Mayor Adán Tamayo Navarro was assassinated today amidst the 2020 Salvadoran protests. He was replaced by Alexander Giammattei Falla. The change in leadership appeased the moderate protestors, however the radicals continued to protest. The moderate protestors began counterprotesting the radicals’ cries for independence.
