1994 Economic Boom?

Over the past few years since the FIS has taken over Algeria, many new economic plans were implemented. Communism was integrated into Algeria, Soviet energy companies and car companies were integrated into the economy as well. Vaz and Gazprom has done a number of good things for the country. The new high speed passenger train has helped the infrastructure as well. And the oil being produced from Algeria is now being sold to European countries through Not xav loads of money has just been flooding the AOPE, Algerian Oil and Petroleum Exports. Not to mention the Algerian market is open to eastern countries. So imports and exports has been thriving under strict government control of course. Many analysts suspects that Algeria may be going through a boom in the near by future Economy wise and expect the GDP to shoot up in 5 years by astounding numbers. The exact numbers aren't known yet but the news and media has been going crazy over this statement praising Ali Belhadj. I qoute from an Algerian Media Outlet 'It just seems like the FIS and Ali Belhadj can do no wrong'.

Agricultural Reforms

Ali Belhadj has made up a new Agricultural plan of reforms to get Algeria into the Agribusiness. The First part of the plan is to take 10% of land used by residential and industrial sectors and convert it to a Agricultural sector. The second part of the plan is to give out incentives and loans to farmers, to encourage them to start growing crops like wheat, barley, oats, wine grapes, olives, citrus, figs, and dates. Machinery needed to up the speed of farming and the effectiveness has been a top focus of some of the industries in Algeria, building all types of farming machinery that would make the job easier and more profitable. The third part of the plan is for the government to start hiring unemployed workers to work on the fields and get their hands dirty. The fourth part of the plan is find a market in the east that would like those type of crops and sell it to them. The profit earned will then be translated to paying the farmers.

Fighting Desertification

The people of Algeria have noticed that the desert seems to be expanding north wards. The implications of it is worrying as it will start turning good fertile land into a sandy desert. So with that Belhadj has taken to his advisers and talked to some scientists on what they could do. The solution they came up with is called the Great Line of Trees the plan is to plant trees along the line of the desert and the fertile land. After a few years start pushing the trees back trying to get the soil back. The trees will help because it will stop soil erosion which is the main cause of desertification in Algeria, and it will help the atmosphere and environment. So with that plan in mind the Algeria government is hiring and sending workers over to the edge of the fertile lands to plant a long line of trees that go from the west border of Algeria to the east.
