Novan republic wrote:1905 Trotskip Protests and Massacre - Ban of the Communists Leads to Nothing Happening

Following the increase of political violence within the Republic between far-right and far-left demonstrators, the All Novan Party has passed legislation forbidding all Communist and Socialist rallies or events and banned the Novan Communist Party stating that unless fully dissolved by the 20th of June, all communist members will be arrested for involvement in an illegal political organization and face up to 10 years in prison. Far-right demonstrations however are still permitted.

To protest of the banning of the communist party, thousands of Communists and communist sympathizers including those within other left-wing organizations not in support of the government crackdowns gathered in the capital of Trotskip to protest the decision. A now illegal display. In response, the government deployed the national guard to the scene and immediately began to round up and detain the protesters. However, after grabbing ahold of one protester now identified as Akako Kamen, a member of the Tseusonningen Communist Party and potential spy, Mr. Kamen fired upon the soldier killing him instantly. This initial gunshot led to panic amongst the crowd forcing the other armed protesters to open fire upon the national guard surrounding them. After witnessing the first 5 soldiers fall upon being hit, the army began to return fire by shooting blindly into the crowd of mostly unarmed and innocent protesters. The chaos lasted 30 minutes before the sound of consecutive gunfire was replaced by deafening silence. In the end, 6,279 were killed including 29 National Guard members with no surviving protesters from the event. Suspiciously enough, there were no injured.

Following the event, the Government has labeled the incident a failed revolution and stated that although tragic, the deaths were necessary to secure the existence of the Republic and its democracy. All coverage of the incident by non-state media has been banned with the justification being there should be no manipulation of the tragedy for political gain.

Furthermore, an active investigation by the government is underway to uncover the involvement of Tseusonningen in the "Revolution" and uncover its ties to the Novan Communist Party. The Novan Republic has also stated that as of now, the deaths of six thousand Novans are on the hands of the communist state blaming them for the attempted coup and unless proven innocent, the republic and its people intend to return the favor tenfold.

*All International news of the event follow that of the Novan Government*

New rhomania

For the King?

As the wars in Coldonia leave the Rhomanian plains, and her enemies crumble beneath the weight of the Gladian Pact, a great many celebration break out, with a week of festivities to be held in Dracorum. The aging King Ion finds himself now ruling over an aching, bellicose realm, in need of reform, of growth, of safety and of security. King Ion is not the young man he once was, and the noblemen of New Rhomania are quick to recognize that the current regime is not long for this world.

As per the war-time promises, King Ion has called out for a great congress of noblemen, clergy and leaders of the commonfolk to meet in Dracorum, that a constitution may be written. Tensions flare, the people calling out for a liberal constitution, stripping the King of many of his powers in favor of an elected Senate, whilst the Noblemen declare the need for a much more conservative law, allowing the King and his appointed officials to control the reigns of state. Even the Clergy come forth with demands, laying out the needs of the faith to remain foremost in law, going as far as to demand a formal post for the head of the Rhomanian church.

For now, the convention is called, and the document begins it's transcription. Time will tell if this shall prove to be stabilizing for the aching King and his realm.

Romance at Midnight

It was a cool night in Olivedrabia, with the end-year holidays giving way to clear skies. The royal family in Rhomania had long kept close ties to that of Olivedrabia, owing their statehood to the aid of the Emperor. When King Ion took his crown as King, he took a great tour to Olivedrabia to celebrate, and brought along his only son, Prince Traian, for the festivities.

What began as a long affair of festivities took a sharp turn, as the young Prince met a rather dashing young woman amongst the courts of the Emperor; one Princess Alice of House Chièvres. He had heard the stories of Haute-Outremer, and how his realm had fought her realm in the war. He felt pity for the woman, how her nation tossed aside their monarchy and indulged in false ideology. He told himself that a monarch deserved better, to rule as is their Deus-given right. Perhaps he could bring comfort to a fellow heirling, denied their throne yet?

Rumor is quick to spread in the sprawling courts and chambers of nobility, and it was not long til King Ion heard of his son's.. 'affair' with a de-throned princess. While no newspapers spoke of this, the King knew such a thing could cause great controversy, and all the stops were made to keep things quiet, but with the civil war in Haute-Outremer, whispers began to spread about the possibility of a restoration, that Alice could very much face the possibility of ascension. King Ion was even more distraught, but the proposition was all too tempting for the young Prince, who declared his intention in secret to marry the Princess.

With Ion's declining health, and the possibility of Outremeran restoration, the possibility of a union between the two states seemed all too likely.. perhaps this is the future of Rhomania, Ion thought, to bring together two torn realms, and bring them to the future? No, things must be quiet, for now..

The Grain Must Flow!

The War brought many changes to Rhomania, the Olivedrabian war machines, the great Gases, the cruelty of Valedori.. the Kingdom of New Rhomania was a nation living in the past, when the rest of the world was leaving it behind. Rhomania must face it's future, to claim it's rightful place among the powers of Coldonia! It's birthright is denied it, as the world stands, and it must be reclaimed!

