Controversy ensues as Yuan denies responsibility for ship's actions

The Yuan government has reiterated its previous position, maintaining that the ship acted independently and without official authorization. Drambenburgian officials have expressed concern over the potential breach of their territorial waters and have launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Drambenburg Extends Aid and Controversy Amidst the Fate of Yuanese Ship's Crew
Drambenburg's Response to the Puhan Incident Creates Ripples of Contention

The fate of the surviving crew members of the Yuanese ship JAI Puhan has become a focal point of international scrutiny. Captain Lu Xindong and a select few crew members have defected to Drambenburg, raising questions about tensions between Drambenburg and Yuan. Most of the ship's officers are confined in temporary prison camps, raising concerns from human rights organizations and drawing criticism from Yuanese authorities. Drambenburg has chosen to repatriate the crew members in good health back to their homeland. The JAI Puhan incident has sparked debates about the fairness of selectively returning crew members based on their rank and health status. Injured crew members are being held in temporary prison camps, but concerns over their rights and access to legal representation have been raised. Diplomatic negotiations between Drambenburg and Yuan are ongoing to assuage concerns and uphold justice for all parties involved.

Yep, welcome! After sending your application to Zam, wait a few days and you'll be placed on the region's map. There is a discord server and an IIwiki if you wanna build your own lore. If you have anymore questions, ask the listed lore advisers above.

I'd say it's fairly active, we just talk about all different things in that server. If you wanna build lore with other people, I think it would be best to join the discord. Zam and the lore advisers are on the discord, usually it is a quicker way to contact them if needed. (I'm no lore advisor, don't ask me for more info)

5 KILLED AFTER 6.4 MAGNITUDE QUAKE IN SELIKA
SELIKA- At least five people were killed Tuesday morning when a magnitude-6.4 earthquake hit off the coast of Artaska, the Artaska Disaster Response Center said. More than 200 people were rescued from damaged structures, many from a 17-story residential building that collapsed in Seilka, officials told Ditari I Modstovo. Two bodies were also recovered from the building, officials said. As of Tuesday afternoon, at least 121 people were still unaccounted for in Artaska, adding to rescuers’ sense of urgency. More than 60 people in the city remain hospitalized, disaster officials said. Seven other buildings in Selika were damaged. President Bisliev stated that the full resources of the government would be at the disposal of rescuers. Tuesday's quake is the strongest to hit Western Nortua since the September 1 2021 quake in Beatavic, which occurred along the same Faultline and triggered a devastating tsunami which inundated coastal regions of Gran Telea. A tsunami warning was issued after Tuesday's quake, but it has since been rescinded.

Bisliev condemns Islamophobic and anti-immigrant demonstrations
COPLESTI- President Emin Bisliev condemned a series of anti immigrant and Islamophobic demonstrations in the capital city of Coplesti and other cities across Artaska, as Parliament struck down a proposal to slash immigration quotas and as Bisliev aims to increase the amount of refugee acceptance per year. Protesters rallied against Islam and immigration in several cities this week, sometimes clashing with police or counterdemonstrators amid growing tensions over the massive influx of asylum-seekers to the continent. Riot police clashed with demonstrators in Coplesti as supporters of the anti-Islam group AAGI tried to hold their first protest meeting in the capital. In Modstovo, up to 8,000 people took part in a AAGI rally. Up to 3,500 people took part in a counterdemonstration. In the northern city of Klakov, police dispersed a rowdy anti-migrant protest with tear gas after clashes with protesters and detained several far-right demonstrators.

A tsunami warning was issued after Tuesday's quake, but it has since been rescinded.

“This was strong enough to not only be felt here in the [Artaskan] capital city of Coplesti but also in the northern states of Beatavic and westernmost regions of Constantio,” Elise Haundena, an DIM correspondent who was in Coplesti when the quake hit, said in an interview. “This region is very used to earthquakes and tremors, but this is far more significant than the country has seen in quite a while. Obviously shaking was bad in the September 1st quake almost two years ago, but it wasn't this prominent.”

The quake struck as many in Artaska prepared to celebrate the Dnatt New Year. It’s one of the country’s biggest holidays, and some people have as many as nine days off. “If you can imagine something like this happening during Easter holiday weekend or Christmas travel, that’s the equivalent of what’s happening here in Artaska right now,” Haundena said. As of Tuesday morning, about 900,000 homes were experiencing power outages across the country and some 400,000 were dealing with water outages, according to the National Fire Agency.

About 1.1 million people live in Selika, Artaska's largest city.

