I love isopods but they are more closely related to cockroaches than fish. It is not a technicality that they are not fish. Humans are far more closely related to fish than isopods are.

Good afternoon!
Last night's first Citizen gathering was a big success! There was a lot of discussion, and we got a better since of a lot of issues. The meeting agenda, action items, and a complete transcript of the gathering are available to view here: https://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?topic=6234
Again, thanks to everyone who showed up. Hopefully this will be a continuing tool to keep Citizens, the government, and administration in touch with each other. :)
Hello, I am interested in the government stuff in NS
Rikuchar and Achlavania
Greetings, and welcome to Wintreath! What sort of government stuff are you looking for...more being part of the legislature, being part of a ministry, or just being part of the civil service in general?
Either way, your first step is to become a Citizen. You should have received a telegram when you joined with information on how to do that, or if you don't have it there's a link in the region information on this page. :)

As day light begun to slowly rise thousands of Allouxian soldiers ran into formation, towards the back of the lines General Karoline Quint listened to her commanders who were filling her I'm on their latest reports from their scouts "General the Azurans have been located roughly 10 miles from our position, scouts report that a sizable force of Infantry and Calvary are located here" -a lower rank commander points on the map towards a hill- "enemy Infantry is at the bottom of this hill with Calvary likely on their flanks" the commander continues to explain his findings to General Quint but is suddenly interrupted by her "it's a trap" she states. "Ma'mm?" Asks the commander. "The Azurans have landed in force by this time. They want us to believe that's there's only Infantry at best at this moment, their calvary will flank and cut any men we send in, artillery is likely ontop of the surrounding hills. Major, what are your thoughts?" She asks. "General I belive that we should play their game but with our rules" says the Major. "Oh? Elaborate if you will Major". Says General Quint. "As you said General this is more then likely a trap, however we could send in a few companies worth of men to draw them out of their positions and out of the effective range of their artillery, the biggest threat is the Calvary. If we can lure them out then we could have them walk into a trap of our own and destroy them." Said the Major. "Noted, commander ride Colonel Schwartz and tell him he will march 10 miles north to the enemy. He is to briefly engage and to draw them to the woods south of Antiniem (OOC name we're giving the town near the battle grounds)." General Quint then looked to the Major "Ride to Antinem and notify Colonel Von Rusch he is to move his artillery to the woods along with any Infantry or Calvary he may have"
-Antinem, 4 hours later-
The Major comes racing down the road down to the command post Von Rusch as set up, he comes barging in with written orders from General Quint. "Colonel, new orders sir" says the Major as he salutes the colonel. The colonel breaks the letters seal and briefly reads it and then looks to his commanders "All units are to move to the woods effectively immediately" he orders to his commanders "Jawhol" they all reply. Outside crowds of soldiers race to the woods "LOS LOS LOS!" they shout as horses begin to neigh due to all the commotion.
-4 miles east of Antinem-
A messenger runs to Colonel Schwartz with written orders, Schwartz breaks the seal and reads briefly. "Commander have your men ready to move" he says to the commander next to him. "Jawhol" he replies.
-2 hours later- The sounds of marching can he heard for miles and most certainly by the Azurans. A scout comes racing to Colonel Schwartz who gravely injured. "COLONEL! Enemy troops are all along that hill, enemy infantry is at the base there's no sign of Calvary yet". Reports the scout. "Right, Infantry to the center" he orders to his commander.
-Front lines-
3000 Allouxian troops march in formation towards the enemy with their bayonets at the ready, incoming canon fire lands all around them some being near missed and some being direct hits to some unlucky souls. The Allouxins come within range of the Azuran Infantry "MAKE READY" shouts one of the captains, "TAKE AIM" "FIRE" he orders. Several volleys are fired at the Azurans, the first front ranks of the enemy drop dead, shortly after the Azurans return fire taking out the front rank. "HOLD THE LINE, MAKE READY" Orders the captain. "Enemy Calvary should be attack any minute now" he thinks to himself.
Good morning! Just a reminder that Citizens still have two days to submit questions for this Saturday's all-hands Citizens gathering: https://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?board=185.0
The gathering will be on the #weekly-meetings channel of our Discord server on Saturday, November 16th at 10PM Eastern.
Also, sign-ups for the next game of Werewolf are open on the forums. It's a fun game of deceit and intrigue, and a great way to have fun with friends and regionmates. The sign-ups are here: https://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?topic=6237
Thank you for becoming a Citizen! :)
Yesterday was my mom's birthday, and it was the first snowfall of the year, and the first really cold day of the year...so those seemed to be good signs to stay home and celebrate. :P It was a fun, relaxing day, and I even got a book read I'd been meaning to read for a few months, so it was pretty great!
There's a basic guide to the government here:
Last Updated 17 April 2019
This is a quick reference of all members of government with a description of what each person and position does for the region. For a complete guide on the structure and function of the Wintrean government, check out our on-site guide: The Government of Wintreath: A Functional Guide.
Monarch: Wintermoot (Forum Profile)
The Monarch serves as the the head of government and head of state in Wintreath, and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the region, implementing the laws passed by the Storting, overseeing the region's external affairs, and determining policies related to the region's families and nobility. The Monarch also organizes and manages the regional Cabinet, called the Riksråd, which consists of the Jarls (Ministers) and Thanes (Vice-Ministers) of each ministry and serves as an advisory body to the Monarch.