The Olivedrabian war machines were watched with interest by the poor farmers of the West, taking with interest the ideas of the great tractors. Mechanists, engineers, the great men of steel and gas saw that such machines could change the face of Rhomania. For years, the great machines were studied, torn apart, their internals greatly documented until at last, an industrial tractor was born. Such a machine reduced the labor needed for great plantations by an amount before thought impossible, and even more grain, more fruits and vegetables, more goods could be made. The economy, in this post-war state, was quickly becoming one of the most prosperous in Coldonia, exporting raw goods so cheap, it could compete with local goods across the continent.

The world was changing quickly, and the aging King Ion found himself a man out of time. This was not his world anymore, the world of curious young men, of new technology, new ideas. He could feel the affects of age, of a life spent wearing the crown. He was no young man anymore, his fingers often did not obey, his legs were weak, his eyes hazy. He knew his time would be upon him, but he could not die yet, no, Rhomania must yet be saved.

The old King sat down in his old throne, remembering how powerful he felt all those years ago when he first claimed the crown. He let out a deep sigh as he looked at his young son seated next to him, not realizing that this deep breath, this fulfillment of the lungs' desire, would be one of his last..

Sweet Child In Time

Jacques was peacefully sleeping in one of Antoine's beds and dreaming of better times. He was having a dream about his family and his mother, deep inside, he missed her, and he even regrets escaping from his family, but it's now a little bit too late for him to return. After a few minutes, Jacques then woke up and stared at the roof for a couple of seconds. Just as he was about to stand up, suddenly, he heard an extremely loud explosion outside. It was as loud as a thunder, and he could've sworn his ears blew up. After recovering from this initial state of shock, he went to Antoine's room to alert him of what was going on. Antoine was already awake when Jacques went to his room, and he was just as confused as he was.

"Jacques, what the hell is going on?".

"Well, sh*t, that's what I was going to ask you!".

"I think I know what's going on, the militias are here. Quick, I want you to grab your stuff and flee from this place. This thing is about to get bloody".

"But what about you, Antoine?".

"I'll be fine. I'm going to join the United Front, I already have my rifle ready".

"But...but Jacques! I don't want to be alone! Really? You're going to abandon and ignore me just like my family did?".

"No, you don't get it. This isn't about you being alone anymore, this is about saving your goddamn life. Look, I would've loved getting to know you more, but seems like life has other plans for us. It was nice knowing you kid, I wish you a good life".

"But...Antoine! Please! Please! I don't...I just...I just want somebody to love..." The young boy then started to cry, his eyes were like small waterfalls.

"Look...I get it, I totally get it, but...you can't simply fight along with me. You're too young, and I don't want you to get traumatized by war again. You already experienced the trenches, and it was not pretty. What if you watch me die along your side? You'll break down crying and will not know what to do".

"Well, if we were going to die side by side, then at least it was with a comrade!".

"That doesn't matter...just...go already...please, you'll make things worse".

Jacques had no other choice, he had to run away. There was no other way to convince Antoine to change his opinion, the thing was set in stone. Jacques then grabbed all of his bags, his uniform, and when he stepped outside of Antoine's chalet, he started to run towards the horizon.

"I'll miss that kid..." Antoine thought to himself while cleaning his rifle.

"He was like the son I never had, and now...I'll probably never see him again, didn't even ask for his surname".

"Come on Antoine, just...get him out of your head, try to forget him".

After a couple of minutes of rocking his chair back and forth, Antoine finally grabbed all of the ammunition he had, his hunting rifle, and headed towards Grandcamp, where all of the fighting was probably happening. While on his way to the center of the city, he noticed that the city he loved so much was completely destroyed. Rubble was everywhere, the air smelled of death, and there were bodies everywhere. The scene looked like it came straight out of a horror book, but this was no fantasy, this was real life. He also noticed that the city was awfully quiet, maybe all of the main fighting had already happened?

While walking through the streets of Grandcamp, Antoine noticed that there were several NCL/United Front flags waving all over the place. It seemed that the city was already captured by them, then what was all of the noise he had heard after being woken up by what seemed to be artillery? He then entered a building that had the letters "HQ". This was probably the NCL's local headquarters, he thought.

"Hello, is anybody here?' His voice echoed all over the seemingly empty building.

"Ah, hello there!" Said a mysterious female voice.

"Who is that? Where are you?".

"Ah, right here" A woman then rose from behind a desk, she was hiding there.

"Oh Jesus Christ, you scared me. Anyways, who are you and what is this place?".

"To answer both of your questions, my name is Mia, and I'm a recruiter for the Cosmic Militia. Want to sign up? Just talk with me! Well, to answer your second question, this is the UF's local headquarters".

"And...why is the city so...empty? Did y'all already capture the city?".

"Nope, we're still capturing the northern districts of the city, resistance is quite fierce there".

"Well...can I join the fighting?".

"Sure! Just sign this piece of paper, then, I'll take you to the front. Here, have a pen".

Antoine then quickly signed the paper, deep inside he didn't know what he was getting into, but he knew it had to be done to save his nation from the reactionaries.

Mia then took Antoine to the front by car. While on the way, Antoine thought of Jacques one last time, he had one wish and one wish only, he just hoped that the kid was doing fine.

The Yakuza chronicles, part I

A small, old car enters the driveway of a small drugshop. Upon stopping, two men wearing black jackets get out of the vehicle and lay on it for a few minutes. One of them bears a scar on his face, laying from the forehead all the way to his cheek.

Man: Here we are.

Scarface: Unexpected. It is rather...modest.