National Assembly votes to end Terehan deployment

President Emília Medeiros speaks following the National Assembly's decision

National Assembly has agreed to withdraw the final 5,000 troops who remain in Terehan, ending a nearly 8-month long deployment to the South Adulan nation as part of a wider WEDA campaign which saw the expulsion of dictator Asaad al-Shaad, who currently remains on trial, and the election of a new democratic government. President Emília Medeiros, a staunch supporter of the war effort since the beginning, called the decision "the right call at the right time," saying that she was glad previous attempts to call back forces had failed and that the results had succeeded only after the new government of Terehan had been installed. "This marks the end of Quetana's efforts in Terehan, and we did a greater job than we had anticipated," Medeiros said on Tuesday afternoon following the decision by National Assembly. The vote was nearly unanimous, coming on the heels of similar decisions made in Albarine to immediately end their deployments, and a vote in Zamastan's congressional hall earlier in the month to bring all forces back by September.

Of the original 23,000 troops deployed in October 2022, only 5,000 remained in Terehan as of May, with most having returned home after elections were held and the security situation in the country having stabilized with the capture of the last prominent ITAS stronghold, the city of Bashigand near the Tiqal border. Though sporadic and rare attacks by insurgents on civilians, Terehanian government forces, and WEDA coalition forces still occur, the chief of Quetana's combat operations in Terehan said that the situation is under control to the point that security responsibility can be handed over to the Terehanians.

"This isn't the Terehan we knew in November and December, where we thought we might have a failed state before it was born," General Rolme Markue said on Tuesday. "This is a stable country even compared to the standards of al-Shaad's dictatorship, and we have confidence in the new President, Amir al Abadi, as well as in his government and the security forces to do the job."

131 Quetanan soldiers were killed in the fighting, the third-most of any WEDA nation behind Caspiaa's 146 and Zamastan's 871. The most recent casualties among Quetanan forces occurred last week, when a suicide bomber hit a WEDA checkpoint in the capital of Casaat, killing one Quetanan soldier and injuring 12 others, including three Zamastanians and 5 Terehanian security officers.

Foreign Ministry: Escalation in Brau Sea is a dangerous precedent

Increased Yuaneze naval presence in the Brau Sea has led to a major crisis

Foreign Minister Elisabete Pascoal, speaking in Viitaniemi over the weekend, said that the events playing out in the Brau Sea between Haduastan and Yuan, and more recently in standoffs between the Drambenburgian and Yuaneze navies, are setting a dangerous precedent for the region and are playing into a state of rising tensions around the globe. Last week, Yuan and Haduastan engaged in a tense standoff which saw several warplanes shot down, a cargo ship sunk, and eventually the capitulation of the island of Chitpa by the Bali government in order to avoid a wider conflict. All this, melded with grave tensions after Yuaneze vessels were sunk in Titania Bay, is playing into what Pascoal called "a success of fears to defeat the fearful."

"Yuan is doing what they have long done best: flex their muscle, make friends in nations who have few, play off the fears of nations who have many, and then act when no one expects them to. That way, as we are seeing in the case of the occupation of Chitpa by ACWAC's armies, Yuan is able to capitalize off the fears of our world to avoid a greater problem, but achieve their goals. Yuan's ultimate desire is control over the continent of Ausiana, and their only real geographical and political roadblocks lie in Haduastan and Tasiastan. In a wider sense, though, they have now to face with the global opposition to their desire, but if they don't put up a united front, then they have nothing to stand in their way."

As the crisis of last week unfolded, Quetana's government stood back to stay within WEDA's guide of "condemn, but don't intervene", as Haduastan hold no direct defense ties with the organization. President Emília Medeiros condemned Yuan's actions and called on WEDA to conduct "freedom of maritime travel" operations in the Brau Sea, and Zamastanian carrier fleets in the region observed from afar, but the show of force did little to prevent Yuan's occupation of Chitpa, an island of more than 8.3 million inhabitants off the Haduastani coast.

Social Democrats push aside Sunderson for upcoming election
Prime Minister Delaney Sunderson's approval ratings have plummeted amid economic woes and a festering corruption scandal, and her party has opted to choose a new candidate for August's general election.

Eblium, New Anea - The Social Democrats have decided to choose a new candidate for August's general election, slighting incumbent Prime Minister Delaney Sunderson and choosing MP Paul Wasserbaur, who formerly served as the Cultural Minister under Sunderson and the Trade and Economic Relations Minister under Prime Minister Fritz Bierbaum (2011-17), as the new candidate placed up against the Conservative bloc's likely choices. Sunderson herself did not comment on the SDP's decision, though a spokesperson for her office said that she "respected the outcome." Sunderson, who has been in office since 2019, was expected to seek reelection in August for a second-term along with parliament, and after having survived a conservative party-prompted snap election in 2020, but increasing drops in her popularity and uncertainty about the stability of Anea's economy caused the SDP to reconsider her importance to the party.

