The guy was a former police chief and the then-Secretary for Security in 2019 during which he played a major role in violently cracking down on pro-democracy protesters in 2019.
Xi Jinping personally came to Hong Kong to rub his dirty feet all over our city's pristine carpet. Large swathes of the city went into lockdown (under the pretext of an approaching typhoon and zero-COVID restrictions) and everyone who was scheduled to come into close contact with him from schoolchildren to government officials was required to quarantine themselves at a hotel and undergo a PCR test every day for a whole week in a closed-loop arrangement. All of this just for one guy to declare victory over the embattled people of Hong Kong 25 years after the UK was coerced into handing the city over to China, which it had never been a part of until then. Margaret Thatcher can burn in hell for turning Britain's back on Hong Kong.
The vicious personal attacks on Priti Patel from the woke establishment and media landscape (such as Sky News) and even from her own Home Ministry staff, most of whom are likely young, woke, unbelievably narcissistic, and can’t even go a single day without losing their sh*t and constantly trying to get their own colleagues and bosses canceled and fired over perceived slights in numerous, endless, internal “reckonings” AKA power plays, are simply uncalled for. If she was white and male, she would no doubt be facing additional workplace racism and sexual harassment allegations on top of specious and vague accusations of “bullying” and presiding over a “toxic” work environment simply because she refuses to entertain the unreasonable woke demands of her own employees and insists on doing things her own way like any normal girlboss at a normal company or government agency would. This article by the Intercept, written from a left-wing POV, describes this woke capture in detail.
British institutions such as the Home Ministry and Ofcom are, like their U.S. counterparts, slowly being infiltrated and undermined from within by wokesters more obsessed with identity politics than actually doing their assigned jobs properly to the delight of far-right Islamist groups and the far-left CCP who are united in their goal of eroding liberal democracy and Western values. Priti Patel is a strong and determined woman of principles and integrity who is doing right by the British people and the people of Hong Kong. She herself is a child of refugees from Uganda, so she is more than qualified to take the hard line on illegal immigration that she is taking now, and in light of the Rwanda Plan, self-important, moralizing, utterly sanctimonious bleeding heart liberals such as Yvette Cooper and so-called "human rights" activists are freaking the f- out while a foreign court interferes in Britain's domestic affairs. Watch how quickly these people change their tune when it is suggested that they personally open their own doors and homes to asylum seekers and refugees. They will never know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of mass, uncontrolled immigration because they are part of a privileged, woke elite who can afford to hold increasingly bizarre and outlandish luxury beliefs that simultaneously enable them to demonize the very working-class people whose rights and dignity they once championed.
Britain was right to leave the EU and it is right to leave the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights in order to better assert its national sovereignty and more closely align culturally, politically, and economically with the freedom-loving United States of America and other Anglophone nations in addition to non-EU allies such as India, even going as far as to bolster immigration from non-EU countries including India.
This is the exact opposite of a racist and xenophobic immigration policy. Britain is more inclusive and multicultural than it has ever been in its history, probably to a fault. In addition, Boris Johnson and Priti Patel have done more than any other UK government to stand with the people of Hong Kong and offer refuge to millions of Hong Kongers fleeing communist political persecution.

Wish I could celebrate my country's birthday, but the truth is, I don't like my own country very much. I'd rather be a Sarawakian or a Hong Konger than a Malaysian or a Chinese, but the problem is, both are under foreign occupation at the moment. Until we are free, there is nothing to celebrate here.

In Sarawak, our right to own fireworks is as precious as your right to bear arms at least for ordinary end-users. Shopkeepers need a license to sell authorized fireworks.
Hong Kong should return to the United Kingdom!
I prefer full independence like Singapore or annexation to Taiwan or the United States as a self-governing overseas possession like HK pre-1997.
Looks like Boris Johnson has resigned as PM. Here's to hoping a more competent, more right-wing Conservative Prime Minister succeeds him.

