The sun will take 5 billion years to "die".
I doubt a giant solar explosion will be near enough to happen - unless it was the Sun (but that wouldn't happen for billions of years).
The magnectic position of the earth just makes compasses go the other way round.
Earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis only affect certain areas on the globe, often near the tectonic plates.
So I think we're safe.