LABOUR QUITS COALITION IN MIDST OF CRISIS
Prime Minister Bretford Rintt gives speech as the left fume over inaction

San Pera, Bentho - Prime Minister Rintt has given a speech after Labour's shock decision to leave the coalition. While signing a massive free trade deal with Bentho, the government back home broke apart when Labour announced its decision to leave the coalition. Rintt said he hoped to continue government talks in his address, labelling the left's selfishness over general issues. Deputy Prime Minister Nera has given dissatisfaction over her time working with Rintt. She highlighted the current government's unwillingness to act, even with the prime minister overseas signing possibly the most important trade deal in Pongi's entire history. The Nationals however still argue that he is spending most of his time in Bentho on a sandy beach sipping coconut water. This will not have a large effect on the government as it still holds the majority seats. The prime minister also showed that Labour were "disgusting, selfish idiotic bigots who caused this crisis in the first place."

The shared speech between Rintt and President Caballero asked for peace in Ausiana and cooperation was shown in the shared history of these countries. The trade deal is going well, with lowered tariffs on almost every good passing between Pongi and Bentho, along with provisions for sport friendlies, exchange programs and visa free access included in negotiations.

The Republic of Irzemai, most commonly known as Irzemai, is a landlocked nation located on the continent of Nortua, bordered to the north by Taymaite, to the east and south by Zoygaria, and to the west by Bruderschaft Des Deutsche Volkes. The country has a small population of 521,000, with the capital and largest city of Rini consisting of more than half the country's population. Irzemai was once part of the Zoygarian Empire until it gained independence following the World War, at which point it established itself as a republic. In 1995, Zoygaria invaded Irzemai and Coaitte, but its forces eventually withdrew in 1999. Since 2002, Irzemai has been ruled by President Warc Handon, who has abolished term limits, suspended elections, and established what international observers have labeled as an authoritarian government. In January 2023, a coup attempt led to Handon declaring martial law and effectively isolated Irzemai from the outside world. Irzemai is a member of the Coalition of Crown Albatross.

64 teams have been reached, which means applications are now closed. The Women's World Cup will take place in July. There are still ~2 days left to vote for the host city! Thanks for signing up, everyone!

EDIT: APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED, WE HAVE REACHED A FULL 20 SLOTS

Hello, Coalition of Crown Albatross!

Next week is the start of the Rio Palito Grand Prix in San Beausoliel. If you’re interested in having drivers compete in the race on behalf of your nation, please telegram me with the following application so I can start formulating a list:

1. Nation name
2. Driver’s name:
3. Preferred number on vehicle:
4. Sponsor of vehicle:

Happy racing!

The Rio Palito Grand Prix (officially known as the Formula Grand Prix de Rio Palito) is an annual Formula motor race at the Circuit de Beausoleil, a street circuit that runs through San Beausoleil, Rio Palito. It is widely considered to be the most important and famous formula races internationally, attracting millions of viewers and spectators from around the world. It is the principle race of the Crown Formula.

Crown Formula (also known as Formula 1 or CF1) is a class of single-seater auto racing and is the highest class of racing sanctioned by the International Motorsport Association. Crown Formula has been one of the premier forms of racing around the world since its inaugural season in 1950. A Formula season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix, which take place worldwide on both purpose-built circuits and closed public roads. Most events occur in rural locations on purpose-built tracks, but several events, most notably the Rio Palito Grand Prix take place on city streets. Formula cars are the fastest regulated road-course racing cars in the world, owing to very high cornering speeds achieved through the generation of large amounts of aerodynamic downforce. The cars allow wide front and rear wings, and wide tyres, resulting in peak cornering forces near 6.5 lateral g and top speeds of around 350 km/h (215 mph).

For clarification, maximum of two drivers per nation, preferably one due to limited slots (I can be adjustable, but for sake of maintaining realism, not every country involved will have 2 drivers)

“--So, how’s work going?”

Alyosha adjusted his neck to cradle the phone against his shoulder as he jotted down a memo for the team bulletin, the dim name of his wife glowing down on his face like a white cheek tattoo.

“Same as always, I guess.”

“Nothing exciting?”

Alyosha stifled a short laugh.
“Wish I could say, but you know how it is. It’s sensitive stuff. The colonel would have my a*s if I said something that shouldn’t be public knowledge.”

There was a disappointed noise on the other end of the line.
“Aw. Not even a little?”

The captain simply sighed with a small shake of his head as he stood, moving out into the hallway to paste the notice on the chipboard before beating a quick retreat into his office again.
“Okay, okay. Fine, maybe a little bit. But no telling anybody, right?”