Jarl of Culture: Gerrick (Nation: Geramundo) Thane of Gaming: HannahB (Nation: A unified earth) |
Foreign Affairs |
Interim Jarl of Foreign Affairs: Chanku (Nation: Terra cinis tonitrua et justitia) Thane of Diplomatic Officers: Katie (Nation: Gihuodaho) |
Regional Affairs |
Interim Jarl of Regional Affairs: Doc (Nation: French Albania) Thane of Integration: Katie (Nation: Gihuodaho) |
The Storting is the regional legislature, and is responsible for creating laws and policies for issues that have not been delegated to the Monarch in the Fundamental Laws or other relevant laws. For most legislation to pass the Storting and become law, it must be approved by a majority of both chambers of the Storting. The Storting is also responsible for accepting court cases, and if a case is accepted members of the Storting will serve as judges for the trial.
Chamber |
Description |
Underhusen |
Speaker: Chanku (Nation: Terra cinis tonitrua et justitia) The Underhusen is elected by the Citizens of the region every two months and serves as the voice of the Citizenry. After every election, the Underhusen selects a Speaker who leads the Underhusen during that term and is responsible for ensuring the procedural rules of the chamber are carried out. Campaigning and nominations for the next Underhusen election will begin on 25 May 2019, and elections will run 1-7 June 2019. |
Overhusen |
Chairman: Wuufu (Nation: Wuureath) The Overhusen is appointed by the Monarch at the conclusion of each Underhusen election and serves for concurrent terms. The Monarch also has the authority to select a Chairman, who serves the same role as the Speaker of the Underhusen and has the additional responsibility of introducing legislation passed by the other chamber. |
The names and dates are a bit outdated, but the government descriptions are still good. :)
The easiest way to get involved in the legislature is to run for the Underhusen, our lower elected chamber...and there happens to be an election coming up on December 1st. The way that will work is that a week before the first I'll put up a topic on the forums asking for people to stand for election or to nominate others to stand, and you'd want to announce that you're standing in that topic. Then you would have the opportunity to create a campaign topic...it's not required per say, but highly encouraged as some people (like me) will not vote for someone who hasn't put up a campaign. Then finally, there's voting once the election starts. There will be announcements on here too when each of those things happen, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, it might be helpful to read up on our regional Constitution and current laws: https://wintreath.com/index.php?part=law
I hope that my reply helps. Feel free to ask about anything else you have questions about, and we'll get you an answer as soon as we can. :)

The Azurans stood their ground. The entire line knew what was expected of them, and the fine officers of the Azuran army would make sure victory would come swiftly.
The officers readied their men. "MAKE READY!" The entire front line held their muskets in the "up" position, bayonets pointed towards the sky.
"PRESENT, ARMS!" The entire Azuran lines pointed their muskets down range.
"FIRE!" The entire front line opened up. However, the carnage was not over yet. The front line kneeled on its knees, and began to reload.
"REAR RANK, FIRE!" A second volley came, the 2nd line fired over the heads of the first. Then the second line kneeled.
"REAR RANK, FIRE!" The 3rd line fired over the heads of the 2nd line.
"REAR RANK, FIRE!" The 4th line fired over the heads of the 3rd. The last line of men, the 5th line, was out of range, and did not fire upon the Allouxians.
The sir was filled with smoke it made the battlefield look foggy. The Allouxians, who had just endured 4 consecutive volley fired, were now being bombarded with cannon and mortar fire.
Rifle men chose their shots carefully on the flanks, aiming for officers.
The 6,000 Sao Lucians began to try and outflank the Allouxians on the left flank. Expert skirmishes the sao Lucians were, all though they are not as disciplined as Azuran troops, they were doing their part.
