Assembly of Independent Nations Regional Message Board

Rio Grande States wrote:I chose number 2

Yes, I like the second one also

As my first act as President, I would like to put forth to the region two Acts of legislation, which can be read here:

The Introduction of Bills Act

Preamble: An Act intended to make the process of proposing legislative and Constitutional amendments efficient, via an ordered procedure specified within the Act.

1) A nation which wishes to put forward a Bill to the Assembly of Independent Nations must notify the region via lodging a message on the RMB. The names of nations which wish to put forward a Bill will be added to a list, on a first-come, first-served basis.

2) Nations will be alerted via telegram and RMB when their Bill is at the front of the queue, and is thus ready to be put forward to the Assembly of Independent Nations

3) Once a nation's Bill has been put forth, and it gains the support of a majority of nations in the Region, the nation putting forth the Bill may call for a vote on said Bill. However, if the Bill does not gain the support of a majority of nations in the Region, there will be two days allocated to debate the Bill. If any changes are successfully proposed and debated, they must be amended to the Bill before it is put forth again.

4) Once the criteria under §1-3 have been satisfied, the Bill will be put to a vote, where, as specified in Article IV of the Constitution, it must pass with the support of a two-thirds majority of Congress.

The Inactive Congress Act

Preamble: An Act intended to make the process of passing legislation more efficient in the event of inactivity within the Region.

1) Article IV of our Constitution states that all amendments must be passed with a two-thirds majority in the regional Congress. In the event that this becomes impossible due to inactivity, a simple majority (i.e. 50+1%) of all active members of the Congress in favour shall result in passage of the Bill.

2) If the number of active members of the regional Congress falls below 10, then the Congressional vote will be foregone, and the Bill will immediately be passed to the Regional Council.

3) In the event that the number of total members of the regional Congress falls below 10, then each member shall have one (1) vote, and a simple majority in favour (i.e. 50+1%) shall result in passage of the Bill.

You will have an opportunity to read over, and vote for these pieces of legislation.

-President Grand Eureka

Well, it appears as if we have lost our first VP. In such a case, I am calling on Grand Eureka to select who should be his new VP. If no one is selected in 3 days, I will open the position to anyone who wants it.

Shouldn’t the head of the other party be VVP?

First, we need to figure out why the hell this happened.
Second, I'll begin the vetting process promptly.
Third, all legislative processes are suspended until there is a new Vice President.

Wait what happened? The VP left the region?

Well, he’s blocked me.

Oh my, so I guess Southtopia just up and left, without rhyme or reason as to why?

Well, I guess we'll not only be having a WA Delegate election, but also a VP election... sigh. :|

Never would have thought Southtopia would be a traitor.