Man: It's our best shot without getting the f*cking police and Black Sun on our tails. That is a fact.

Scarface (takes a last drag out of his cigarette and throws it on the ground): I know.
Man: Listen...I am your friend, so I need to ask you one more time...are you sure you want to do this? Once we step in, the families will hunt us down.

Scarface (smiles): Not if I hunt them down first.

After saying this, Scarface walks in the drug store. Behind the counter sits a young lady.

Lady: Good morning!

Scarface: Is this the drug store of mister Aloshima?

Lady (confused): Uh...yes, it actually is.

Scarface: I would like to talk to him.

The lady suspiciously looks at the man and leaves. In two minutes, a bald man wearing a burgundy kimono walks in.

Aloshima: Greetings. You have summoned me.

Scarface: I came here for the magic crystals.

Aloshima's figure becomes more serious.

Aloshima: We do not sell. Get lost.

Scarface smiles.

Scarface: Then teach me how to make my own.

Aloshima suddenly turns towards him after starting to climb the stairs.

Aloshima: What did you just say?

Scarface: I know you have a lab at the edge of the town where you make those things. A weird smell comes out the horn of the little hut, that makes the villagers go dizzy.

Aloshima looks more worried now.

Scarface: Look at the bags under your eyes and those crooked yellow teeth. I can tell you take it too. Tell me...do you like it?

Aloshima (with a panicked voice): Go away! I will report you to the police!

Scarface calmly unbottons his jacket and rolls up his shirt, revealing a body full of tatoos.

Scarface: Do you really want to do that?

Aloshima looks horrified at the tatoos on Scarface's body.

Scarface: Do you now know who we are?

Aloshima swallows hardly and nods. Sweat drops begin appearing on his forehead.

Scarface: Meet me at your lab Sunday morning. You are going to show me how you prepare your product. We are going to test it, to see how good it is. Understood?

Aloshima nods.

Scarface smiles warmly.

Scarface: Was that your daughter at the counter earlier?

Aloshima: Y-yes sir.

Scarface: Tell anyone about our affair, amd you will never see her again. Never.

Scarface exits the drug store and hops in the car, as it drives away.

Rise of the Veterans

Background

Olivedrabia has seen little else but conflict for the last century. These wars have only grown in severity and scale, creating generations of men baptized in fire in their youth. However, the leaders of the country remain the same: aristocrats stuck in their ancient procedures and traditions. For decades, a growing movement has sought to institute a new status quo, where only those who have "earned" their place in Olivedrabian society may have a say, in direct conflict with another growing movement, which spawned Vox. Unofficially lead by retired Military Tribune Tiberius Atrius Faustus, the movement has, in the aftermath of the disgrace of Vox Industria, become increasingly popular among certain sections of the military, particularly younger officers.

A Call for Intervention

As the debate in the Senate rages on, Faustus published a series of statements in various newspapers calling upon the Legions to bypass the Senate and pledge support for the NCL, stating that the reactionaries in the BoD are much like those at home, aiming only to hold man back rather than further man's development. However, Comes Bellator, long seen as a possible ally for Faustus, has publically stated that he "Will take no action that is not lawfully approved by the Senate or His Majesty" and that "What is proposed [by Faustus] would undermine all that we have fought for."

The Emperor himself has been putting pressure on the Senate to come to a decision, and Consul Adjutor has elected to force a conclusion to debate at the end of January. The clock is ticking as the final session of the month begins...

The Senate

The Optimate Senator rises as the debate begins anew. This debate has begun to tear apart the Optimate-Populares coalition, and Vox, disgraced as it is, has been taking advantage, peeling off Populares Senators and Assemblymen to their side, endangering the grip the Aristocracy has on power. This Senator, however, will not stand for it. "My esteemed colleagues, this argument is worn out. There is only one possible faction we can support. The Brotherhood wishes to protect tradition in Outremer, something that we ourselves promised the Exiles that we would fight for. These so called 'Futurists' are the same ilk as Kerris, and they must be destroyed, lest the tidal wave of revolt spread to this Empire."

The Senate chamber erupts into bickering as the Optimate Senator speaks of the threat of revolt, only quieting down as Consul Adjutor calls for silence. The Optimate then resumes his speech. "We are already across the River Terminus, and in a perfect position to strike against the rabble and catch them in an unwinnable two front war! We must act now to restore righteousness to Outremer! To do otherwise would be a grave error."

As the Optimate yields the floor, the Vox Senator takes his place. "My colleague from Lacinia fails to realize that the Outremerian People do not want a return to the old ways. This is why the Social Nationalists arose in the first place. To enforce a reactionary status quo on them would be to doom our northern brethren to face another revolution. We must instead embrace new ways of thinking, and stand side by side with our Futurist Comrades. Only then shall the Outremerian people be free from strife."

Once again, the Senate erupts into bickering, which once again must be silenced by Consul Adjutor. The Consul stands up, and turns to the Populares. "Do the Populares have anything to say on the matter?"

The Populares Senator stands. "No, your Excellency. We motion that a final vote on this issue be made."

The Consul nods. "Very well. If the Senators will take their seats, we will hold a vote on the issue of the Outremerian Civil War. All those in favor of intervention say 'Aye'."

The Senate Chamber, for once, is unified in its response, almost all the Senators responding 'Aye'.