“Pff. It’s not like I’m your wife or anything.”

“Don’t gimme that. I’m serious.”

He paused for a moment before sifting through more folder-enclosed paperwork stacked a centimeter high on the side of the stiff-legged office desk.

“...You heard about the thing that went down in Navakala, right?”

“Who hasn’t?”

“And the airstrike right after?”

“Yeah, of course. Did you–?”

“--Maybe I had a little something to do with that.”

There was harsh silence for a long time.

“...I was afraid you’d say that. Was it really as bad as it sounded? Please tell me it wasn’t.”

“Nobody got shot in the city. Everybody made it out okay, but… well, we had to kill some mean folks. Didn’t want to, but we had no choice. One of ‘em was about half a second from killing Ludmila, if you remember me talk about her. But we got out of there just fine.”

“I’m… I understand. I’m glad you’re okay, is all.”

“Yeah, we’re all fine. That airstrike was… yeah, a lot more people died there. None of my guys, no. But… it was nasty stuff. Was a little hard to sleep after that, for a few days.”

“But you’re alright now, I hope?”

“Yeah, of course. It’s just… it’s hard. That stuff sticks with you. TV and newspapers don’t do it justice. Seeing it for real… it hits different.”

“I know. But you’re protecting us. Innocent people. That’s what matters.”

“I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for that, anyhow. Don’t worry, I’m not slipping now.”

Another long pause.

“Well, I’m happy you’re alive and so are the kids. How are your guys doing? Like that new guy you were talking about?”

“The new guy… Oh right, Dominik?”

“Yeah, that guy.”

“I really like him. He’s been great since he showed up. Everybody likes having him around and he’s… I dunno. It’s quiet charisma. He doesn’t expect praise for anything, he just does his job. Shares his insight and his skills, he’s quick-thinking, and he’s the best shooter out of all of us. He’s a little cagey sometimes, but… aren’t we all?”

“He’s got a sweet spot in your heart already, doesn’t he? And it only took me three years to do that, sheesh.”

“He’s earned my respect, that’s what. He actually saved my life in the city, in fact, when we got shot at first.”

“Sounds like a decent guy. Better than the last few you recruited?”

“Oh, yeah, by a long shot. And–”

There was a harsh knock on the door.

“Looks like I got a visitor–”

The door flew open and stopped halfway. A bronzed head adorned with a mop of black hair peeked through into the space.

“--Oh, hey Dom. Speak of the spirit. I’m on the phone, can it wait–?”

His subordinate merely shook his head with an etch of concern scratched on his face.
“--We got a problem.”

Alyosha’s scrunched complexion dropped in an instant, the realization slapping him square in the face. He held his finger up, before mouthing the words to him.
“Give me one second.”

He went back to his phone again.

“Is… everything okay?”

“Yeah. Got someone in my office and they need me, like ASAP. Can I call you back?”

“...Okay. I’ll let you go. Love you lots.”

“Love you too, sweetheart.”

He pulled the phone away from his cheek, lowering his head to nod at the intruder who had plowed through the door into his office.

Dominik still had all of his gear on– rifle on the sling, vest, bag, gloves, all of it. He looked like he had just run a 5K, with a harsh gleam of sweat arcing across his forehead. After a heavy breath, the marksman cracked all of his knuckles in a row.

“Sorry. That was the wife, wasn’t it?”

“Yeah, it was. I was going to call you over when I heard that you were back, but you took care of that part already. What’s going on? You look like you just beat a f*ckin’ mountain bear in a marathon.”

“About that… well, do you want the long version or the short one?”

Alyosha squinted at him pointedly.
“Start with the short one.”

“Those weapons that we tracked and blew up back in May. I took the intel that we got and ran it back to the investigation sniffer guys at VISCOM. They did a bit of digging while the three of us were out there looking for other leads.”

“And?”

“We tracked and found another cell of hostile paramilitary while we were observing the area around Krasna. Though based on what we found, I’d rather call them separatists at this point.”

“Separatists…?”

“Uh-huh. I say that because of…”

Dominik reached behind him and pulled his phone off his utility belt. The screen lit up as he tapped the screen a few times with his gloved finger before he dropped it onto the captain’s desk with a heavy clatter.
“--This.”

Alyosha scooped up the device into his weather-beaten hands.

It was a photograph of what looked like a grand heist plan, with circles, yarn, photos, and permanent marker scrawled all over a brightly-lit whiteboard.

“The f*ck is all that?”

“These insurgent cells. We’ve been intercepting smaller cells and small smuggling groups. But they’ve been communicating. There’s a much larger force out there that’s assembling, and they’re planning a lot bigger. I mean right now. This is a rebellion, or an insurrection, whatever you want to call it.”

