Novilliwit wrote:"I am Kasno, and the Cambaroidean diplomat. your letter was quite vague, what do you wish to discuss?"

Camilla chuckles slightly before responding. "Yes, my apologies for that. we have not been in contact with mortals in a very long time, you see. I believe I should first give context for what the purpose of this visit is. I believe the guard has already told you what we are, yes? That may not have answered the question fully, so I shall explain further. we are vampires, or scientifically, Homo Sapiens Sanguinius. Our Sire, Heinrich Von Karling, used to be a servant of the Kingdom of God centuries ago, however he wanted to drive the monsters out from the land, namely species such as yours. He eventually found the power he wanted, at the cost of our curse. we do not feed in the same way mortals do, you see... we sate our hunger by feeding off of the blood of mortal beings."

"I am every bit as curious as you are, sir... I have lived for centuries on this Earth, and still I remain just as I was the day I became reborn." Heinrich would wince a bit at the injection of the needle, the entry wound leaking a tiny bit of blood before it almost immediately heals completely as if it wasn't even there.

he then takes a flat dull instrument and runs it along his arm, scraping off the dead skin. then he deposits the skin sample into a jar and says "Please flip over, it will be much easier to reach your spine that way." while grabbing a large needle.

"So you summoned me to tell me you wish to fight us? to drive us out from our lands as well? Even if I am killed here, your assaults will fail. If you do not wish to kill me, then I will be taking my leave." Kasno turns and begins walking to the door.

Heinrich complies without much fuss, since he figures that going along with it is the best thing he can do right now. He still tries to catch whatever glances of the surrounding area he can so that he can make notes of where this place is and whether they are worth interacting with in the future.

"No no, you misunderstand, good sir. we seek diplomatic relations with your kind. Our kind hungers, but we have run out of good sources of sustenance in our own lands. The mortals in the Kingdom of God are much better prey. All I ask is that in the future, our two realms have the possibility of allying to take down the humans in the Kingdom of God. Once that is finished, you shall not hear from us again if that is what you wish."

Out of a large window directly ahead of him, a huge metropolis sprawls, with only the slightest signs of decay, surrounded by a great wall. Farther ahead of the city, the Skaven encampment can be seen, smoke rising from the chimney of every house. Suddenly, Heinrich feels a sharp pain in his back which persists for around half a second, then ceases. A few seconds later, Alvus says: "I have collected all the material needed and we will now move to the second leg of this activity, you may stand, however I suggest you sit upon the table, as some of the counter spells may leave you a bit dizzy."

"Then I apologize for my hastiness. the perceived threat of death tends to make us mortals a bit on edge. as for allying you directly, I can make no commitments, as this "Kingdom of God" is unknown to us, and it would be unwise for us to strike on an unknown enemy, when they could be friendly, or powerful enough to crush our armies, but I can assure you that no war will take place between us. Any information on the kingdom would, however be appreciated."

Heinrich sits up on the table as suggested, fixing some of his clothes to keep himself presentable. Oddly enough, the spinal fluid collected from Heinrich seems to be regular spinal fluid that is heavily diluted with blood, to the point where it would be nearly indistinguishable to a normal scholar. "Your city seems very advanced. More advanced than anything I have seen, both in life and unlife."

Some people just don't have "no" in their vocabulary, do they?

"That is understandable. I have not been to the realm of Men in many centuries, but the Royal Advisor Grimwald here can tell you more." Once she is finished, another man emerges from a separate hallway. This man carries the same unique physical traits that mark a vampire, however he seems to carry himself with much less of a dignified manner than Camilla does, suggesting a more humble background. "To explain the Kingdom of God I must first ask two questions. Are you familiar with the race of Humanity, and are you familiar with the human concept of Christianity?"

"There is no better path to advancement than time, or so I have found." says Alvius "and we have had 4,000 years. Now, I will cast a series of spells upon you, and I would like you to tell me how you feel." He says, then casts a spell meant to counter elemental magic.

(Heinrich specifically uses Blood Magic, something typically unique to vampires but can be learned by mortals with enough training and focus. Stuff like cutting off blood flow to the brain, slowing people down by just lowering their blood flow in general, as well as just typical vampire magic like forcing eternal darkness and stuff like that.)

Heinrich doesn't seem to react much to this counter spell, since he isn't really in tune with the elements as much as more primitive civilizations are. "Don't feel much. Only a slight breeze, almost..."

"I am familiar enough. I lived in the hinterlands in the southwest for some years, near a small human village practicing a form. they attempted to kill me for being a demon. I did not stick around to learn the scripture."

"Yes, that is a common side effect of their fanaticism... the Kingdom of God is the largest refuge of humanity, situated in the same area where their religion was founded. Many of their founders were descendants of the inhabitants of the ancient continent of Europe, if you are familiar with it. In fact, many of the older nobles and guards you see here are European themselves. I however, was once a native of the Kingdom of God myself. They are so fanatical in their devotion to their faith that they refuse to interact with anyone who does not look like them and share their beliefs. Our Sire, Heinrich, was once of their most devoted warriors before he became disillusioned with their fanatical faith, and was cursed to become the first of our kind. Now he harbors a deep resentment of humanity, believing their God to be the cause for his affliction, and wishing to take it out on those who would dream to kill him in His name. Taking over the Kingdom of God would satisfy his vengeance, and ensure that our kind are able to sustain our immense hunger for centuries to come."
