"Satire" baby. Don't bother raising it. The mods have no interest in maintaining consistency, everything is all right just as it is.
I have precious little understanding about how all this works, but aren't the results often odd because the statistics have become like too much hair in a knot that can't be teased out, so it becomes it's own thing and no-one knows really what to do about it? Teasing the thing out leaves a crinkled mess. Rinse, wipe and repeat?
There's a lot in that. The site was never expected to last this long. Many elements which were "good enough" for a disposable publicity site have proved woefully inadequate in the longer term. There has been some work done to improve the system, but there are a number of technical issues which limit what can be done.
That said, there are areas which could be tackled, but the current emphasis on churning out more and more issues is taking away from time which could be sent improving consistency.

FWWC: Canada 1-2 Netherlands, USA 2-0 Sweden.
Canada will face Sweden in the next round. It should be a tight game.
Today's loss might be a a blessing in disguise, facing USA so early in a tournament is a tall order. Sweden is a powerful opponent, don't get me wrong. Still, better than facing USA in stage of competition, I think. Anyway, these ladies, all of them and from all sides, are awesome.
I was absolutely gutted to see Scotland go out in the way they did.

FWWC:
Germany 3-0 Nigeria. Pretty much as expected.
Australia 1-1 Norway. A hard fought game, which finally went to penalties. Norway win.
FWWC:
England 3-0 Cameroon. The ref lost control of the game, but England stayed composed and deserved the win.
France 2-1 Brazil. The hosts made a meal of it, but scraped through.
Spain 1-2 USA. The USA were a lot less impressive against a strong Spanish team. Their defence definitely showed a few cracks. 2 penalties took them through.
Sweden 1-0 Canada. Boo. I hate to say it, but Sweden deserved the win. Canada were a bit off the boil, and at this level you can't afford that.
Italy 2-0 China. I thought this would be closer. Both sides played well, but in the end Italy were clearly better.
Netherlands 2-1 Japan. I expected the Netherlands to dominate this, but they only just made it with a late penalty. Japan missed a few chances, so can't complain too hard, though.
The first semi-final is on Thursday when Norway face England. Too close to call IMHO.
The big game USA-France is on Friday, then Italy-Netherlands and Germany-Sweden are both scheduled for Saturday.
FWWC: USA 2-1 France.
An excellent game. USA hustled from the start and France were put off by the pace of the game. They showed a few short bursts of real class, but couldn't maintain it.
I think Rapinoe has clearly walked the walk here, scoring both the USA's goals, and providing a lot of key link play.
FWWC:
Netherlands 2-0 Italy. Both teams looked to be on a similar level last outing, but Italy had stepped up whereas the Netherlands were not at their best. This time they reverted to form.
Germany 1-2 Sweden. Here the formbook was all in Germany's favour. Sweden disagreed. Emphatically.
England face the USA on Tuesday, Sweden play the Netherlands on Wednesday.
The 3rd place play-off will be on Saturday, and the final on Sunday.
