The Super Marina, Imperial's Navy Command, have announced today the departure of Naval Task Force for Japan in a series of military exercises with the local forces at the Sasebo naval base. The Japanese Navy is world wide known as a formidable fighting force, with expertise in coastal and overseas operations, somethign that the Roman Navy still lacks. The exchange of expertise between both navies and the logistical efforts for the fleet operation will be a great improvement in the capabilities of the Roman Imperial Navy.

SGRI President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin from the SGRI Executive Office of the Presidency in the State Kremlin Palace officially signed into law a new comprehensive tax code that is intended to spark internal circulation of money while removing remaining financial institutional shackles of the former USSR. In a desire to push SGRI citizens toward further consumer spending and government revenue increases, the new tax code includes relatively low corporate tax rate at 21% with no double taxation of dividend income, a nearly flat 19% income tax rate, a property tax that only taxes the value of land and not the value of building and structures, and a territorial tax system that exempts 100 percent of foreign profits. The tax code further allows for full expensing of capital investments, meaning that when businesses determines its profit, they are able to account for the full cost of capital investment (plant, equipment, structure, etc.) in the year in which it is incurred. With the assistance of Prince Dmitry Putin, the SGRI will only tax distributed profits and at a 21 percent tax rate. This means that if a business in the SGRI earns $100 and pays that $100 to its shareholders, the business would be required to pay a tax of $21 on the distributed profit. Instead, if that business decides to reinvest that $100, the business would not have to pay tax on that $100. As explained by Prince Dmitry:

"This does not mean that the income goes untaxed. Instead, the profit is potentially taxed at the new 21 percent capital gains rate. If the business reinvests its $100 profit, it is probable that the value of the business would increase and, with it, the value of a shareholders shares. If a shareholder were then to sell their shares, they would face the 21 percent capital gains tax rate."

The new SGRI tax code will also provide a 100 percent exemption on all foreign earned income. A historical component of this new tax code is changing the understanding of property tax within SGRI property law. The new law defines the property tax base by only taxing the value of land. This is important because many countries tax both the value of land and any buildings or structures built on top of this information. This, in effect, becomes a tax on capital; if a business builds any new structures or buildings, it will result in a higher property tax bill. Instead, the SGRI’s tax system will now be neutral between land holding and development; furthermore, the SGRI will not levy an estate tax, nor any transfer taxes, wealth taxes, or financial transaction taxes. The goal of this new financial initiative is to correctly define business income and eliminate all the biases against saving investment, which would be a boon to SGRI investment and economic growth.

AUGUST 2022}

Minister of Defense General Sergey Shoygu has announced from the National Defense Management Center in Moscow that the Kremlin has authorized an increase in production of the infamous "Father Of All Bombs", FOAB for short. Each FOAB can detonate with the power of 44 tons' worth of TNT, or with four times the MOAB's yield. (This is more than 1,000 times weaker than the first atomic bomb detonations.) MOABs blow up about six feet above a subterranean target. By not hitting the ground, the bomb avoids wasting energy to form a crater; instead, the energy goes into a powerful shockwave. That shockwave reflects off the ground, recombines with itself at the edges, and forms a doubly powerful "mach stem," which can penetrate deep into the ground, blast through buried structures (like a bunker), and collapse them. Where MOABs mainly try to crush a target, however, FOABs provide a giant one-two-punch of crushing and incinerating.

Unlike the MOAB, the FOAB is a thermobaric weapon, meaning the primary goal is to burn up a target — so it forms a humongous fireball. FOABs accomplish such fiery devastation by surrounding a core of high explosives (which a MOAB is almost entirely made out of) with many tons of fuel. High explosives don't really burn. Instead, they expand very rapidly and generate powerful shockwaves in the process. They're the same materials that surround the core of a nuclear bomb and cause it to implode. Upon detonation in a FOAB, the high explosives rapidly spread out the fuel, helping it burn up as quickly as possible. The explosion can deliver an otherworldy surge of heat to anything within about 1,000 feet and gobbles up most of the oxygen in the blast zone. As General Sergey Shoygu illustrated:

""Everything within that area becomes super-heated to the point that surfaces melt, and the ground takes on an almost moon-like quality. The main destruction is inflicted by an ultrasonic shock wave and an incredibly high temperature. All that is alive merely evaporates. The goal is to achieve the incendiary damage of a nuclear weapon — but without the horrors of long-lived radioactive fallout sprinkling for miles beyond a target."

The National Defense Management Center has revealed that the increased production of the FOAB will be an opportunity for the SGRI to increase its strategic capabilities on the battlefield as information technology continues to integrate SGRI Defense Force operations, telecommunications, and procedures to produce a fully functional, united entity for self defense from all threats. The bulk of the increased production will occur in Serbia, Novorossiya, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Russia while R&D for increased technology and modernization has been designated for El Jadida, Montenegro, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.
