Nocturniica wrote:Greetings,
I represent the Republic of Nocturniica, and would like to say that I shall do my best to uphold our standards.
We are a nation of Nocturnii, commonly known as "Bat Ponies."
First I would like to dispel some common misconcenptions:
1. We are NOT vampires or cannibals.
2. We did NOT support Nightmare Moon when she attempted to... dispose of Celestia a thousand years ago. That was only a small band of mercenaries. We shall discuss this no further.
3. Yes, we are nocturnal, but we also live in the daytime in order to do necessary business. No, we are not allergic to sunlight or anything like that.
With that said, I shall mainly focus on passing legislations. I probably will not do much else.
We are quite social creatures, but we in the government have much to worry about, making us a bit more... terse. Please forgive me if I seem too quiet or too brief.
Sincerely,
Bianca Ardelean, High Council member of the Most Serene Republic of Nocturniica
(Note: This is a slight role playing exercise making me flesh out my headcanons. Due to real life I probably won't be on here much, hence I may or may not reply to anything you say. Sorry :( )

As the representative of Arthur C Squawk, leader of the Laser-Wielding Commune of Intergalactic Penguins, I hereby proclaim to thee:

Sup bruh?

As a High Councilor and also as a Representative, I say... nothing much, "bruh."

*giggles*

We are simply ironing out basic matters, drafting accounts and factbooks for our nation, et cetera.

The griffon lands

Finally! I got the issue that lets The Griffon Lands have gladiatorial tournaments.

Guten tag!

Eqqus

Come join our poll in the Inn! What Fictional religion would you choose to follow?

page=poll/p=92545

I don't recognize all of the religions on that list, but all of the religions I do recognize are evil.

How about "none of the above"?

But then I'm a militant atheist.

And by "militant", I mean "if any gods show up, I'll open fire on them".

I remember when I was a warmonger.

Oh wait.

I still am.

Guten Morgen, mein Freund!

Any of you guys know Kantai Collection?

Dammit...

I know I haven't specifically chosen a leader for Eqqus yet, but I've been generally making decisions like I feel like Celestia would (with advice from Luna).

I just made my last decision like Twilight, and yes, that is a huge difference, since there is a representative council and other political figures to deal with as well. Just because the Princesses have ponies' best interests at heart doesn't mean the other officials do, and a lax attitude toward legal agreements (spirit of the law) may be good for the Princesses, it sets an unhealthy precedent for the Council and administrators.

(In other words, I got a lot of Corruption as a result.)

...No, I'm not taking this too seriously. Why do you ask?

I'm doing the same. Going full Celestia DOES spike corruption pretty hard.

Dude, never go full Celestia :D

Well, NationStates is pretty much built around a democratic or parliamentary system.

So I'm kinda going the route of the Celestia in "Rites of Ascension" (by CvBrony), where there is a Council of representatives, and various nobles with low, but still significant political power. And they are all pretty much corrupt in some way.

I mean, Celestia technically has the power to refute them all (just like in NationStates), but it comes at severe political cost. Like losing the nation.

After all, "Leaders only have the power their followers give them. Without a flock, a shepherd is merely a wanderer."

What're ye two talkin' about?

When I make decisions on issues, I don't do what I think is right, I roleplay as a Equestria-like nation of ponies.

Same with my other nation, The griffon lands.

In one of my recent decisions, I used the Twilight rationale - good intentions, but without political experience. Since NationStates expects there to be representative bodies, it doesn't matter that you have good intentions, being lax with laws means that there will be corruption.

Better that there be a small evil, and one pony gets hurt than create a systematic problem that affects hundreds down the line.

I reacted like Twilight, who thought, "My citizen!" instead of thinking of long-term consequences.

...I take this roleplaying thing incredibly seriously. That probably comes from my fanfic writing.

(Although I have not yet done a full, in-character post with my nation yet, since I haven't really seen an opportunity in this group to do that yet.)

Ooh! What's the thing yer nation took its pride on?

Pretty much, I saved a pony from a corrupt legal contract, but in the process, made all legal contracts not binding.

Any other things?

Ha! Now my ponies are vegetarians.

Cake or Pie? let the battle begin!!!

(Poll at my place)

*sigh* So of course, after Rainbow Dash has, at great length, learned to respect tortoises, she naturally now retroactively has looked up to them as an inspiration all along.

At least her parents weren't called Dash.

Also, poll! Not much nuance to this one, but I didn't want a spineless "both sides have a point" compromise. Having a point doesn't help if you're not willing to stand up for it. You can't make a compromise if you're unwilling to admit there's a disagreement.

Can someone explain to me why I keep seeing people posting spoilers for three episodes into the future? :((

Canada's releasing the episodes early (2 every week). We're up to an episode related to Canterlot ATM.

And i'd say RD's parents. RD had a point, but she went too far (ever so slightly)

Maybe so. Then again, her parents had a point about Rainbow Dash being awesome, but they also went too far.