The Consul nods. "The Ayes have it. There are two ballot boxes in front of my chair. All those in favor of supporting the Northern Faction shall place their name in the box on my right, and those in favor of supporting the Southern Faction shall do the same in the box on my left. Once everyone has submitted their vote, the paper slips shall be counted, and only if there is a tie shall I submit my vote. The Optimates shall vote first, followed by Vox, and then the Populares."

Hours passed as the ballots were counted. For a while, it seemed that the Optimates coalition with the Populares was intact enough to secure them victory in the vote, however, the few Populares senators that did ally with Vox were the deciding votes, tipping the scale by a mere two votes in favor of supporting the Southern Faction.

This vote not only changes the course of Outremerian history, but is also a groundbreaking shift in Olivedrabian politics, as the status quo which had been established in the 17th Century finally seems to be breaking apart.

Reforming the Guard

In the aftermath of the war, deliberation began on whether to reform the National Valedorian Guard. Many of its units still used Great War-era firearms and equipment, and often relying on grants and provisions from the Ministry of Peace. Since the takeover of the Council, this debate has led to a clear answer: reformation. The Council has reformed the Valedorian Guard, now known as the Protection Service. The new guard has gained many loyal members from within the civilian population, and investment in their training and equipment has proven its worth. New tactics and equipment have been introduced, and in some cases, the original Valedorian training has been reformed. The Guardsmen are now equipped with modern weaponry, armored vehicles, and modern tactics. These changes have been made to bring the Guardsmen into the 20th century and to give them a needed boost to prevent crimes against the state and protect the people.

The Economy

The Ministry of Economy is tasked with restoring the country to order following the worrisome recession that hit Valedori in the aftermath of the second Great War. The areas most affected are the port cities, which saw their revenues diminished due to the decrease in naval trade activity. The majority of the population is still working; however, wages have been at their lowest since the beginning of the war. The importance of the trade routes between the west and the New World, considerable exports of Valedori, is still significant. The Ministry will aim to revive the trade routes and secure the export of goods. The deficit remains a worrying problem, and efforts are being made to manage the National debt.

Foreign investment has seen a notable decrease since the end of the war, particularly in the Carmine Isles. To combat this, the Council is encouraging the investment of foreign capital in the economy by facilitating more direct contact between investors and foreign governments. It has also promoted the establishment of a national investment bank that will facilitate foreign direct investment. Opponents of this plan argue that it takes the focus away from pure-blooded Valedorians, a claim that has been swiftly dismissed by the Council.

Within the country, public works projects and infrastructure implementations have seen some success, as of now. An improvement in water supply in the south of the country is a notable example. In particular, the management of the electricity network has been an issue for the Ministry of Economy, as these have been poorly managed in the past. Currently, efforts are being made to have them managed more efficiently.

Reforms within the country are not limited to the economic sphere, however. Over the past years, an unprecedented effort has been made to reform the justice system, an area that was notoriously plagued by corruption during the days of the Republic. This has resulted in an increase in the number of convicts in the country's prisons. This increased pace of reform is due to a combination of factors, including regime change, and the necessity to introduce new legislation in a post-war environment. The reform of the judicial system has been welcomed by the general public, according to the National Polls.

The King's New Groove

The rain poured upon Dracorum like Deus himself had come to gift relief from a great famine, but there was no such call, only the heavy downpour upon the busy streets. Along one of the main roads, a tired worker pushes his way into a sleepy coffeehouse, pulling his umbrella closed as he feels the rain stop. The air was warm with cigarette smoke and the steam of hot drinks, certainly a far cry from the frigid winds. He pulls himself into a seat and reveals the rolled up newspaper he had tucked into his arm. He had heard word that a great many afflictions were revealed, and the papers were the only way to see for himself.

As he unravels the newspaper, the large, bold words at the top read; 'KING ION DEAD, SON TRAIAN TO BECOME NEW KING'. It was not news that the old King Ion was in poor health, but to die so suddenly, and with the constitutional convention still ongoing? The man felt his heart sink a bit. He was a staunch supporter of the convention, and could not help but fear the worst. He flips the page with a sigh, then takes a long drag of his limp cigarette.

'AFFAIR IN NEW RHOMANIA - CROWN PRINCE AND OUTREMERIAN PRINCESS?' spread across the top of the next page, with a grainy photograph of the dashing Traian next to none other than the exiled princess herself. Their 'relationship' was known, at least in the upper courts and chambers of nobility, but such an affair was new to the commonfolk. Traian was a young man, not even in his 20s, and the Princess was nearly 10 years his elder. Even the most traditionalist of New Rhomanian nobility knew that a young, healthy Queen would be a necessity to continue the Dracoesta line, but there was no approval from King Ion, no sanction for such a scandalous relationship. The worker couldn't help but laugh a bit to himself as he smoked again. He too was a young man once, and he understand how a young man's mind worked. All he could hope for was the young King's best wisdom.

He flipped yet again, this time, his eyes would widen. 'CORONATION IN DRACORUM - WEEK LONG FESTIVITES!' now decorated the page, with an elaborate illustration of King Ion's last coronation. It was no mystery that the prince-turned-king was extravagant and flamboyant, yet progressive and reformist. His ascension would doubtlessly mean great change to New Rhomania, and his start would be inviting a many heads of states, kings, dukes, clergymen and even traditionally non-favored rulers of foreign realms to visit. New Rhomania was infamously hostile to nations which it did not share strong relations with, and the old King would've never dreamed of inviting them to court.

