Sounds like the Bioshock Games lol.

It's good to see Hasan Minhaj talking about electoral reform. Maybe it'll get more young people involved in fixing the most fundamental issue of our democratic process. Unfortunately, he endorsed a system that still has a great number of statistical flaws.

I love America. But I’m slowly losing faith in the capacity of human logic.
I don’t think Marxism will ever be possible large-scale in America, but it is possible elsewhere, where people do not need to go through mental gymnastics of saying All Lives Matter, but start a race war over pancake syrup.

Well, I am not a student of economic theory, so I don't know what particular set of circumstances would make Marxism as feasible economic system for a population.

Wait, isn’t there an actual subsidy on beef in the US?
We need to subsidize cannabis.
In Asadiston, the most successful narco-state, the dollar is backed by cannabis.

Maybe Nixon was secretly a pro-cannabis guy then xD

"The American government spends $38 billion each year to subsidize the meat and dairy industries, but only $17 million each year to subsidize fruits and vegetables."

Neither am I XD
I’m more of an anthropologist. But communalism is more prevalent in pre-industrial societies. Especially ones were rice is the staple crop. As it required more upkeep and maintaining, more people had to work cooperatively to ensure a successful harvest. Unfortunately, Southern Democrats, did the bare minimum to keep the increasingly disgruntled farmers satisfied following the Civil War.

TDLR: American society is built on selfishness and celebrates it as a virtue/signal of success. Whites after the Civil War didn’t want to pick their own cotton, so the Dixiecrats distracted them with welfare programs and creating racial tension, while continuing to force Black Americans into subservience through the prison-industrial complex and sharecropping, which the elites used to force the poor of both races into wage slavery.

It wouldn’t be as far fetched as it sounds in real life, cannabis is a readily available renewable resource than is more valuable the long hallowed gold.

Cannabis is a renewable resource xD

It's technically not wrong, but it sounds like it is lol

Crazy right? And considering very few countries have legalized it, the market cannot be overwhelmed.

Oh before we came to America from Scotland via Canada, my family partook in the massacre of Glencoe after enjoying days of hospitality from the MacDonalds.

Beef barbeque is slap xD

I don't think Marxism would work here. The "American Dream" is too prevalent. Look at Elon Musk. He could have continued living in South Africa and join the military, but said he went to America because you could do anything here. Got rich off of Paypal, and now we have SpaceX and Tesla. The spirit of Marxism doesn't cater to competition, but a standard of money is paid equivalent to the work made to make a useful commodity. I think that is fine, but this destroys why video games should ever exist, and I can't support Marxism without my video games.

Hah, you thought I was defending it for something constructive, huh? XD

Socialism & Communism have potential, that much is true. In the US we have several organisations and numerous third parties (mostly multi tendency or some shade of Marxist Leninist) but the conciousness of the American proletariat is such that many identify themselves with the cultural and political norms of middle class often white though not strictly so Americana. This identification and sympathy for the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie in capitalist America leads to the materialisation of social reactionaries or fascists due to the realities of race relations in this country, the pressence of internal biases not just racial, and the broader spectrum of capitalist society with all its lovely contradictions :/

Granted America did and still does have a vibrant socialist tradition with legends such Eugene Debs, Emma Goldman, and Josiah Warren.

Warren was himself a purponent of democratically run worker coops run along the lines of market principles that was opposed to capitalism and its threat to the individual sovereignty of working people.

If you understand Marx on the Alienation of workers from their labour this certainly holds up nicely :)

Communists are the reason people like dock workers and miners have worker’s rights, but those same professions today see Marxism as a danger to their worker’s rights 😔
