Region: The Hole To Hide In

The rise of the Humanist Approach sect of Florism also brought with it a wave of isolationism. The sudden cancellation of the UBI program caused an uproar amongst much of the population who saw the extra income increase their quality of life, doubly so when the foreign fighter aircraft acquisition was leaked to the public. Nothing short of a hundred petitions containing hundreds of thousands of signatures each, mostly from the northern half of Basaran, were dumped onto the Speaker of the Congregation’s podium during a session of congress.

The tagline for these petitions, when it came known to the media was “Never another Pontricare” which cited the spectacular failure of the BNS to hold the bay against a sudden onslaught of Blayredeshian and Woleve ships. This massive defeat also caused famous Admiral, Alvin Valkrie, to retire after the “Peace With Honor” was signed.

Part of this bill, hamfisted in by King Asvard, included NAP’s with [natio]Archron Empire[/nation] and [nation]Woleve Atraland[nation] and a supply of trade to the latter.

Additionally to the resistance to intervention in Tengerina’s giants, the petitions also called for a withdrawal from the heavily resistant puppet state of Tearth. After a long week of debates and measures, the Tengarina Neutrality Act (TNA) was signed, prohibiting the nation from sending soldiers, equipment and performing other aspects in the area.

The withdrawal from Tearth was not a favored move by the military upper brass but they were not given a choice on the matter. The stockpiles of Basar equipment were emptied, with some of it being handed over to the current government to keep it from falling to internal resistance forces should another arise.

The Viking’s Influence Wanes…

RP: Celebration

As the Basars began their process of withdrawal from Tearth, the turtle population began to celebrate. Huge crowds celebrated out in the streets of big cities as they knew they were finally independent and safe from the threat of terrorist groups and insurgencies. The XY and members of parliament gave speeches on live TV on how the nation of turtles shall strive now that it was fully independent. With almost 10 years of fighting, terrorism, more fighting, and insurgencies, the turtles could begin to live a life of normality.
