That would be good, though it will probably only be an hour or so until have dinner if we start at that time. Whiich isn't necessarily a problem depending on what you have time for today (or how long we want to make it). Afterwards I guess I have time from around 8pm CET to 10pm CET. It depends... What do you think? And what about you Nickel Empire? Also, anyone else joining this call?

I'm off all day today, so I'm pretty much free for whatever. We can do later if you prefer. Does maybe 2:00 (I think that's 8 for you) work better for you?

Come to think of it, probably yes, because I've just come from work at 5:30pm... perhaps this a better idea...

Okay! I'll say something in the facebook chat to make sure everyone gets it.

Nice schatting yesterday. Say, I forgot to ask during the call but has any of you ever played D&D? And if not, would any of you be interested in it?

I have not, though I have been interested in wanting to try it.

I have some experience (though not much and mainly the Star Wars variant). But I thought we may want to try doing D&D a session in the future. It's like NS roleplay only with rules and a game leader and stuff (so... basically better thought through in most aspects...)

I'll be happy to give it a try, too.

Also don't mind if we all want to play a video game or something in the future, too.

I can recommend a good one, one that is Belgian in origin :)

It's called divinity original sin 2, a turn based top down RPG made for Coop play. It's also very close to D&D rules (not excactly however, though the studio that made it is now making baldur's gate 3 which is an official D&d video game title).

I mean, if something like this interests you. Playing this would certainly eliminate some bvarriers to entry though.

Yes, I wouldn't mind trying it!

Cool!

Besides those I can also think of games like Civilisation (I have 4, 5 and 6. Played 5 extensively. 6 I acquired a month ago or so but haven't yet put much time into it.) and or Hearts of iron IV.
Those are more "strategy" games rather than RPG's and you'll need a looooot of time to get anywhere significant with these.
But still worthy of consideration I think.

Holy sh!t, my area is getting hit hard with new covid cases. Yesterday we set a new record of 42 (previous was 40) and today we set another new record of 72.

Edit: Apparently most of the cases we've been getting in the surge is the result of Hutterite colonies (German farmers who live in communes).

Do you like any survival games?

wow, stay safe dude. You guys don't seem to be getting a break.

I have played the forest and minecraft.

They shut down my health region by limiting gatherings to 10 people and mandating masks in indoor and outdoor public areas.

Paranoia and anxiety have been up for the past week from a second covid scare.

Out of the list that Nickel named, I've played minecraft. Quite a lot even, though most of it was years ago. I mainly like it for its building features rather than its survival theme though.
I've also played space engineers. It's a very cool game but it gets tedious after a while. The building process is sloooooooooow. When something is finished it is cool but it takes so much time it becomes more work than play.
I do want to give it a serious try again though.

Welcome to where I've been for the last month...

Hey guys! Sorry it’s been a while, life has been really busy on my end.

Currently, I am world building for a science fiction novel I’m writing, and was wondering if you guys would be cool with me using Cinderia as the name of the capital planet of one of the factions in the galaxy (the Verenusian People’s Union, an almost Star Trek Federation style faction)? It’s fine if not, I figured it’d be a nice nod to the region, since honestly if I never joined NS and met you guys, my life would’ve taken a drastically different path, and I probably wouldn’t even be writing the novel in the first place lol

Aside from that, how is everyone doing? It seems things are getting more hectic by the day now.

Ah yeah I only have played in creative mode in SE, we'd need some way to jack the rates up if we were to play survival. I've never actually played minecraft before. My favorite game has always been Ark, the dinosaur survival game (always happy to play that with friends, I actually have my own private server).

Hey! How've you been? Yeah, things are getting more hectic....

On a random note, does anyone have this random urge to build a 1700's style frigate and sail it around the ocean and explore? Maybe its just me...

I’ve been holding up okay. About to celebrate 10 months with my girlfriend, so that’s exciting. Aside from that, bills have been tight, so I’m actually thinking of switching occupations, just not entirely sure what; I don’t really care what work I do, I’m more just interested in getting the bills paid, y’know?

My transition is going really well. For the first time since ever, I’ve been able to look into the mirror and see *myself* instead of “Dan,” so that’s really exciting! So far, the majority of the transphobia I’ve met has been online and not IRL, which is also nice.

We can pack the bottom with dirt and grow crops lol. The bilge could serve as fertilizer. We’d just need to keep the soil’s salinity in check! :3

Congratulations! That's awesome! And yeah people's belief that your quality or worth is wrapped up in the job you do has bothered me a great.

That's also really great to hear! I'm glad you're not encountering much bigotry in person; I figured something like that would be common in the Philly area, its always struck me as a fairly provincial area.

Let's do it!!!!

I'm doing fine. Apart fromt he fact that I was supposed to be on holiday right about now...
About the use of the name. I have used it a lot in my "personal" projects for a lot of different things. Once even for a space faring nation here on nationstates (which I never got really far with, you know, the space opera RP's we once did about two, maybe three years ago I think...). And I've used it as a placeholder name for a desert, dragon-worhsipping civilisation in a D&D campaign I'm writing but I've now "modified" the name a bit to Khindaria instead of Cinderia. On the one hand I feel kind of reluctant to let go of this name because if your novel becomes a great success, which I think has a very good chance from what I've seen so far, I can't really use it in any of my own potential future publications. Which, on the other hand, will most likely never materialize, so... Go ahead I suppose.

I nominate the Spiegelretourschip ship. I've always had some sort of a weakness for the Dutch East-india company, even though it is from the Netherlands (perhaps it is the fact that it was founded with Flemish capital but I don't really know...)

Seems like an interesting theory.
