Could you bring whoever built that high speed rail line to Brazil? Ideally I'd want to connect all the major cities toegether aside from Manaus, which i'd create a budget airline to travel there.

There was talks between Brazil and I in 1995 for the BiOceanio to link the Pacific (Santiago or Valpairoso) to the Atlantic (Buenos Aires/Montevideo) and going to Brazil.

We can maybe figure something out and possibly roleplay expansions of the line?

Edit: From one of my roleplays: "The railroads system will be expanded, with an electric high-speed train to link Santiago (Chile) and Buenos Aires (Argentina) as a direct line for passengers, but also merchandises. The biggest investment will be the creation of new tunnels and tracks in the Andes between Chile and Argentina. This new train and line will cost around 4.5B$ in total, the biggest investment in railroad infrastructure of the nation. It is also planned to expand or rehabilitate many lines, like the Salta-Antofagasta railway, the Transandine Railway between Valparaiso and Mendoza, the South Trans-Andean railway linking Lonquimay to Zapala and Osorno to Bariloche. The BiOceanio is being discussed with Brazil (Nonador) as a new rapid and efficient way to link the Pacific and the Atlantic for a better and more inegrated trade of the region and as a way to transport merchandises and people from the Eastern sphere (Pacific) to the Western Sphere (Atlantic). It should allow also a better trade between the two nations and better integrate both nations' ventures for concentrated trade hubs, like the Rio de Silico from La Plata and the equivalent in Brazil."

Nevbrejnovitz wrote:Chile is back in the Union, the Platinan Phoenix is born again...

      May 2015

The agreement signed today by the Chilean President and President Mandrake is the one that formalizes La Plata's return to the height of its power. The phoenix is back, from the ashes it comes back stronger.
The acceptance of the Chilean people to return to the Platinan Federation comes from the economic growth caused by investments during the equalization process, but also from the economic stagnation during the disunity of the peoples of the Southern Cone. The return of Mandrake to power, who had treated the Chilean people well and had reserved a special respect for this disciplined, almost Prussian people, was viewed favourably by the people of Chile. The faith of a strong and united La Plata had returned to their hearts. More strategically and economically, Chile and Argentina were integrated not only economically, but also politically, with the alliance against the aggressor Brazil of the Southern Cone nations. The call of the "Cuatro Pueblos, Una Bandera, Un Presidente" had convinced the most sceptical.

From the day of the signing of the meeting of the peoples of Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, President Mandrake declared the first of May as the "Dios de La Plata", a day of joy and victory in the face of the historic disunity caused by European imperialism. This holiday was celebrated with demonstrations of joy throughout the country. In addition, military parades showing power, the union of peoples under the same banner, but also Platinan know-how were presented.

The parade was held simultaneously in Buenos Aires, Santiago, Montevideo and Asuncion where four parades took place at the same time. There were differences in the parades, with the presence of the Brigada Justicialista or the Mandrakist Youth in Buenos Aires and Montevideo while in Santiago troops in traditional uniforms paraded with the goose-step and the traditional pickelhaube and the stalhelm. The parade in Asuncion, the capital of the Platinan protectorate over Paraguay, saw Paraguayan troops parading in front of the parade in La Plata in their national uniform. Mandrake wanted to keep tensions low and prove that La Plata is a project to unite peoples by celebrating their differences and highlighting similarities. He wanted to demonstrate that the repression of the traditions of the different peoples making up La Plata was non-existent and that the project to unite the peoples was based on a sincere and solid foundation. The various vehicles that made up the Platinan Army followed the infantry battalions, including the "Made in La Plata" vehicles, such as the TAM2, the VCTP UP, the VLEGA Gaucho, the TAMs VCDA and VCLM, the TAMs VCTM, VCA CALA and MRL. Then followed the Air Force vehicles, such as the famous FMA SAIA90, the Pampa or the Pillán. Next came the sea parade off the Chilean coast and the Argentinian-Uruguayan delta where the Flota del Pacífico and the Flota del Atlántico paraded along the coasts and battalions of marines could be seen parading on the decks of the aircraft carriers Plata and Patagonia.
At the end of these glorious military parades of the "Dio de la Victoria de la Unión", President Mandrake made a televised speech to the entire nation:

