"Nothing We Can Do," says Empress

In light of further civil strive within the FCI igniting igniting yet another civil war, members of the Imperial Senate have approached the Empress for the nation's course of action. Her response: nothing. "We have spent lives, capital, political goodwill, and more throughout the FCI, attempting to keep the nation stable. This is, increasingly, seeming to be an exercise in futility. The FCI and its colonies, clearly, are not culturally or politically unified, and thus clashes are almost inevitable. It is heartbreaking to say as such, but there is simply nothing we can do to end these cycles of violence. I fear getting directly involved will only lead to greater violence, more death, and the perpetuation of a cycle that has continued for decades.

"Make no mistake, I condemn in the strongest terms the attempted assassination of the Federation's president, and reaffirm our willingness to provide humanitarian aid, but to be frank, the Empire cannot afford to send its people into a meat grinder in foreign stars. We are open to refugees should they desire to flee, but unless the situation changes dramatically, I assure you, my fellow Republicans, that there will be no intervention in the Americas."

Following this short speech, RSC elements moved to slightly heightened patrol stances, but ultimately the Empire appears to be conducting business as usual. Snap polling of the populace confirms that while some want the Empire to at least offer token military support as a show of good faith, 86% of the population is "vehemently opposed" to military action in the FCI.