Dominik took a moment to vent his stress by spearing his arm back out towards the door, loosely pointing in the direction of the offices of the upper brass.
“...And with all due respect, captain, we’re horrendously underestimating them right now.”

“Don’t freak out, Dom. We’re talking a unified rebellion?”

“Looks like it.”

“I get that they don’t like the Crown, but… the northern peoples don’t have a common cause other than hating the Crown. It was like that with Shestopyor, at least. But I can’t think of a reason to unite, unless–”

“--Funny you mention that. Look there, in the bottom right corner.”

Considering the density of the image, it was hard to see, but with a zoom and a squint, he could see it.

GOVERNMENT???
-> Need POPULIST LEADER.

A sticky note was plastered under this question.

NARVIK (x) -> BAD
LYDIA DEVYN? -> MUCH BETTER

Along with a list of certain policy choices of hers, painting her out to be a rather decent political candidate.

Alyosha’s eyes swelled.
“They want… the… the f*ckin’ Archduchess? As a populist!?”

Dominik chewed his lip with a matter-of-fact nod.
“Yes. Really.”

“I almost… don’t know what to say. Holy sh*t. This is…”

“--Nuts?”

“--Yeah, let’s go with that. By the Six. Is the Crown supporting this? Part of it, anyway?”

“I mean, that’s her name right there, isn’t it?”

“Well, yeah, no sh*t. If the Archduchess is involved, then we got… a big f*ckin’ problem.”

“I dunno. What if she’s not even involved, and they just picked her because she’s their best chance?”

“I’d expect that if they planned to make her the populist leader of a unified political movement in the Empire, she’d know something about it, right? Would they just not tell her, wait and surprise her on her f*ckin’ birthday or something? Surprise, here’s the Imperial Crown, we love you! Like what the f*ck?”

“When you put it like that, it does sound… odd.”

“That’s borderline ridiculous. I mean, it would be funny if it wasn’t a direct threat to national security.”

“...You would think so. It’s a fair point.”

“Yeah.”

Alyosha held the phone out to his subordinate.
“Send that to my tablet. I’m gonna run this up to the brass ASAP.”

“I already gave it to the colonel, and he… he reacted the same way you did. Last I heard, it’s on its way to the Emperor’s desk.”

“You’re gunning for my job, are you?”

“No. Not yet, anyway.”

“Heh, okay. Well, thanks anyway. That’s good initiative and I appreciate it. Call the other two back here, I gotta have a word with them too.”

“You want me to stay?”

“Uh…”
The captain looked at the clock on the wall.

11:31.

“I’ll call them here. You have until 1200, do whatever you want. I dunno, shed that gear or something, get yourself cleaned up. But then come back here. I have to fully debrief you.”

“Alright. See you in thirty.”

“Yeah.”

The marksman took his phone back and left the office as quickly as he’d come in.

Less than a minute later, the command tablet on the desk buzzed quietly as the photo file came through.

Alyosha sat back down at the desk, picking his cell phone back up from where he’d put it down.
“Well… sh*t.”

He reached over to the short-range radio laying on the corner closest to him.

Click.

“Kupchenko, Valentinovich, check in. Kupchenko and Valentinovich.”

“Hey, Yoshi. Yeah, sorry. Just got back.”
“Uh-huh, we’re back. What’chu want?”

“I’m gonna need you two to come to my office at 1200 so I can debrief your element. Raikov already came by and I gave him the shtick. He’ll meet you here.”

“Fine by me.”
“A’ight. We’ll see ya’.”

He released the plastic case before glancing to his left out of the office window. Frost and snow matted the ground below, and dark clouds loomed on the horizon.

The weight of existential dread pressed down on him the longer he stared.

AL-SHAAD SENTENCED TO LIFE
Intervention by the new Terehanian Government allowed the former dictator to avoid the death penalty

CASAAT - Asaad al-Shaad, the dictator responsible for tens of thousands of deaths during his time in power, including in the violent suppression of student-led protests, torturous campaigns of interrogation and executions in his prisons, and the poisoning of hundreds in freedom-fighter towns, has been sentenced to life for his crimes. Al-Shaad was found guilty on 182 counts of crimes against humanity, along with more than 50 charges of corruption. Prosecutors were originally seeking the death penalty, but a last-minute intervention by President Amir al Abadi changed the tones. "Al-Shaad deserves death," President al Abadi said, "but as horrific as his crimes were, this is not his tyranny. We are a new Terehan. Death is not a punishment man can carry out, only Allah. Allah will judge al-Shaad in the end days, but until then, we extend mercy. He will sit in contemplation of his crimes for the rest of his life."

