I don't want this Region to die either, but the problems go much deeper than a lack of clarity around the rules. This region cannot survive in it's current form, and there are two main reasons for this:
1: Core members are leaving, and we can't replace them. 3 of the 6 "new" nations have been people that I knew IRL and persuaded to join the game. So far, only 1 of the "new" nations (Synodos) has properly and continuously participated in the game, and even then, he hasn't been active for nearly a month now (guessing with that one). Xeola has somewhat contributed, but hasn't actually performed any combat in the war that they started, only covered some small internal affairs that don't really fit with the war. The final new member CTE'd. We aren't getting any new "core" members, and the old ones are, let's face it, starting to grow up. The USSR put it best in a Discord announcement:
I personally think that TSL can likely overcome these issues, and a WW2 might just help. Speaking of which,
2: We've RP'd ourselves into a corner. As far as I can see, the world has become divided into two main factions, both lead by superpowers, and a war between them is inevitable. If either side wins, they will achieve a global hegemony, and the chaos that once drove this region will cease. That's why I think we'll need to start anew. And when I say start anew, I don't mean we need to scrap everything. Remember when the regional map was made up of islands? I don't. We changed the map and semi-reset the RP before I joined, and I only know about this because reading the RMB is more interesting than schoolwork, but I think we could do the same kind of semi-reset, resetting everyone's power levels but not needing to start from scratch.
I just wanna jump far enough to finish most of my research projects, so 1-2 years is enough for me. If anyone else needs more time though, I do have a couple ideas for what my nation could do.
