_{| MINISTRY OF FOREIGN RELATIONS - | With Saudi Arabia being the main supplier of oil to Japan, Prime Minister Abe, after meeting with his Cabinet, publicly announced that Japan would be willing to build a high-speed rail line between the two largest cities in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh and Mecca. At a Press Conference, Prime Minister Abe said, "The time has come to focus now on the Middle East . . . let's start by strengthening our friendship and the partnership that Japan has with Saudi Arabia." After his statement, Abe added, "I will soon be making an official visit to Riyadh to discuss more about this project." After the Press Conference, the Prime Minister met with the CEOs of the three largest Japanese automotive companies, Toyota, Nissan and Subaru, and they all agreed to enter the Saudi automotive market. The total budget for the rail project will be just over USD $ 30 Billion and will be ready between 2023 or 2024.}