PRESIDENT CHERDENKO INTERVIEWED BY AIDEN REVENTON OF ZNN
Cherdenko answering questions

Dabatta- President Nikolai Cherdenko was invited on Zamastan News Network (ZNN) by Aiden Reventon, the lead political correspondent for ZNN and the host for Reventon Tonight. It was his first time as President to be interviewed on foreign news network, the interview was filmed in Dabatta with Reventon interviewing Cherdenko at the Presidential Residence for the interview. Reventon and Cherdenko talked about various topics with Reventon asking some questions and opinions on issues and about Kossmil in general, Kossmil relations with Zamastan. The interview was done in Caticeze (Zamah St'ani) English which is the language that Cherdenko is fluent in.

Aidan Reventon: “Mister President, thank you for agreeing to do this interview and agreeing to do this in person too.

President Cherdenko: “No problem, Aiden. I would like to first welcome you to Kossmil and it is my honour to be part of this interview.”

Aidan Reventon: “What was it like growing up in Kossmil during your civil war? I know that you and your family have moved away from Kurgut, your hometown, because of your father being hunted by Black Brigade, one of the major factions in the war.”

President Cherdenko: “It was very hard obviously, my old home was burned down by them because I think the story which I got from my mother was that my father got into a fight with an Black Brigade officer at a bar, he won which led them wanting revenge. So after we saw home burn down from a distance, we ran away on foot to Dabatta which likely took days I don’t remember much when I was very young. While growing up, at school we were taught about how to make molotov cocktails in preparation if enemies arrived at our homes or to quickly give to soldiers before going into battle. We were taught that the next day could be our last day, the next day could be the last we see of our families, the next day could be the day we could pick up arms to fight for homes and a better future.

Aidan Reventon: “Your country was a bitter battleground between many factions for decades, but today it is recognized as an emerging democracy and a notably strong contender for major influence in Central Adula, and on the Adulan continent as a whole. How has Kossmil adapted so quickly since the end of the civil war, and how much of that adaptation do you attribute to foreign governments?”

President Cherdenko: “To be honest I think it's mostly our old president, Mikhail Kuznetsov, may he rest in peace. He has a plan set in stone for when Kossmil becomes a united country before civil war even ends, that includes his foreign policies, his ideas on what a Kossmilian republic would be and how democracy in our nation would work. He looks at other nations' democracies across Iearth as inspirations, he used to talk a lot about the democracies of Quetana, Besmenia and obviously Zamastan but he also mentions more countries but it will be too much to list.”

Aidan Reventon: “Kossmil and Zamastan have an interesting relationship, to say the least. It goes back decades with the covert support during the wars, but while the current governments are friendly, there are significant issues which divide the two. Whether it’s competitions between WEDA and the TTPA, or diplomacy issues, what are some things that you think Kossmil and Zamastan work together well with, and what are some issues that you think are most important?”

President Cherdenko: “First I will say that Kossmil as democracy wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the support from Zamastan, President Marvin Gaviria is idolised here in Kossmil for being earliest supporter for Kossmilian democracy, there is actually graffiti mural of him close to the city centre. We owe Zamastan a lot even now, even if we are in different alliances. I think what we work well with Zamastan is on intel and information like for example we forward the information on al-Shaad regime that they had Al-Fijar sites where they used these sites to make chemical weapons. I think on the issues side, well there is the problem of rising Yuan imperialism especially now they got the island of Chitpa after they forcefully took over the island from Haduastan and now where the island is they can place weapons which can be a direct threat to Drambenburg. Another issue will be on progress on the new Terehanian Government, they need to make sure that Terehan has bright future and be right path for democracy as whole and doesn’t fall into another tyrant.”

Aidan Reventon: “You took power after your predecessor’s untimely death. Political shakeups are commonplace for both of our nations, though Kossmil’s turmoil comes at the end of decades of tension. How have you, or Kossmil as a whole, been able to consolidate a working democracy despite the clear hardships?”

President Cherdenko: “We all been through a lot in this country, especially back in mid March that year, we suffered the first ever terrorist attack as a united country in Dabatta metro bombing and then for Mikhail to be assassination on 27 April, I just don’t know I think we really wanted peace to make this country work. We want a day where we could relax without the fear of being attacked or hearing air raid sirens like we did back in the war, we all want to move on. We don't want to go back to fighting and killing each other again as we have been fighting for 61 years until the signing of peace agreement on christmas day in 2021.”

Aidan Reventon: “What do you, President Cherdenko, consider to be the most pressing global issue for Kossmil, and what is the most pressing issue for the international community as a whole?”

