| 2025 JULY | 0080 YS | Finnish Criticism Sends Shockwaves Through Norse Government | OSLO | COPENHAGEN |

      Recent criticism and decrees of “mismanagement” have emboldened politicians and the like.

Just days ago, numerous Finnish politicians, bolstered by right-wing populist Alvi Karvonen, criticized the Norse government for its alleged mismanagement of the Kven people. For any readers who may not know, the Kven people are considered to be a Balto-Finnic minority in Norr. Housed, almost exclusively, in the northernmost reaches of Norr, primarily in the cities of Tromsø and Vadsø. They [the Kven people] have been a legal minority in Norr since the 1990s and have had their language recognized by the Kingdom since 2005. Their language is recognized by linguistic scholars as nearly “indistinguishable” from the modern Finnish language.

The Norse government, headed by Norræsósíalisti (Norse Socialist Party / NORSOC) member Katrín Jakobsdóttir, was quick to respond to these allegations of mismanagement. Huge pools and piles of evidence were brought up to show how the Norse government has been accommodating and respectful to the Finnic minority peoples living in Norr for hundreds upon hundreds of years. Collectively, the evidence that was brought up were the following; several civil rights acts that have been passed giving collective and inalienable rights to all citizens of Norr regardless of race or creed, documentation proving that Kven has been a protected language untampered with over the past thirty years, documentation proving that there has been no attempts over the past hundred years by the Norse government to outbreed or harm the Kven people, and documentation providing proof that the Kven homeland has never once in the several hundred years of Norr’s existence ever been tampered with or harmed.

It was not only politicians that came to the defense of the Norse government but it was also citizens, athletes and filmmakers who came to speak out against this radical Finnish questioneering and fabrication. Norse filmmaker of Finnish heritage and descent, Tommy Wirkola. A native of Finnmark, having been born in Alta near Tromsø, Wirkola has produced and directed several movies that have received international praise and global recognition, including the film; ‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’. Wirkola said quote; “The idea that there is a single oppressed minority in Norr is almost an impossible thought to have. Never once as a kid did I feel like I was overcoming some obstacle based on where I was from or my heritage. I’m proud to be from Norr and I’m also proud to be Finnish. Neither one comes before the other in my eyes”. Mister Wirkola was not the only person of international note that made a statement of support for the Norse Kingdom. Several olympians and athletes that have represented Norr in the past have also made statements. The notable ones of Finnish descent are; Juni Marie Benjaminsen, John-olav Einemo, and Mikko Kokslien.

Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Prime Minister of Norr, made a public statement on the matter, saying quote;

         " . . . Those of which who would question His Majesty’s government’s transparency and the honesty
        of the members of my Council are welcomed to view Norr as upclose and personal as they may
        want. The Norse government has no reason to hide anything and will not. In fact, we encourage
        the Finnish president, Kai Mykkänen as well as Mister Alvi Karvonen to visit Finnmark to view
        how their Norse represented cousins fair as of late. "

        — Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Prime Minister of Norr

The Royal Family has made no formal comment on this issue but has stated their “staunch and unquestioning support” of Prime Minister Jakobsdottir and her initiatives.