The man shook his head with a good natured laugh, shutting the newspaper as he finishes his cigarette. The man running the store finally approached him, holding a hot cup of coffee, prepared just the way he liked.

"Another long day, eh Georgiu?"

"They never get any shorter, do they?" The two laughed.

"You reading the newspaper, eh? I can't involve myself in the needs of Kings and lords.."

"I can, and I can't help but think things are getting better."

The coffeemaker raised an eyebrow. "And why do you say that?"

The worker smiled and glanced outside, before giving his answer..

Novan Response and Propaganda Campaign

Upon reading the horribly crafted letter from the Tseusonningen leader, all the Nova Prime could do was laugh and send a letter of his own back to the communist state.

"Dear Ass. Max Von Zendauen - As signed,

I received your letter and I must say, I am astounded. Not by the relevance of the written words but by the fact of how lamentable your letter truly was. To release something of this horrific quality and stamp it with the seal of your nation. I would surely be disappointed to live in a country like yours who's pitiful leader is unable to write coherent sentences with the help of the entire government. However, I cannot hold it against you. Only a simpleton subscribes to the ideology of socialism and communism if I dare state there is any difference, and the man who leads those who follow these cancerous ideas suffers the worst mental retardation of them all.

I sincerely wish grace upon you and your family. Not because I am a forgiving man, but so that when all crumbles there is more to mourn.

- Nova Prime Dean O'Shaughnessy"

Following the message being sent to Tseusonningen, the Novan Republic began a slander and war propaganda campaign against the communist state which included a copy of Von Zendauen's letter with the phrase "If he's too stupid to write, He's too stupid to rule." being posted across the country.

Send some cash their way!
Astoniland with such an influx of cash, and well improvement of life overall now seeks to aid their neighbors in reaching economical stability, an unstable neighbor is a dangerous neighbor and that's a fact.

Ueshido was out of the question due to their new policies and well government overall, but Valedori had recently gone some changes that facilitated Astoniland's investment and so the money went mainly to the Carmine Isles due to their almost identical climate and features deciding what was more profitable was much easier than for example mainland Valedori.

The main investments went towards local agriculture and lumbering, mainly from the newly formed tobacco companies in Astoniland and well-established lumbering companies, which realized eventually the Western and Central Isles will eventually run out of wood to chop, additionally, the government offered Valedori help to prepare their people and teach them how to live in such drastically different conditions from the mainland.

If the offer was taken up, Astoniland would send advisors and specialists in fields such as; How to purify your own water, how to deal with the scorching heat, how to not die horribly of Malaria, and other useful tasks to help the newcomers to the isles maybe even hire some of the local Astonilandian immigrants which were more familiar with the local language than any experts the government could send or even find on the mainland.

Troubles in Flandreport
Hearing about some worrying news from the representative at Flandreport, the government of Al-Sandlua has ordered the Royal Fleet to Flandreport to protect Flandreport from the Tseusonnigen Navy while alerting the Astoniland Embassy about the Crisis in Flandreport. The fleet includes 2 Heavy cruisers, 7 Light Cruisers, 11 Destroyers, 3 newly built submarines, and a token force of 450 troops to garrison Flandreport.

E.F at the ready!
Yet again Flanderport was in danger and knowing that Marinokoni might not protect them, the government has once gained call upon the E.F paying them in cold hard cash to defend the city from any possible invasion seeing the worrying news from their northern border along the communists and the warning from their Sandluan allies and respective representative of the Astonilandian district, which seemed to be quite fast-growing.

They brought several gifts with them, such as old 1890s surplus rifles, two maxims, and several boxes of ammo all of which would be placed in a building heavily guarded to avoid the guns getting in the wrong hands at the wrong time, but not only arms where brought medical supplies in-case the battle ever reached Flandeport and they had to tend to the heavily wounded or well any wounded in general.

It also helped that the E.F had gained a reputation among the locals seeing their involvement in the civil war against the Pan-Slavists and the monarchy, so perhaps the local population would be more compliant towards their orders and maybe even respect the men but who knows how many people remember them after all they're simply a foreign legion.

A revival of diplomatic relations

For the past few years, while the most important nations of Coldonia were at war with each other, Ueshido was trapped in a brutal civil war that seemed to have no end. This not only killed 15% of the population of the country and destroyed numerous cities, but also isolated Ueshido politically, given the popularity of two extremist ideologies.

Now, the war was over and the nation was rebuilt, with a growing economy and in full modernisation proccess, as several sectors of the industry are emerging, like the automobile industry and the agricultural sector. However, the leaders of Ueshido were yet to find new allies across the continent, as fascism failed in the north.

Instinctively, due to their help in the civil war, the Novan republic was liked by many diplomats of the National-Socialist government, as they also shared with us the anti-communist struggle. As relations are at an all time high, the ambassador in Novan announces the leader that Ueshido is interested in striking more trade deals with the country, in exchange for agricultural goods, and is willing to build industry and infrastructure. Moreover, Naoki, seeing that Novan is threatened by communists, is willing to send weapons, military atachees and even volunteers in case of war.