President Cherdenko: “I mentioned this before but it is Yuan imperialism, they stand on very thin ice because we are so close to see outright war breaking. For Zamastan people, it will be very close to home to see massive war nearly breaking out on Ausiana. I’m open on the idea of TTPA and WEDA members meet up if Yuan pull another action like they did with Chitpa or even worst, we need action and not words because Yuan will see like it owler post comment and just ignore it.”
More of the interview will be fully available for viewing on ZNN, on the Reventon Tonight.

Collapse of Democratic Party of Kossmil
Pantilimon taking away by Kossmilian Police

Kurget - Today, statement was released today on Owler by Luka Vlasov, the member of Assembly for Kurget who represent the Democratic Party (of Kossmil) to confirm reports of the party's internal drama after announcing the dissolution of the party with the outright majority of party members agreeing to dissolve the party. We asked Vlasov, to disclose more on the situation in the party and he released some damning statements, he talked about the culture within the party that he sums up as “ culture of toxicity and paranoia” with accusations being pointed at the more influential members in the party for being the main aggravators behind it.

He also confirmed the reports of the now ex leader of the party, Vladimir Pantilimon being arrested on drug offences and mishandling of funds after the Kossmilian police had raided the party offices, Pantilimon house and his businesses. Luka has disclose that Pantilimon has chronic addiction to heroin which most members of the party didn’t know until of his arrest, Luka then states that he can’t disclose names for legal reasons but two of the board members who are very close has Pantilimon, has known of Pantilimon addictions but for some time, they decided not to disclose it to other members of the party.

We asked expelled members of the party of their time as members, they all mostly talked about how if you step out of line then you will face severe consequences. One member talked about how she was expelled from the party after she criticised board members for apparently getting close relations with some of the Kossmil tobacco businesses, including the Kossmilian Tobacco Company. It was rumoured that they will get some financial backing in return for rejecting laws that will affect the tobacco companies or if they get in office they will then plan to give them tax breaks.

In the aftermath of the raid, it was also found that Pantilimon has spent a lot of the party funds on his lifestyle and invested in the business he owns, currently in police custody. Vlasov has also announced that he and a couple of members in the assembly will be creating a new political party called the “Reform Party”, leader for the new party has not been selected yet but they have a hill to climb in the aftermath of the drama. The Reform Party wasn’t the only party formed from the Democratic Party remains as there is “The Left” which is formed by former left wing members of the Democratic.

The importance of ethnic minority political parties after expanding seats in Assembly
Kossmilian Assembly

Leniya- The Assembly today released a statement about the seat increase from 120 to 168, for a majority government you need 86 seats now, this was backed by all of the parties in the assembly including the ruling party, Traditionalist Party. The Kossmilian Government has announced the date for legislative election which will be on the 1st July, so all of the parties has one mouth of campaigning for seats in the assembly, this will bring some interesting narratives like will the Traditionalist have majority or will Milosevic Populist Party gain seats or even lose seats and the same could be said for Communists but more interestingly will be the potential impact of political parties that represent ethnic minority community all over Kossmil.

We sent one of our journalists to Leniya to interview Jörg Hassler, the leader of the All-Besmenian Bloc. He set up the party back around january of this year with the main aim of being rival to the Populist Party, it present itself as more moderate choice in leniya region between Populist (Osipovists) and National Union (Neo-Ochsenbeins) especially the latter as voice for the Besmenian community in Kossmil, Kossmil-Besmenians are the descents of West Besmenian soldiers who decide to stay and settled Kossmil after West Besmenia pull out of support for the Leniya Union in Kossmilian Civil War in 1966. We asked Hassler about the potential impact ability these political parties that represent ethnic minorities can have for the upcoming legislative election, he confidently stated “I believe so, because we want our voices heard after neglectfulness towards our community which could be said the same for other communities across Kossmil. We can be the deciding factor that government can’t get their majority ”

Beside the All-Besmenian Bloc for the Besmenian community, there is also Kossmilian Islam Party who represent the Kossmilian Muslims community who are mostly based in Zhivir region. There are rumours of a party to be founded that will represent the Kossmilian Jewish community in the southern regions of Kossmil.

LIVE: ZALLUABED ELECTIONS | AL-AKHTAR LOSES REELECTION
The President was seeking a third term, but his Conservative Party lost dramatically to the LLP

President Zayyaan al-Akhtar gloomingly arrives at a rally for supporters shortly after losing the national election.