COMMENT | Our vagina is unique to us. It is special.
Equally special are our breasts, nipples, uterus, ovaries, and cervix. They were awarded to us by God when He decided that we were to be born a female into this world.
Alongside our female body parts, we were also blessed to be born with a beating heart and a working brain, complementing our other organs, and making us human.
As women, we have a special relationship with our bodies. This relationship is about learning, exploring, understanding and accepting our bodies.
Unfortunately, in a country like Malaysia where female anatomy and sexuality are often oppressed, restricted, and made subject to the forces of social control and regulation, having such a relationship is not easy.
In Malaysia, not only women are made to conform to family, society, and community expectations, but our bodies are made to represent the honour of everyone else but ourselves.
We are often attacked based on our attire simply because it brings unnecessary gazes to our body and does not resonate with the “Malaysian culture” - our personal choice and preference matter not.
Our bodies are glorified as bearers of the family name, and protected - yet at the same time, bodies of young girls end up being easily disposed of in child marriages, legalised under our country's law.

We see religious police threatening our freedom of sexuality, projecting personal freedom over our own body as shameful, sinful, and disgusting - while at the same time celebrating polygamous men by legalising their lustful affairs.
And today, as we continue to liberate ourselves from the social constructs which restrict our personal freedom, we learn that we cannot even create art to symbolise our womanhood.
When did vulva become obscene?
Recently, a 25-year-old woman named Amira Nur Afikah Agus was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court for creating an artwork of a woman’s vulva in comparison to a flower and uploading it on her Twitter account.
A vulva is the part of the female genitals including the labia, clitoris, and vaginal opening.
The artwork was produced in support of a female hygiene products brand and its campaign “Know Your V” which was launched in 2021.
The brilliant campaign which was meant to educate Malaysian women about personal care and to remove the stigma attached to vulva was instead labelled as undermining the dignity of women, degrading women, and violating the norms of decency in Malaysian society.
The attack to bring down the campaign was first brought forward by Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia’s Muslim Women's Council. PAS-led Yadim is a government-linked organisation set up to promote Islam.
Amira was charged under Section 233 (1) (a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 199 for “knowingly making and initiating the transmission of obscene communication, namely pornographic pictures, with the intention of offending others”.
As a woman who is proud of her femininity, it is exceedingly difficult for me to understand why artwork of female genitalia needs to be treated as something obscene, vexatious, and fearful.
We live in a country where, despite women making up almost half of its population, we have male policymakers sitting in Parliament, freely making sexist and crude remarks about female bodies without ever being reprimanded for it.
But when a young woman proudly shares an artwork of her womanhood on social media, suddenly, our government gets alarmed and decides to waste taxpayers’ money to charge that innocent young woman.
It is ridiculous to note that our government is only growing a pair for such petty issues.
Why doesn’t the government grow a pair to use its power on more important things that affect women such as violence and abuse?
Let us embrace femininity our own way
There are many websites with interesting reading materials that share photos, graphical illustrations and artworks of female anatomy which are open to public viewing - what makes Amira’s artwork any different from those contents?
If I post a picture of a half-cut cantaloupe (Google it) on my social media to celebrate my womanhood – will that offend the government too?
What if the empowered, liberated female population of Malaysia decides on uploading artworks of their choice to embrace their female genitalia - will the government charge every one of us for being a proud woman?
We now live in the year 2022 where a woman may choose to get a Brazilian wax, tattoo or even pierce her labia if she chooses to. We do not need anyone’s permission or validation when it comes to our bodies.
It is time for us, the liberated women of Malaysia, to send a strong message to our family, our community, and our government that our body, our sexuality, and our freedom is ours and ours alone.
Let us reclaim our rights. Let us celebrate our womanhood.
And let's keep the government out of our vagina.

