Just a question for my own education: What are the criteria for which regions our region establishes embassies? And once established, for maintaining an embassy? For example, let's say one region we established an embassy with decides (real example) to stand against that great capitalist Donald Trump! :-). Should we remove our embassy? :-)

Merry Christmas everyone!

You know it's usually leftists who use unnecessary modifiers like great in front of descriptions of their leaders. Then again Trump has been a democrat all his life and loves to use simple adjectives over and over again so maybe it's fitting.
Just waiting for the fooled masses to start calling him dear leader.

I don't like socialism, but I don't necessarily hate socialists. Many are quite reasonable and decent people. Misguided? Perhaps. Deserving of hate? Not usually. Only a few deserve hate, namely socialist dictators of the world who oppress their citizens.

It is important to be respectful of people with different ideologies. We may believe we are right, but they believe they are right. Only through civil discourse and debate can we convince them that free markets and little federal power are truly better.

Hatred is such a bitter pill. I prefer targeted repression and transcendence through sacraments and self-denial. I call it "win-win".

Yeah, we just send them to the mines here in the CRG, maybe we should try the peaceful approach for once.

Hat Is a strong word, full of emotion hidden below the surface. I prefer peace.

Personally I think socialism is far less likely to be so selfish. In the US capitalism only seems to prove that those who are self-centered can succeed and advance. Those of us who genuinely care about others are taken advantage of and given no help.

In a perfect world of truly good people, capitalism and small government could work. Unfortunately we're human and there is always someone who will take advantage of the system. Just remember that there is always someone abusing the system in all types of government, I just feel in a socialist society it's much more likely to be divided correctly and you're more free to pursue the life that will make you happy.

In free enterprise it becomes more about what you can afford, and competition with your neighbor to have the better car, pool, ect. I guess what I'm saying is I could get on board with capitalism and even advocate for it, if I believed the people in charge of it weren't only looking out for the needs of those around them while pretending they're doing it for the good of the people. Wait am I talking about socialism again? :P Do you see the problem?

Another comment I'd like to make is I prefer dictators to representation. When you're sick of a dictator you know who to overthrow and replace. How do you overthrow an elected house of 400+ people?

Metacrisis

Socialism promotes laziness and apathy. If everything gets equally divided, what incentive is there to do anything? Fry cook gets the same as a neurosurgeon? Why would I waste my time to not ever get ahead? I'd do as little as possible, and let other people bust their butts to drag my laziness up to the average. There's no incentive in socialism.
