéché. Their presence in these areas has prompted the French Forces to conduct a series of airstrikes on both cities. At 0700 AM 10 Rafale fighter jets would takeoff from the FNS Napoleon aircraft carrier and enter Chadian airspace, heading toward both cities. Another 10 Rafales would takeoff from the main airport in N’Djamena and proceed to link up with the carrier flight group. A total of 7 fighters would fly toward Biltine while the remaining 13 would fly toward Abéché. As the fighters came in on approach towards both Biltine and Abéché, they would make a few passes over, breaking the sound barrier and creating sonic booms, signifying their presence. The sortes would circle back around and engage ground targets with a series of AASM Hammer air-to-surface missiles and GBU-24 Paveway III laser-guided bombs. Upon expending all their ordinance, the fighters would circle back and head towards the airport in N’Djamena to refuel and reload ammunition. They would fly this same mission for a period of 24 hours, swapping out pilots every 2 hours and raining fire and fury down on the cities below. |

          | Moving through the Palace, the man smiled as gazed at the walls and decorations, remarkable familar, yet so different. It had been many years since he'd been in the Palace itself, Jung-hee smirked. Two guards noticed him walking through the corridors, walking over to him they'd stop, their expressions were ones of confusion and shock. A man they hadn't seen in years, one many assumed had run off with former Shah of Iran, Sandan. |

Prince Jung-hee: "Hello boys, miss me?"

          | It was about ten minutes later when King Daeshim was in the family living quaters wearing a burgandy hoodie and sweatpants, coffee in hand, looking across the living room at his older brother. His brother was perched on the back of the sofa smile on his face. |

Prince Jung-hee: "Come on Key, you know you've missed me. Why do you look so angry that I dropped by to say hello?"

King Daeshim: "Angry? You dropped off the face of the Earth completely! A message would have been appreciated, I couldn't even get in contact with Sandan! You waltz back into the Palace, using the secret tunnels by-passing security and you expect me to be happy?"

            Prince Jung-hee: "Well, yes."

King Daeshim: "Well, well. . . give me a hug you massive idiot"

          | The two brothers hugged after the coffee was ditched on a nearby sidetable, despite the span of time the two had been separated it felt like he'd never been gone at all. They spent the evening discussing their stories from the past couple of years, the King spoke about rebuilding Korea and his marriage to Princess Kako, and introducing her to his brother. While Jung-hee spoke of his travels with Sandan around the world, well disgiused and what happened following his abdication. Refusing to say whether Sandan was with him for now, the family felt reunited at last. The news of the Prince's return would be kept tight lipped for now with the ongoing situation in Iran, all parties had a hunch such news could affect outcomes in the nation. |

Oui indeed.

What country are you hoping to RP?

IRANIAN LIBERALISM ( PAHLAVISM )

| IRANIAN LIBERALISM, referred to as Pahlavisim or I-Lib, is a political and social doctrine that at it's core believes that freedom of choice and the freedom of an individual is at the front-foot, with a leading authoritive figure being the main protector of said freedoms. I-Libs recognise that the authorities figure has to be the unifying being of the society and cannot trespass onto unbalanced territory. I-Libs show a wide range of views but they generally support free market, free trade, authoritive power figure/s, individual rights, freedom of choice, secularism, equality, freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of religion, nationalism and militarism.

Iranian Liberalism became a distinct movement within Iran during the Farah's Age, when it got promoted by Empress Farah. Iranian Liberalism sought to replace Western Influences, Zoroastrian and Islamic political influences, state religions, backwater mindset, socialism and communism. Ahvan Baykitari is credited as the founding father of Iranian Liberalism, publishing many publications through Tehran University during the late 1930s and 1940s. However, Reza Mahmad is credited for spreading it nationwide due to his close position to Empress Farah Pahlavi.

