History
Unlike today, Pallata was one of the poorest kingdoms in the region of present-day Sakiria. It was mostly an agricultural region, until Pacia conquered it. Pacia forced this land to industrialize. Factories were put up, and Pallatians were forced to work. Human rights barely even existed and crime was rife throughout out the archipelago. Soon, on April 27, 1622, the Pworasihita Protests roared across the region. Workers, farmers, anybody were shouting and rioting on the streets. How did Pacia reply to this mass unrest? With lead, of course! Nearly all the protesters were shot dead with volleys and volleys of bullets. It was only on June 12, 1623 that they would get their independence. Which was delivered through bigger lead (they pounded the Pacian governor of Sakiria's building with stolen artillery). During the Colonization Era, Pallata was barely able to stand on 2 legs. The economy was the bare minimum above bad, and the military was more like a police force. That was, until President Marko Quino arrived. He made radical changes to the economy, most of which were unintentionally in favor of Pallata and not in Denetos (another reasons why Denetians hate Sakiria). During both World Wars, Pallata's military and economy size increased drastically because they sold steel and bauxite, both of which Sakiria needed a lot of. But Pallata became something of a traitor in Sakiria, because they found out numerous Pallatian corporations and even the government sold precious resources for cold, hard cash. This is why Sakiria started keeping Pallata on an increasingly tighter leash. All goods must be to and from Sakiria. You need go through 2 more years of college for indoctrination. Go to the work camp because you committed a crime (no matter how minor). But the leash became too tight. At least the Pallatians thought so. They rioted like it was April 27, 1622. Civilians marching in formation with signs raised high, buildings were set aflame, and the demand for less restrictions reached even to the highest parts of the government. On April 27, 1994, the Sakirian 'binds' were lifted. People cheered across the globe, now that constant human rights abuse wasn't happening. Now, Pallata was free to grow into the rich region it is today.