In a major shift of political dynamics in Zalluabed, incumbent President Zayyaan al-Akhtar and his Conservative Party lost the general election to MP Husani Antar and his Liberal League Party, and though the defeat was narrow, it is the first time in nearly 20 years that the incumbent party has lost an election. Zalluabed's parliament, now near evenly divided by a Liberal League majority and a combined minority coalition consisting of the Conservatives and the New National Party, is likely to impose sweeping social, economic, and administrative reforms in Zalluabed, as al-Akhtar's 6+ years in office have been marked by dramatic increases in military spending, controversial policies regarding the economy, and foreign relations decisions. Husani Antar and LLP leadership have long called for a Parliamentary referendum to determine the status of Huad, which now is plausibly able to achieve independence in the coming terms. Additionally, factors determining the status of TTPA membership is on the table, as Antar has been highly critical of the organization.

"We are honored that the people of Zalluabed have entrusted us and have chosen this new path forward," Husani Antar boomed at a rally celebrating his election victory. "Zalluabed will once again be the thriving gem of South Adula as we create and restore a new, adaptive, admissible nation!"

Antar and the LLP ran on a platform of liberalization on all factors, including a social policy of increasing foreign migration and wages for foreign workers. Zalluabed has been hit badly by the migrant crisis, which has seen a large percentage of the nation's population leaving the country on often perilous voyages to reach other, more economically prosperous nations like Emmiria or Quetana. Husani Antar has placed the blame in the past 4 years on the economic policies of al-Akhtar's government, which he claims have essentially stripped away opportunities for not only foreign workers, but Zalluabedi citizens in lower class communities. As such, the homelessness rate in Zalluabed has greatly soared in the past two years and the amount of people living in poverty has also grown. Husani Antar and fellow LLP leaders have cited the pursuit of foreign contracted infrastructure projects, like the Drambenburgian and Haduastani-backed Kurdajar Nuclear Power or the Beleroskov-backed Coast Road, as taking away jobs from needy Zalluabedis. As such, Zalluabed's economy has shrunk in the past few years, which has effected trade and wages.

Administrative issues have also mired the election, with the LLP pointing strongly to al-Akhtar's consolidation of executive power. Al-Akhtar was able to use loopholes in the constitution's definitions of presidential responsibility to remove parliamentary-appointed ministers and replace them with loyalists, and he was also able to dip into funding for executive responsibility to expand a lavish lifestyle, including a mega yacht and private plane not officially sponsored by the government, but effectively funded by it. The LLP claimed that the only thing which kept al-Akhtar from being an effective dictator was the constitutional provisions requiring separation of the legislature and the presidency, and the LLP has proposed a constitutional amendment which would further restrict the executive power of the president.

Perhaps most notably for the impact on the election, were social issues. A law passed two years ago in the conservative-controlled parliament imposed a mandatory hijab policy for women, a decision which was met with major youth-led protests around the country. While the law was not revoked, parliament did amend it in response to the protests by clarifying that hijab wearing was only required for women who were in public without a spouse. The amendment did little to appease the protestors, and it was evident that the unpopularity of the bill contributed to the LLP's sweeping election this week, as they were carried by more than 90% of the woman vote and 68% of the youth vote.

Siniapore mistakenly fires supersonic missile killing one
Siniapore's President Tee Hsien Moong said that Siniapore's navy mistakenly launched a supersonic anti-ship missile from a naval base, killing one person and injuring three, officials say. A patrol boat was undergoing a drill inspection in the city's main military facility when the Jung Feng III missile was fired, Siniapore's Central News Agency (CNA) reported. It launched in the direction of the Jinchon Sea, and hit a fishing boat off the Dzhu islands, CNA added. A Siniaporean official said the launch was "a mechanical error" and was "not politically motivated". There were conflicting reports about the missile's range. The defence ministry said its range was greater than 100km (62 miles), but would not provide exact figures. The boat's captain, a Siniaporean man, has been killed, defence officials say.

PADC and WEDA cooperation in question ahead of midterm parliamentary elections

viewtopic.php?p=40671231#p40671231

As the midterm parliamentary elections approach this weekend, the question of cooperation between Austrolis and WEDA face an uncertain future. In October 2022, President Amanda Ferosan resigned a deal which allowed WEDA forces to use 3 of Austrolis' airbases for two years, with the lease ending on October 5th, 2024. However, the president's Liberal Party is posed for a narrow race with the Conservative minority, which is overall a staunch critic of WEDA's presence in Austrolis. Evident of this is the membership of Austrolis in the Pan-Adula Defense Coalition (PADC), which was approved by the parliament narrowly thanks to all conservative MPs voting for, joined by just enough liberal MPs to push the resolution through. Ferosan resided to not endorse PADC membership, stating at the time that she preferred the democratic system decide, but she has since voiced discontent with the organization for interpreted limits on national security interactions with other non-member nations.