Dear countrymen, dear citizens, dear people.
It is with immense joy that I am here today to witness this victorious and happy day, which means that the Union has returned to its former glory and is even stronger! It is not three peoples that are celebrating this union today, but four! I welcome again our Chilean brothers and sisters in our union, but I want to properly welcome new citizens of the Union. I greet our dear Paraguayans who are now members of this Union. Their epic was marked by both happy and unhappy events. This strong and proud people deserves our admiration for having kept their identity and pride despite the devastating Guerra de la Triple Alianza which pitted Paraguay against the alliance of the Empire of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. This war killed more than 60% of their population as a result of their fierce resistance, 90% of their males were killed. This war greatly affected Paraguay for decades and the demography of the country never recovered. Then came the Chaco War where Paraguay triumphed over Bolivia and acquired the Chaco Desert. Recently, Paraguay, like Chile, Argentina and Uruguay, has fallen victim to Brazilian voracity. The Treaty of Cruz del Sur put an end to this carnage and, unfortunately, tore apart the State of Paraguay.
However, before the outpourings turn to anyone responsible, I want to remind you that we are all brothers and sisters in South America. Our division is due only to the imperialism and savage colonialism of the metropolises of Europe, which multiplied the geographically incorrect treaties that caused our divisions. Let us not allow the past to disunite us forever, but let us see the future as the hope of finally uniting us and transforming our region into a paradise on Earth, as was foreseen by our colonizers. These same lands attracted our fathers and mothers in the last two centuries as promised lands, rich lands. In the last century, when the world ignored us and left us in poverty, we worked to industrialize by ourselves and become independent economically, again. Then came the dark Operation Condor which was the genocide of South America. In spite of this, we, the peoples of the Southern Cone, triumphed over imperialist interference and rebuilt our countries for the umpteenth time. This time I announce to you, dear citizens: This union is the one that will allow our peoples to achieve the dream of our ancestors, a dream of peace.
So many projects are on the table now, including economic assistance for the development of Platinan Paraguay, the modernization of the army, economic projects for South American integration, projects to bring Platinans and Brazilians together, our space projects, our green shift, our renewed diplomacy, and so many others! I tell you, Platinans, we are entering an era of renewed prosperity.
Cuatro Pueblos, Una Bandera, Un Presidente! This saying will be repeated until our colors are united, from the Easter Islands to the Andes, from the Pampa to the Islas Malvinas!

Mandrake made his distinctive salute: the right fist on his chest, his arm stuck to his body with his forearm bent upwards and his open hand bent slightly backwards. The crowd responded in the same way and shouted "Cuatro Pueblos, Una Bandera, Un Presidente". The delirious crowd shouted this sentence, but some of them could be heard saying : "Las Islas Malvinas son Platino".

Mandrake, proud of the unified nationalism under his yoke, left the stage with confidence. His multiple projects to finally restore La Plata's coat of arms were going well. However, the hardest part was yet to come... [/spoiler]

Bolsonaro congratulates Mandrake and wishes to attend the celebrations in place of Emperor Pedro III. 67% of Brazilians, as of now, have positive views of La Plata and several tens of thousands have purchased La Platean flags.

Benigno Aquino III Plans to Run for Re-Election in Upcoming Election

With the election looming in less than a year, the race has began. Campaign posters began to litter the streets overnight as they were taped, glued or hung at buildings all over the country.

Benigno Aquino III, seeking to serve another 6-year term, states his main reason for reelection is to maintain relations with Nusantara, and weirdly declared a song called Raya Nusantara as the official anthem of Filipino-Nusantaran relations.

He also stated that even though with the Eternal Nusantara Act, there is still a glaring loophole, in which a president can simply coerce Nusantara, to cut the alliance, and that within his 6-year term he plans to annex Sabah.

Benigno Aquino III’s reasoning specifically is the establishment of a land border with Nusantara, mainly for symbolic reasons, but practical reasons are to create alternative trade routes and even a train line.

The Philippine government’s recently formed Bureau of Nusantaran Relations also announced plans for a bridge in conjunction with the Department of Public Works and Highways, with construction expected to start by 2022, and a rail line between Manila and Dagupan.

Results from an October 2015 survey said that 93.6% of the population supported Benigno Aquino III’s re-election, however the president will have to compete against strongly anti-Nusantaran president Rodrigo Duterte, the current mayor of Davao City.

Due to Duterte’s anti-Nusantaran views, he has threatened to cut the funding of Davao Port numerous times to sabotage Nusantaran trade. Analysts predict a catastrophic Filipino retreat from the Nusantaran alliance should Rodrigo Duterte ever win.

Amendments are also planned to the Eternal Nusantara Act to place Davao Port under the control of Manila, preventing any anti-Nusantaran mayor or politician from ruining trade.

Filipino-Nusantaran relations have been strong since 2014, endowing the Philippines with great economic growth, with GDP estimated to reach $1 trillion by 2020, and GDP now at $552.215 billion. Additionally, TV screens across the Philippines now play Javanese music and dramas for anyone who wishes to watch them, which has almost replaced the Filipino obsession with Korean media.

And, there have been projects and proposals to link the two together, such as an undersea cable, a proposed bridge between Zamboanga and Borneo, a proposed proposal to Japan for Sabah to become Filipino territory, and a proposed high speed rail between Manila, Cebu, Davao, Jakarta, Yogyakarta and many more smaller cities in between.

To put it, the Filipino-Nusantaran alliance has been described by Benigno Aquino III as "the right path to take", and has caused massive changes in society, maybe disrupting old traditions? But, relations continue to develop.

Bolsonaro and his family quickly fly to Santiago (to me irl it's nicest of the four), and join in the celebrations. After celebrating, him and his family will fly to Buenos Aires to meet the president of the new La Plata. Emperor Pedro III hears about it and orders the La Platean flag flown next to the Brazilian one in the capital of Brasilia.