The diplomats have also put in the spotlight another nation on the new continent, Draconovox, with which Ueshido has had no relations up until now. However, it has come to our knowledge that the people of Draconovox have a mongolian ancestry, and are therefore included in the Shidian race, that is considered superior by the current government. Some have went as far as saying that Draconovians are "our distant cousins from another continent". Therefore, seeing a link between our people, the diplomats of Ueshido have declared their interest to pursue better relations with Draconovox, by requesting to open up an embassy in the capital. Also, seeing how Draconovox is fighting obscure monsters, Ueshido offers to send a few hundred latest generation rifles, along with military trainers with valuable experience.

Mardiv Ovlashenko

Imagine a kingdom, of small sizes, where everyone knows their place, their duties, their obligations and they all live in union and respect for the law, praising the mighty King who’s only devotion is for the country.

Now, all that was the exact opposite of what Antrua was back in 1790s.

In reality, the place was a boiling soup where the citizens were pissed off at the higher commanding positions, such as the King and his fellow comrades with whom, he ran the state with an iron fist, killing and burning down anyone and anything that opposed his regime. Oh did I say regime? I meant everything that was related to him.

Didn’t like his face? Damnation.
Didn’t like his face? Damnation.
Didn’t like his walking style? Damnation.
Didn’t like his regime? Damnation.

If you dared to speak for yourself, or to stand up for your loved ones, your head would soon to be laying on the ground, along other fellow citizen’s heads who dare to speak against the King’s word.

So who was this King, you may ask.
By his name, Mardiv Ovlashenko, the son of King Ianov Ovlashenko, the previous ruler of then Antrua, and a servant around the palace, the youngster always had severe anger issues being unable to find satisfaction in anything but sadistic doings such as abusive behaviour towards animals, fellow comrades, colleagues and later on, hostility towards his own father who banished him from Antrua for his disobedience when the King sent him to a training camp in order to give him the skillset necessary to lead an army, as he wished for his son to be – a general in his 1st command army. There however, the now 21 years old Mardiv, bribed several officers in order to allow him to sneak out the classes he was supposed to follow in exchange for wasting time in bars, walking drunken on the streets with his mates, breaking laws upon laws and often starting fights with the locals. Moreover, 6 months in for his training, when a replacement officer, who was not used to the youngman’s doings, found about Mardiv’s bribery and threatened to bring this felony to his father’s knowledge, Mardiv, in fear of his father’s rage and in an impulse of the moment, grabbed his knife and stabbed the officer to death, act which enraged his father and put a lid to all his forgiven mistakes leading to his banishment from the kingdom.

Two years later, Ianov Ovlashenko dies of pox and now, the temporary established government made out of the highest in command generals and royal advisors, was desperately looking for a royal blood to replace the previous King with.

Yes, you guessed right. It was Mardiv’s time to shine.

The young soon-to-be King of Antrua, returned in secret in his Kingdom where he was crowned king by General Britzfawrd (an important figure along the history of Antrua, will be recalled later on) – a close friend of Mardiv and also the most influent man in Antrua at that time. The ceremony was done in silence, only the highest bishop and the two, the general and Mardiv, took part at the faith changing event.

After the ceremony, the temporary government was abolished by Mardiv and Britzfawrd establishing an absolute monarchy with Ovlashenko at it’s core followed by next in command, then promoted General and Chief of Army, Douglas Britzfawrd.

As for his late father, his kingdom was living in a somewhat prosperity with strong relationships among foreigner states leaving this way time and resources at king’s disposal, this way the laws were satisfying the citizens and same did the standards of living in Antrua.

All those laid before Mardiv the perfect framework for him to bring the kingdom even further on the peaks of glory.

Annnd, no, he did not do that. Lol Lmao GG Funny, no he didn’t ofc xD .

As son as he rose to power, the new King took everything for himself and started wasting all the resources for his own likings and personal entertainment ways: parties with all his fellow generals, close ones, most expensive and fine wines and beers (no, not french beers, those are simply sink water!!???) and so forth. At first, this recklessness didn’t leave a huge impact on the kingdom since resources kept pumping in from the various tradings foreigners had with Antrua. Between those trades, we note one that Antrua was a blacksmithing Power in the region, having the finest blacksmiths and metals melting quality. Finest looking jewelry and sharpest swords came out of Antruanian hands.

However, this wouldn’t last long as the King’s demons started catching up with him this way starting the Bloody Age of Antrua.

The Bloody age of Antrua

Now in his 25s, Mardiv started clashing with the Kingdom’s citizen since now the fame of the country was falling in dust as the new King was perceived as an incapable leader, a looser and a party addict who was not supposed to lead such a previously glorious kingdom as Antrua.

The royal advisors were afraid that with the fallen fame, the kingdom would show weak to the enemy and crack gaps in soldier’s morale seeing their chief of army being a drunkie (a literal piece of junk, yacks). However, huge was the fear of letting those concerns known to the king, fear which didn’t allow changes and revolts started rising against the monarchy.

Seeing his own people revolt against him, Mardiv switched from a rather neutral stance towards kingdom’s life, to a more offensive stance where he started punishing revolts with death and torture.

And this, was the greatest choice in history of Antrua, people got scared and stopped revolting and became thankful for that they had.

Or not, lol, no they didn’t L O L. This radical change only enraged the people of Antrua to revolt even rougher against the king and his acolites.

