The Raj & The Empire
The British Raj for the past several centuries has sat as the jewel of the British Empire. As well as a subcontinent within it's own right in the region of Asia. Despite that religious feud and divisions threaten to tear the country apart. However, despite this many inside the Raj secularists esprcially. Believe I'd they succeed well enough, they can keep it united and ensure equal representation among Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians alike. The world awaits and holds its breath as these aspects become ever more important.

The Royalty
Edward VIII, has officially moved to the Raj after relinquishing the crown of England and all his titles at behest of his mother. However, despite this many Indians feel it's just a move to better incorporate India into England. Shockingly howrver, over the past few weeks Edward, while initially viewing Indian culture degenerate and backwards. Has slowly grown admiration and respect for the Indians, especially the Sikhs. Which is why, to everyone's amazement even perhaps back home in the channels something that wouldn't be believed possible happened.

Edward himself, had filed divorce after being caught cheating with an Indian daughter among one of the Princely family's who's thought to have distant ties to the Mughals themselves. This, in itself was shocking by itself. But to only add to it, Edward ended up enacting a royal marriage with the Indian woman. With many rumors she'll soon birth a child. The reaction by the royal family is still let unknown. But it seems with each day Edward adopts Indian customs and cultures more and more, even beginning to gain sympathy for independence movements in India itself. Edward himself, has decided that while he may have relinquished title sat home, perhaps he could form new ones within India itself.

Internal Reforms
With Edwards, growing sympathy for the Indians, many shocking moves were made by Edward which has began to significantly reform the internal structure of India socially & politically. Namely, a decree was officially passed by Edward, requiring all British born citizens who wish to make India their home to intermingle and even mix with natives in India. Otherwise, in the event of Indian independence they will be forced to return home and their estates seized by the Indian crown.

Secondly, Edward has began the process of removing apartheid and the caste system the British had put in place to seperate the Anglos and indians, striking laws null that force native Indians to get off a sidewalk if an Anglo is walking on it. This act, while giving many Indians favor towards Edward, has also pushed for stronger moves of independence.

Thirdly, Edward has banned extremist voices on either sides of the spectrum or secretly have them jailed or killed. While the internal political structure is reformed to heavily favor the secularists rather than Islamic or Hindu nationalists and extremists. This move, will not only politically ensure division of the country won't happen. But slowly begin the move of fully integrating Pakistan, Ceylon and Bangladesh with India herself. With vast amounts of propaganda in Hindi & Urdu calling for unity, defense & solidarity among all Indians no matter the creed or color. Which has birthed an idea of "Indian Unitarian Nationalism". Or in other terms a concept of "Hindustan".

Some of the ways the now King of India has done this, has been the move of better giving Muslims more representation along with Hindus & Buddhists throughout the Raj. Both socially and politically, which has helped douse anger and resentment among the average citizen and making many nationalist and religious extremist leaders and politicians lose their favor. While giving "Hindustani" and "Indian Unity" politicians as well as "Secularists" more power. Especially as Edward has made moves to meet with the British royal family regarding Indian independence in the coming years. Edward himself writing a letter to his mother, the queen of England.

Dear Mother,

I write to you in hopes that you respond most earnestly as soon as possible. As you well know, initially I abhorred the Indian people & colonies. But over time I've learned to accept many of these natives as...I would say a fellow Anglo in the channels. I have also come to respect and amore many of these Indians courage regarding the moves towards an independent India, or as I'm sure you and father eould call, a "Raj". But I view it as much more. I view it as...well a move for my own independence from home. I ask you or even father meet with me for talks regarding India and her future.

Economic Measures
While India is quote profitable for the Empire, Edward being both an administrator and looking for the best interests of India and her people. As well, ehat many historians later believed as moves to hevaiky secure indian support along all spheres of the spectrum in the nstion. Has reorganized the economic policies regarding the territories to the home isles. Such as & not included in official papers but in practice;

•Nationalization of state industry under direct Raj control
•Removal of Anglo power regarding the extraction of natural resources, delegating it to native Indians to begin the process of giving them experience in handling a nation
•Removal of any foreign companies who are unfairly abusing India's rich economic wealth and resources, replacing them with newly formed Indian led companies & businesses
•Removal of Anglo prejudice & privledges within the social strata of Indian society
•Officially seizing any military industries in the Raj itself
•Establishing various proto-governmental sectors of the economy. To begin reforming the Indian economy from resource extraction and exports. To slowly producing their own goods and utilizing resources they have to fuel this initative, for a more independent & nationalized economy that isn't reliant to the channel islands themselves.

Egyptian Updates
A YEAR AGO the Free Officer Movement couped the King of Egypt, led by Generals Naguib and Nasser. The fate of the King has finally been decided and orders were given to escort him into exile to Italy. This morning it was announced by the new government that Muhammad Naguib will be inaugurated as Egypt's first President, ending the monarchist rule over Egypt. A crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood is also expected as they incite riots and violence in Egypt, which has been condemned by the RCC. Naguib has called for the UN and the US to press the British Empire to cede control of the Suez Canal to Egypt, demanding a resolution on the matter be passed.
