[] 963 IR [] A Most Peculiar Invitation [] Unknown Castle, Thunia [] Ethics committee of the scpf []
Everything seemed to be a normal day in Thunia. At the unknown castle near what is assumed to be the capital of the Thunians, the Skaven continued to reside in their cave and would occasionally come out to arrange food deliveries and shipments of other, sometimes odd things. The Thunians themselves simply went about their lives as usual, with nothing special going on since the arrival of the crazed rat-men several years ago. But now something new and perhaps even more peculiar had occurred. Thunian guards one morning spotted an animal they did not recognize on the horizon, flying towards them. The animal was a small bat, around the size of a regular vampire bat or fruit bat. The Thunians were wary, since they had never seen the animal before, but allowed it to continue on it's path. But to their surprise, it landed on the wall next to one of the guards, who noticed that the bat had been carrying a letter not unlike a carrier pigeon. The guard took the letter and delivered it to the leader of the castle, who was the same commander who had introduced the Skaven to Thunia. The letter had a seal that seemed to be made of solid blood, with the heraldry of a noble house that none of them recognized. The letter read this:

"Greetings, Lord Commander.

Do not ask how we have found you or your nation, for that shall be revealed shortly. I am Camilla Von Karling, and I rule a noble house far off to the west, even past the home of the rat-men you call neighbors. My husband and I have been watching you for quite a while now, and have determined you and your nation to potentially be of great diplomatic use to us. I shall be arriving with a retinue of men to discuss potential relations between our two realms shortly. I shall be arriving during the night for reasons that you should not worry yourself with now. I hope that our meeting will prove to be very fruitful.

With Regards, Camilla Von Karling"

FYI it’s not near the capitol, the place where the two races met eachother was a small outpost fort on the west edge of the kingdom, although because of the new trade I’ll have it upgraded to something greater when I respond.

Huradanaster Fort

Since the coming of the Skaven the sub-district of once little known settlements had grown beyond once envisioned. Based off the trade the town to the east had grown into that of thousands, the fort had been upgraded to something suitable for the Lord Commander Alleyëha, now resembling a castle in the old cities that coronated banners of blue upon the walls every rising to the eyes of the masses, declaring might over the sprawling gathering of stone and what else. In similar contradiction the castle-fort stood over the cold expanse of only the cold ground until it either came upon the strange machines to the north or the thousands to the East, both were only a few miles away but yet a feeling of loneliness was to fall upon anyone who to serve the mission of dirtying the carpets of this mansion of defense. That was until the lands west of the Skaven was to bring attention to its existence to the commander’s residence.

The admiration of a velvet covered front of a old novel was to be brought to a halt by the entrance of two guards with the letter in presenting hands. Alleyëha, curious as messages that weren’t with the recognized seals came never, took the letter back to his desk to read its contents.

By the end of the next hour all that occupied the fort-castle, the guards making their once a week practice drills that of two a weeks, the messengers putting themselves on horseback for a longer journey than previously taken for their destination was that of the center of the realm, the cleaners and all other low standers performing their task with a greater effort, were all preparing for the theatre of the ceremony that would welcome the mysterious guests.

It was deep in the night when the guards finally spotted them. Around half a dozen shadowy figures in the night, their only visible feature being their glowing red eyes not unlike those of the Skaven. But these people were much more humanoid, standing more upright with a smaller overall frame than the monstrous rats. They approached the gates of the castle and lit up torches to let the guards know that they were there. One of them knocked on the gates for good measure. Now that they were lit up by torches, the guards could get a good look at them. They were all riding on horseback, the horses being darker and stronger than those familiar to the inhabitants of East Asia. The lead figure was obviously a woman, dressed in a long black gown that symbolized a high status of royalty. Beside her was a man dressed in typical formal clothes, though not nearly as extravagant as those of the woman. Behind both of them were four men, or what could be assumed were men. They were so covered in armor that only their eyes could be seen from the outside, and they behaved with such mechanical and emotionless movement that one could compare them to living suits of armor.

(I'd imagine that there would still be horses in East Asia as a whole, so... I'm comparing them to those rather than the reaorses you are using)