In Iran the establishment of Iranian Liberalism became the key basis to a major cultural and social revolution, creation of a welfare state, expansion of the Iranian state and creating the Iranian identity. However, as times changed and the challenges for Iranian Liberals became different, a different push was made within Iranian Liberalism. Iranian-Liberalism is heavily opposed to communism, socialism and fascism. Iranian-Liberalism, despite having some evolution throughout decades has mainly remained the same. |

Ahvan Baykitari, 1966

| There are three major figures of Iranian Liberalism who have formed it over the years. Ahvan Baykitari coined such term in his 1939 publication at the Tehran University, where he argued that ...Iranian politics are fundementally influenced by the West, Islam, Zoroastrianism and History...if we are to progress as people we must remove all of those from our political structures..." During that time, much was already done to change the country but in Baykitari account it was a direction of changing Iran to a Westernised Colony rather than a fully realised country. His idea further developed throughout the 1940s during the Shah's dictatorship where Baykitari developed the idea of Iranian Liberalism based on a strong authoritive figure and freedom of choice, Baykitari stated in 1946 "...two subjects that seem on opposite end are actually like water and fire, they need each other...for protection..." Baykitar developed the idea of a political system that would be heavily based around a dictatorship like figure who would grant freedom of choice to it's people and therefore give them all the personal freedoms they deserve.

However, in 1950s democracy came upon Iran through Prime Minister Askamita and the idea of Iranian Liberalism was turned away. Instead, socialism took over. During this time, another prominent figure of Iranian Liberalism came about. During Askamita's time, Socialism was very popular and first welfare fundements were placed. However, many feared that Socialism may grow bigger and there came Aisha Khorsavani. An economist and major proponent of Iranian Liberalism, Khorsavani was fascinated as to how the Iranian economy could be transformed and revolutionised. That is where the Khorsavanism, the economic system of Iranian Liberalism, was formed. Khorsavani argued that in order for the Iranian economy to grow and be competitive, it has to be diversified and has to be left to the private sector. The socialists did the opposite, oil was at frontfoot of exports and the market became restricted.

In accordance to Khorsavani, the market should be deregulated to the bare minimum, in form of quality and tax regulation. All subs towards failing industries and companies stopped. The market should be opened up for foreign companies and Iran should begin major industrialisation process. But most importantly, Khorsavani advocated for the working class and putting them at the front of the economic life of the country. Later on, Khorsavani argued that Iranian companies should be favoured and so they were. When in Empress Farah came to power, Khorsavanism was enacted and led to major three waves of Iranian industrialisation, led to creation of an open free market, led to major foreign investments and trade and led to Iranian economy becoming extremely diversified. ...Khorsavanism brought major prosperity upon Iran, to this day Khorsavanism is the major economic system of Iran, a system that has worked for decades..." |

Aisha Khorsavani, 2013

| Reza Mahmad was a very close adviser to Empress Farah between 1959 and 1976. Mahmad, a major believer of Iranian Liberalism, was Farah's main political adviser and it was him that brought the whole ideology to Her Majesty's attention. What Farah represented at the time was unknown and new, and with that the Iranian Liberalism base found a perfect moment to seize. Mahmad furthered all the major basis of the ideology and Empress Farah accepted them all. Soon enough major implementation began, which led to the beginning of Iranian Liberalism in the country. Mahmad believed that in the fields of diplomacy, the Monarch - the AUTHORIRITVE FIGURE - should be the personification of Iran, the living being of Iran. Due to that, Iranian Liberalism took a new vision on diplomacy. "...diplomacy should be led by a charismatic, beloved and progressive authoritive figure, be it a monarch, a dictator, a President or a General...they should be what the media, the people around the world associate with the country and therefore must be crystal pure..." That form of diplomacy has proven to be very effective over the decades in Iran, and in his book on Iranian Liberalism from 2017, Mashmar Al-Fazir states "...one of the biggest triumphs, if not the biggest of Iranian Liberalism is it's vision of diplomacy...that vision brought Iran to the place it is in right now..." |

| Despite major ideas and figures, Iranian Liberalism was able to come alive and flourish due to certain situations. Accession of Empress Farah to the throne, Sexual Revolution, Sabina Fesri Prime Ministership and the Iranian-Arab War. These four major events allowed Iranian-Liberalism to be ingrained within the political, social and economic system of Iran. Firstly, the accession of Empress Farah to the throne in 1959 brought upon an unknown and fresh figure to the stage. The I-Libs used Empress Farah the same way she used them.

As an inexperienced leader, Farah needed advisers of all sorts, but above all she needed a direction that she could lead the country in. I-Libs seemed like the best optition, the most exciting. Recalling in her memoirs, Empress Farah wrote "...I knew Mahmad through my husband, we met at a couple of parties...when the time came for me to rule I needed someone trusted yet new and fresh to the establishment like me, Mahmad was right there and ready with a whole vision for Iran..." Thanks to Empress Farah, Iranian-Liberalism, or Farahism, has been popularised but most importantly ingrained in the politics and economics of the country. Empress Farah was a major tool in establishing Iranian-Liberalism across the country. She is also the prime-model of the authoritive figure that Iranian-Liberalism requires to work. A figure that is beloved, compassionate, charismatic and authoritive. "...without an effective authoritive figure in place, the whole idea of Iranian-Liberalism crumbles..."