The revolts weren’t all the times under the form of violent civil wars but also defined by attempts of hiding their crops from kingdom’s accounting, taxes refusals and work strikes.

What this lead to? This lead to more menslaughter from the King towards it’s people.

Things soon got even worse as the advisor’s concerns came out to be true for when a few skirmishes along the Antruan borders took place.
Mardiv considered best to hide the truth from the people by hiding the skirmishes under the numerous revolts which, unsuccessfully as it was, lead to Antruans allying with the enemy for the desperate need to save their kingdom from their careless yet cluer ruler.

Why desperate you ask?

By this time, the Kingdom’s fame hit the Marianna Trench’s bottom floor and so did the trust other states had in Antrua, this way slowly stopping any trades with the burning kingdom leading to economical failure of the state.... Not good, not good – and not yet it all. The working strikes staged by the riots, lowered the living standards since more and more escaped away from Antrua in order to find a better living for themselves. The population was either dying from various sicknesses caused by the lack of filthy streets, full sewers, rats spreading diseases and starvation.

What did the king do? Nothing. He was busy highering taxes and throwing more parties while asigning generals after generals to look after the border skirmishes.

One day, Britzfawrd, after endless attempts of convincing the king to either step down for the sake of it’s people, either to change the rulling manner, decided to do the only remaining thing to do.
To ally with the enemy in hope of benefit :troll: Lol XD Lmao GG

Gladia, a former state in the region, gladly accepted (haha, gladia gladly accepted, funni Ikr) the general’s proposal of supporting a monarchy overthrow staged by the general and an army set in the times of riots made of skilled swordsmen and sneaky bastards.
However, Gladia seen an opportunity behind the gratitude of a reborn Antrua, the opportunity of invading the dying kingdom with no defenses.

The occupation happened quickly since Mardiv’s wish to change generals upon generals after their failure to successfully defend the borders and the riots, resulted in unprepared men taking the position of a general and this only weakened even more the country’s defenses leaving for Gladia’s soldiers to march in and surprisingly not, going past the Antruan armies who simply welcomed the invaders as a liberation power.
The foreigner troops marched up to the King’s palace where they found Mardiv laying on the floor in a bloodbath after he decided to suicide at the news of his army refusing to fight against the invading troops who clearly would take his head and crown it as a monument of failure (emotional Damageeee).
Mardiv Ovlashenko dies at the age of 35.

The New Era

The occupying forced in Antrua managed to re-establish the connection between the people and their government, managed to bring will back into people’s life and soon after, they left Britzfawrd in charge of the country under Gladia’s supervision.
The Gladia Occupation in Antrua took an end after 8 years.
Britzfawrd, not so long after the foreigner occupying force left the kingdom, reformed the government into what he called a Governance Committee made of intellectuals, rich ones and highest heads in army. Here, he abolished monarchy and started what you’d, so far, call a democratic start for Antrua.
Voting was established, civilian rights were enforced and now, the place was somewhat thriving to rise back from it’s ashes to it’s former glory.

And I know what you’re wondering, wasn’t Britzfawrd friends with Mardiv? Wasn’t him also bad???
Indeed he was, but let’s not forget that a regional power was still looking after Antrua and Britzfawrd’s army wasn’t yet strong enough to face Gladia.

However, 1 year later, Britzfawrd gets ill to bed from malaria.

Back to „who tf will rule this place” matter :P !
Antrua now Democratic was hosting votes on a representative who would then pick for the next Supreme Chief of State.

The representative one was to choose between a former general, 56 of age now who’s mind was impregnated of Imperialistic desires wishing to bring the former Antruan Glory even further high up and not only stop there, or a fellow intelectual who’s wish was to bring education closer to the regular citizen and make it more affordable and „catchy”.

Not sure if the representative was bribed, or forced, or who knows what, but he picked the officer, General Ivanovich Melnicenko.

The new Supreme Chief of State was put in power in 1855 and lasted untill 1894.

Ivanovich enforced a set of new reforms that enforced an early conscription form, higher taxes, educational standards, better wages and a better quality of life.

Overall, where Mardiv and Britzfawrd failed, Ivanovich succeeded. People were happy, Antrua was prosperous and cash was pouring in General’s pockets. What else could Antrua wish for?

Antruan Wars

Not soon after, Ivanovich started to put his visions into practice by taking over small tribes around the borders, the plotting of some countries going against others and benefiting after fighting other’s wars. Indeed it brought fame to Antrua but also damaged, once again, the fame of the state. The Military Ruled country was now feared by it’s neighbors and looked upon with bad eyes due to it’s bloody past and current territorial expansions.

The first massive war Antrua took part in, was the Antrua-Jakalda war which ended with 75.455 Jakaldian casualties and the first Antruan expansion to the North.
Antrua also fought Birsmatcha, a small kingdom south of our country which ended again, in Ivanovich's mastermind tactics ruining the foreigner kingdom’s suveranity taking over it. The Southern Expansion.

In 1887, Iovanovich starts a military campaign against Tryonory state, a powerful country in the region, known for it’s paid mercenaries.
Ivanovich bribed the ones in charge of foreigner affairs in Tryonory, poisoned the waters, burnt the crops and took hostages of the Tryonory’s people. This only pushed the enemy leader to send waves of men that marched in Ivanovich’s death trap. A field filled of cannons, bolt actioned weapons and homemade bombs with close range.

