The Burning of Montgomery As the civilians are majority evacuated from Montgomery, the military takes action.
Anything important to the monarchists is taken or destroyed, and any valuables are stolen or, again, destroyed. This follows the idea of Scorched-Earth policy, and the Napoleonic era Burning of Moscow.
Military officials remaining in the city have already realized that Montgomery will fall to the March Norians, but have decided to make it’s fall as bloody as possible. One reason for this is to discredit March noria on the International Stage, hoping to drive away possible allies for the fascist nation by showing it to be a barbaric regime that cares nothing for the people and only for short-term gains.
The defenders decide to hide within buildings, using whatever they can to push back the enemy. If it comes to it, the destruction of major buildings will commence.
As planned by the enemy, the destruction of medical centers in the city has decreased the morale of soldiers. For others, however, it gives fuel to the burning fire that is hatred and the need for revenge.
Citizens inside the city are being armed, and told to defend themselves and their families with everything they got, as they will not survive when the fascists come.
