It is with great sadness that on this day I express my decision to initiate a recall vote for President Alnorud. This decision has not been made lightly, but while I am apprehensive about the potential side effects of this recall: I know that this is the right call.

This rebellion was started when several nations grew suspicious and angry over allegations of corruption and election tampering. At first I completely rejected the suggestion of faulty elections, but as time progressed and resentment grew, I decided that I had to act. I launched an investigation into the alleged crimes, and though it would displease many to know that I found no evidence of election tempering, I did find proof that the President knowingly proceeded with the elections despite the fact that two Executive Secretaries had informed him that the elections weren’t as publicized as they should be, with one not even knowing the elections were taking place.

This should not be interpreted as charges of corruption. Of that: Alnorud is clear. But the disregard for the other regions of the Federation is troubling.

I was further convinced of the need for recall when, after attempting to make peace with several high ranking members of the rebellion, Alnorud refuses the deal completely. His hold up? The fact that he’s need to call new elections for the government. It is my belief that he has become too blinded by his anger for a rebellion and hatred for Meat (a feeling, I might add that is not without warrant), that he can no longer effectively consider his options and guide the Federation to its best state.

I’m also deeply troubled by the belief of some, or rather a single Executive Secretary, that the Federation should transition into an Empire. The Warzones are and will forever be ruled by a democratic government that puts its citizens first.

Despite only living here a short time, I have enormous respect for the Federation. The idea that government can succeed in regions that are by their definition meant to be raided astonishes me. And the fact that we have managed to form a government only serves to strengthen in my mind the idea that we are truly part of something special. But “a house divided against itself cannot stand.” I have no doubt the Federation will long endure as a free and democratic society, but only if we work together and strive to put democratic principles first. Though Alnorud has become someone who I consider a friend over the past week, I cannot stand idly by while our house is being divided. So though I do so with great sadness, I reaffirm my decision to recall the President of the Warzone Federation.