Ivanovich dies at 95 years, in 1894 being succeeded by a communist fanction, the Petriovcha Fanction who rule untill present day.

Petriovcha Faction

The ruling of Ivanovich built himself a handful of enemies and friends. Himself being an imperialist, a lot of early socialists amateurs started building up a faction who’d defend the national interests and close the gap between the rich and the poor, gape caused by Ivanovich’s wars of which many took advantage and many have took the losses.
Petriovcha Faction was now in the same position Mardiv found himself in, almost 100 years ago. In the head of the state, a state self sustainable and with a glorious past.

What is now the present, soon will become history... Time is the only All-knowing and Forever-telling force of nature...

The Yakuza Chronicles part II

Scarface, Aloshima and the young girl walk through the dense bushes. At one point, a small tunnel blocked by two doors appears in front of them. Aloshima grabs the keys and opens the small gates, enterning the small tunnel.

Aloshima: I hope you are not claustrophobic. Close the door after you please.

The three enter the small tunnel and walk for several minutes, before entering a huge underground room with a lot of different types of vases, tubes and other chemistry items.

Aloshima: Put on your mask. If you feel a little dizzy, you can exit through that door right there. It is an emergency room.

Scarface nods.

Aloshima: Let's cook now.

After a few hours, the three gather around a weird oven. Aloshima opens the oven and gets out three large boards, covered by a weird, glowy, white solid substance. The man grabs a knife and starts smashing the white cover in small pieces, while the other two watch. He takes a few small pieces on the edge of the knife.

Aloshima: This is the final product. You are free to try it.

Scarface takes off his mask and smiles.

Scarface: Try it yourself. I never snorted.

Aloshima looks at Scarface with a surprised figure. He then looks with hesitation at the crystals on the knife. The girl is looking at them both, worried.

Scarface: Come on. Do it, I don't have all day.

Aloshima snorts the crystals. He coughs once, and his eyes start glowing.

Scarface: Is it good?

Aloshima nods slowly.

Scarface: Good. How much can you produce weekly?

Aloshima looks at the small trays, hesitant.

Scarface: 100 kilograms.

Aloshima looks shocked.

Aloshima: But...how. I have a business to take care of!

Scarface takes a very fat stack of cash from his coat and puts it on the small table.
Scarface: Consider this a payment in advance. And many more to come, if you produce the amount I specified weekly. Take it or leave it. (takes out his pack of cigarettes and puts one between his lips) Now I would like all this meth put in bags. (Lights his cigarette and takes the first drag). Will you? (looks at the girl)

5 minutes later, Scarface throws the meth bags in the trunk of his car, gets in, and drives off.

Several hours later, Scarface, along with his friend Knife, sit in the same car, on an empty street. It is raining.

Knife: They will be coming for us soon. Have you taken all the measures?

Scarface nods slowly, as he exhales the cigarette smoke.

Scarface: Even more, I will let them know.

Knife looks at him, confused.

Knife: Let them know what?

From the pub next door, a young man holding a gal over her shoulders exists. They both look at the young man walking towards the car, along the sidewalk.

Knife: No way...

Scarface (big smile on his face): So it shall be.

Right when the young man passes by the car, Scarface opens the door and gets out. He throws his cigarette on the wet asphalt.

Scarface: Get lost, sweetheart. Me and the boy got a little something to talk.

The girl looks scared at Scarface and leaves, as the man angrily looks.

Scarface: Hello, Yamahuto.

Yamahuto: What the h*ll is this, mate? What does this mean?

Scarface: This means...bad luck.

Yamahuto gets close to Scarface, acting aggressive.

Yamahuto: You think you can play games with me, b*tch? You forgot who I am?

Scarface: No, I did not. Now, it's time to remind others of who I am.

Yamahuto: You are lucky I am not in the mood for a fight right now. This will not stay this way.

Scarface: The New Yakuza sends their regards.

Before Yamahuto could even react, Scarface pulls out a gun from his coat and shoots the man in the head. He falls dead on the wet sidewalk. As Scarface jumps in the car, the bl*od extends all over the sidewalk.

Signs of War

Following news that the People's Republic of Tseusonningen had invaded the neighboring countries of Marinokoni and Kogurimaa, the Novan War machine was put into early mobilization with the assembly of troops and supplies, but without a formal declaration of war. The previous propaganda campaign against Tseusonningen had also changed from one which attacked their leader- Max Von Zendauen, to now remarking on the similarities between the Tseusonningenian people and Roaches, whilst calling for Novan intervention to exterminate the communist pest.

The Republic had also announced that the Novan Navy will engage any Tseusonningen ship that enters the Novan Sea regardless of its status as a Military or Merchant vessel and gives a single warning to the Tseusonningen government to redirect all international trade and withhold all non-military fleets from traveling through the north to avoid unneeded casualties.

Amongst the Novan population, war support is rather high. The innate hatred of communism mixed with the anti-Tseusonningen sentiment following their part in the failed revolution has led to many supporting the idea of war with the communist state. A majority of those asked about the subject in a recent poll stated that they thought it was time for the Republic to take an interventionist stance against communism to safeguard the world against the threat of the poisonous ideology.