The Sexual Revolution is one that has made history books all around the world. Started in 1962 by Princess Shams Pahlavi after her pictures with a black man were released to the press and her interview was published, the Sexual Revolution began. The Sexual Revolution lasted from 1962 to 1968 and is credited with being one of the major social and cultural revolutions of the 20th century. Islamic and Zoroastrian rhetoric and fear was pushed aside, sexual, cultural and social norms were broken and pushed. Freedom of Choice, which Iranian-Liberalism advocates for, stood at the centre of the revolution. The universities, the youth, the country was reorganising itself completely to match the new freedom of choice mentality. "...it's hard to describe it, you had to live through it...but it was a time where you could do anything and you were applauded for...there was a major sense of love, freedom and desire...you wanted something, well, you did it..."

But the Sexual Revolution also brought economic changes. The Sexual Revolution occurred during the 1st Industrialisation Era of Iran. During the era, Iran found itself with major foreign investments, great new projects, major industrial belts forming and a new working class forming within the community. A working class of prosperity, that suddenly began to afford cars, better home equipment ect. Working class became the front of the Iranian economic life and they were nurtured for like never before. The Sexual Revolution brought upon the social and cultural changes that Iranian-Liberalism advocated for. Freedom of Choice and Major Freedoms were implemented. First Industralisation occurred but even still the Iranian working classes were unsure of the new situation, unlike the middle class and the upper class that enjoyed themselves.

The Prime-Ministership of Sabina Fesri, however, placed the working class as the symbol of Iranian-Liberalism for decades to come. When Sabina Fesri won the 1968 elections after successfully fighting out democracy yet again within Iran, the I-Libs base took a major hit back as a socialist was brought into power by the working classes. Fesri began to change the major economic and political laws brought upon by I-Libs. However, in 1969, Fesri tried a failed coup against the Empress which resulted in her escape to Moscow and the return of a pro I-Lib Prime Minister. But the I-Libs took a major lesson from this, and the working class rights became their major stamp for decades to come through their Workers Constitution which changed the working class in Iran forever and brought them new prosperity during the 2nd and 3rd Industralisation of Iran.

The Iranian-Arab wars that happened between 1960s and 1970s, fuelled the nationalistic part of Iranian-Liberalism, mainly promoted by Elysia Benin, the former Prime Minister. Despite her resignation after the 1972 attack on Persian Gulf States, Benin successfully brought nationalism into Iranian politics and the wars themselves brought it into the Iranian society. Pride of being Iranian formed, and the Iranian identity formed. [u]"...the whole base of I-Libs is that there is only one unified nationality in Iran, that is Iranian and only based on that are people equal and valued...ethnicity and religion has little role to play..." The Arab Wars brought a major sense of Iranian Identity which is a crucial part for Iranian-Liberalism to work. |

Empress Farah, 1962

| In order for Iranian-Liberalism to work, three major components have to be met. Firstly, a beloved authoritive figure has to be in place that will unify it's people and the society, no matter whether it be a figure of a dictatorship, monarch or democracy. Secondly, the national identity takes the lead, not the ethnic, racial or religious background. Thirdly, Freedom of Choice must be given, freedoms must be granted and economic prosperity must be assured for Iranian-Liberalism to fully survive and flourish.

Many of those that praise Iranian-Liberalism point towards it's freedom aspects. I-Libs promote LGBQT, Pro-Choice, Freedom of Choice ect along with protecting and giving prosperity to the working masses of the country. Uniting people through tolerance, openness and freedom is very important. Nationalism, love for the country and militarism also protect the country and it's people from outside threats, whatever they may be.

However, critics of I-Libs determine that the ideology promotes dictatorships, creates inequality within the society, diminishes religious and ethnic minorities, allows for the majority dictatorship and pushes religion aside. Along with that it promotes imperialism and neo-colonialism which cannot be tolerated in today's world.

Whatever the case may be, Iranian-Liberalism to this day remains as the major political, economic and social ideology of Iran and it's variations are starting to appear around the world.|