Hong Kong as an unincorporated territory of the United States sounds like a great idea! Just like Puerto Rico. But Gazoo prefers the UK to have control of Hong Kong like they had for hundreds of years.
Gazoo is very sad to hear Boris Johnson resignation of Prime Minister of the UK. He was a great leader and Prime Minister! Man delivered Brexit, the biggest electoral win for Conservatives since Magaret Thatcher, the biggest vaccine rollout in all Europe, was the first to help and visit Ukraine. Tories are making a great mistake but political for their party Gazoo understands why they are pushing him to resignation, which is sad.
BoJo did many great things. It was his government that withdrew Britain from the EU in order to independently forge closer ties with India, Australia, Canada, and most importantly of all, the United States of America. It was his government that opened his country's borders to refugees from Ukraine and Hong Kong while taking a hard and uncompromising line on illegal immigration, national sovereignty, and the rule of law, and going forward with the Rwanda Plan in open defiance of the woke hysterics of bleeding-heart liberals. His government pledged to invest in clean, reliable nuclear power all the better to reduce Britain's dependence on both fossil fuels and Russian and Saudi energy hegemony, and simultaneously mitigate the deleterious effects of climate change.
His Cabinet was the most multi-ethnic and multiracial in Britain's history with a record number of women and minority ministers appointed based solely on individual merit and qualifications, NOT tokenism, shortlists, and arbitrary and discriminatory racial and gender quotas. His country was the very first in the world to roll out a highly reliable and effective, life-saving COVID vaccine. (Sinovac is not a real vaccine.)
But he's still not right-wing enough for me. When the woke MSM and left-wing politicians manufactured an episode of racial hysteria in the aftermath of a football final match last year, the PM adopted a defensive and apologetic tone during PMQs instead of going on the offensive and directly calling out their woke, BLM BS.
Then-Culture Minister Nadine Dorries introduced the Online "Safety" Bill, which if passed, would significantly curtail online freedoms and empower the Home Secretary to order ISPs to take down or censor certain websites and "unmask" social media "trolls" who publish "harmful" content. Freedom of speech, expression, and the right to privacy are all under threat. Boris Johnson has simply gone along with this anti-freedom charade instead of firing Dorries for crossing a line. His government failed to repeal other pre-existing draconian laws criminalizing or penalizing "hate speech" and "misinformation" despite having three years to do so.
His government was insufficiently outspoken against the hateful, far-right scourge of radical Islamic fascism, insufficiently committed to upholding and affirming the civil rights and dignity of non-Muslims both at home and particularly abroad, and failed to foster a sense of unity and solidarity among non-Muslims, stating plainly and unequivocally that NON-MUSLIM LIVES MATTER. Under his watch, the government turned its back on a Batley schoolteacher who was forced into hiding in fear of his life after being accused of "insulting Islam" in non-Muslim England. (Although to Priti Patel's credit, she is close to both Israel and India, both non-Muslim, democratic, nationalist polities who actively defend the rights of non-Muslims.)
Boris is also far too scandal-prone to remain in office and polls are not in the Conservatives' favor thanks to him. While his vaccine rollout was hugely successful, his government gravely mishandled everything else about the COVID pandemic. When the entire country was in lockdown, he, his wife, and his Downing Street staffers partied late into the night, disregarding their own rules. Now, we have a scandal involving a sex offender, which has turned out to be the final death knell for his administration.
The woke, sanctimonious, left-wing opposition MPs on the benches opposite have far worse plans for Britain and the Conservatives must win the next election or Britain is screwed. They are barely holding back the woke, authoritarian tide as it is. The nation is in need of a strong, decisive leader with a solid moral compass and a classical liberal value system who is pro-freedom and will not back down without a fight.
This cannot happen as long as Boris remains in charge. The guy has got to go. Just to be clear, I harbor no ill will or hard feelings toward him as a person. This isn't personal. I'm sad to see him go, but it's for the best.
Anyone who uses the word woke unironically loses all credibility in my book
