Pencil Sharpeners 2 wrote:New General Assembly Resolution:
The resolution "Repeal: “Freedom Of Expression”" is at vote here.

The main arguments

FOR:
- Intentionally false or misleading information should not be protected.

AGAINST:
- Misleading information may not actually be protected in “Freedom Of Expression” due to the 'academic fraud' exemption
- the defects in “Freedom Of Expression” are not sufficient to warrant a repeal

I'd love to know everybody's opinions on this resolution!

I've been very vocally against. The repeal is not needed to fix the bug. We don't repeal the first amendment when it's limits are defined by SCOTUS. The original resolution has no mention of commercial speech so a resolution to add these fixes would have sufficed rather than a broad repeal. This could result in a sufficiently weaker resolution to replace.
