Emperor Alexander II gave his official verdict on the guilt or innocence of Field Marshal Joaquín Barrueco Dengra and the 7,000 prisoners taken.
The 7,000 defendants were charged with the following charges:
Conspiracy to commit high treason High treason Conspiracy to dethrone the Emperor Conspiracy to dethrone God Murder Mass murder Attacking civilians Looting Pillaging Arson Armed Robbery Blasphemy Desertion Assassination of Martín Gutiérrez Sánchez Attempted assassination of Augusto Cabañeras Gutiérrez Attempted assassination of Alexander II Terrorism Waging war on God Waging war on the Empire Espionage
All 7,000 were found guilty of all charges and all were sentenced to death.
Low ranking soldiers (Corporal or lower) were condemned to firing squad while high ranking soldiers (above Corporal) were condemned to hanging. Low ranking officers (Lieutenant Colonel or lower) were condemned to firing squad while high ranking officers (Brigadier, Lieutenant General, General) were condemned to hanging. Field Marshal Joaquín Barrueco Dengra was condemned to public crucifixion in front of the San Salvador Imperial Palace. Civilians are welcomed to attend. All executions were scheduled for February 14.
