Sometimes social media is a mess you do not know why these people try to cause division and chaos and try to create something larger than it is. It is surprising though that a country as rich as Iraq cannot provide its people electricity and clean water, there is no excuse for it. When you see youtube comments of Basrawis wanting to become part of Kuwait you know there’s something wrong happening in Iraq xD.

It's sad really, but yeah most of them want to become a regional government and basically make Basra one of the wealthiest regions in the world but I'm pretty sure the corrupt politicians even in Basra wouldn't bring any change.

Ask yourself if you can do everything your wife can.

If survival is your own problem, then acquiring food is also a personal duty. It's not the wife's 'job'.

Veey beautiful article about the wife's duty to her husband.

I lived in a dysfunctional family due to a cold mother and I can attest the miseries inflicted by such cruel feminist ideals.

Did you ever try to consider why your mother reached that state? People that are miserable to others always have a motive behind their actions. Islam tells us that all people are born good and it is the outside influences that cause us to change.

In the Bible there is a story where Esau gave up his birthright and blessing to his brother Isaac (who became Israel)
In return for a meal he could have prepared for himself. Lol.

Of course not. But I know that people don't abuse others without having first experienced it themselves. And if your mother was so interested in education, why did she marry and give birth? That doesn't sound like a rational decision, unless someone else coerced her into it.

There is wisdom in it, even if it is not divine. Just as there is in many other written texts.

It would be difficult to describe all the rights and responsibilities of the wife in one post. However, at the core, she is only indebted to Allah. And if her husband provides something, she should return the favor.

The Qur'aan says:
"Men are the caretakers of women, as men have been provisioned by Allah over women and tasked with supporting them financially. And righteous women are devoutly obedient and, when alone, protective of what Allah has entrusted them with."

Mufti Taqi Uthmani, a conservative Deobandi scholar says:
"It is not a legal obligation of the wife, according to Islamic teachings, to cook the meals or serve the house, and if a woman elects to refuse to undertake these works, a husband cannot compel her to do so."

The above opinion is also upheld by Imam Malik, Imam Shafi'i, Imam Abu Hanifa, and the majority of contemporary scholars of Egypt and the Levant. The service of the husband is not a legal duty of the wife. It is the duty of the husband to take care of the household and all those that reside within it.

And I assume that if I want an understanding of non-Europeans that I should consult books and papers written prior to the 1800s, right?

Do you deny that in many countries a woman does not have a say in who she will marry? It is more than a rare occurrence that a family will sell their daughter off to the highest bidder. The nature of women is the nature of humanity and her rights to consent are equal to that of a man.

I don’t believe in its validity and if true, why mock the story of the prophets?

Here we go again...You really don't think highly of women do you? "Cooking, cleaning, rearing the children," are duties that should be shared equally between the couple. None of the things you listed are exclusively a woman's job. Oh and learning to cook is really not that difficult. Can I ask what country you're from? You might have told us already I just can't recall it.
