As President Urskabu leaves the conversation and walks towards the Qolaysian party, President MacTavish stops him for a moment and grips his forearm in a traditional Ruskaynian greeting. He leans in and speaks in his thick Ruskaynian brogue
"Ah, President Urskabu, I was glad to hear you had no need of my mercenaries. War is our business, but it is a nasty business, especially in situations such as this, and I'm grateful it could be avoided."
President Raso was fairly new to everyone as she had recently been elected to her first term. She was most familiar with the Prime Minister of Vitosium but everyone else she had only had brief encounters with. One of the major topics President Raso would have input on was the new environment regulations being pushed forward. While Timeria supported new clean energy policies, it also relied on oil production and fossil fuels. President Raso had plans to advocate for a plan that would decrease the burden on oil producing nations. While some may see this as a process trying to slow down global efforts many in Congress have already put forward legislation to reduce Timeria’s carbon footprint. There were also a number of security concerns she would like to discuss.
She spots President MacTavish of Ruskayn and approaches him to start a conversation “Good evening President MacTavish.”
She nods slightly.
“Yes... I had nothing to do with the military action. I hadn’t even known it would happen... I found out about it hours later. They kept it from me...”
Prime Minister Lindsey Danielson-Mora stood, quickly adjusting her outfit as she led her delegation to greet other members of the conference. Her Minister of Diplomacy followed behind her, acting as a reluctant support. She didn't have much of a relationship with Minister Leara-Gesa, as they had disagreements on a number of policies. Still, they had to maintain a professional relationship, especially in Tregueux.
They nodded at multiple dignitaries as they walked by, and the Prime Minister internally sighed as she looked at the groups. We aren't interesting, powerful, or active enough to warrant anyone talking to us for too long. I guess that's the bad side of peaceful neutrality. Still, at least it's tranquil.
You understand how concerning that is, your highness. Our intelligence agencies were ready to commit a fleet to the region to counter your forces in the event of a conflict. You should exercise your right as soveriegn to tell your prime minister to behave.
Drambenburg, Preli, and Alecburgh
MacTavish turned and saw the Timerian President and briskly strode towards her with an easy smile on his face.
"Ah, President Raso! A pleasure as always. I trust this fine evening finds you well?"
President Moreau: "Can I offer you advice, your highness? Don't let people look down on you because you're young. It was against my better judgement and the judgement of my state department to invite, forgive me, a minor, to these proceedings. You're the only person within a royal family here, with the exception of Emperor von Wettin, who is a fossil compared to you. My advice is to put your foot down. Strong arm your Prime Minister. Show him that you aren't willing to be pushed around and avoided. This may be controversial, but as the head of your nation you have certain powers entitled to you that allow you to overcome those who are supposed to be your subbordinates. Exercise that.
Enjoy the entertainment, your highness. I'm not sure what the rules on alcohol age are in Alecburgh, but here in Zamastan it's 18. We'll make an exception for you in this case."
President Alceste D'Aboville stands next to President Moreau, standing at a stiff stance to match his posture and height.
"President Moreau! I don't think I've had the honor! I'm President Alceste D'Aboville of Ivite. I wanted to meet you, sir, and thank you for the warm welcome. General Ibes of the Ivite Armed Forces met with you at the beginning of your term in September in Tofino alongside some of the other Northeast Nortua military leaders, but I'm very pleased to finally have this personal opportunity to meet you.
And very suddenly, something does come her way, or rather, someone. The Chancellor of Grelend, a huge bear of a man, with a huge silver beard and a belly to match stoops down in front of her. A huge smile crinkles his cheeks and he greets her in a hearty voice.
"Ah! You must be the young Queen of Alecburgh! Daina, was it? What are your thoughts on this grand summit?"
Diana looks up... and up... and up... and holy crap. Nobody in Alecburgh grew this tall... well the people she's met at least.
"D-Diana sir..."
Her voice quivers... he was giant...
"I-It's good... I just had a lovely t-t-talk with President M-Moreau..."
Grelend and Nancaya
The Chancellor claps himself on the forehead and frowns.
"I deeply apologize, Your Highness. I get your name wrong, and I haven't even said my own. I'm Chancellor Grant Marca of Grelend. I'm glad you had a chance to talk to Moreau! Good fellow, that."
He leans in a little and looks a little concerned.
"My dear girl, are you quite alright? You seem a bit ill."
He chuckles
"Reminds me of my first summit. So bored I fell asleep at the table and no one bothered to wake me until the custodians were cleaning up after! Ah but that was many years ago. And you didn't come here to listen to an old man like myself tell old boring stories."
Darkness. Nothing but darkness and the tree frogs croaking... it was a peaceful night. As the croaking continues, a new sound to the natural harmony. Drums.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
They get louder... they get stronger. You look around... there is no escape. You must face it head on... the drums are getting closer, they are getting even louder!
As your eyes slowly open, you make out a singular bright light in the stark black rainforest. The light multiplies into many... flames. As you watch, the flames dance through the leaves until you see shadows cascading across the natural scenery. The drums are so loud you can’t hear yourself think and as all hope is lost... you see them. Muscular men and women, clothed in primitive like clothing with body paint and masks. One walks ahead of the others as they play with the flames or bang the drums to an anarchic beat. He is about same height, and same mass as the others, but he has a larger black tattoo down both of his arms as well as bright red and yellow face paint on his face. He raises his right fist and the drums cease in unison.
“My name is President Nekoda Sigiro... welcome to Port Sio.”
"Ah yes I have been told I am a shockingly tall fellow. Especially to one of your exceptionally small physique. Grelend is directly north of you, past the continent of Adula. We largely deal in agricultural exports and pride ourselves on our long allegiances with many nations in the region. You're always welcome to come by for a visit! We'll be sure to make you feel well at home!"
President Zholdoshev is wandering around when he catches eyes with President Moreau in a lull between meeting other diplomats.
Zholdoshev: Mr. Moreau, Hello Good Sir. I'm President Alik Zholdoshev of Egilanak although you probably already know that. I don't think I've met you yet since your coming into power in September I believe, Congratulations by the way. Honor to meet you sir, I can't wait for this summit to go underway, a ton of potential for collaboration and so knock on wood we can get a lot done in the next week. Anyway, hope this is one of many times meeting you, and to much collaboration not only between Zamastan & Egilanak but with the rest of Iearth.
It's a pleasure to meet you, President Zholdoshev. I haven't had the honor. I'd love to invite you to Tofino sometime, we can have a formal state banquet. We've had a long history of Egilanak culture integrated into ours for decades, so I'm sure your presence would be much appreciated.
