I wouldn't count out Russia totally but their economy isn't good enough to be a true threat to US at the moment.
For instance, they do have the SU-57 fighter jet which is the best plane in the world but due to budget problems do they only own 12 of them at the moment. Their economy is hurting due to restrictions over Crimea and the low oil prices under the pandemic have made things for them even worse.
They are dangerous and aggressive so don't forget them but I agree China is more dangerous for the USS at the moment.
I think China is more an economic threat to US then a military though. While they do have a massive military that is constantly being upgraded they would be stupid to start an armed conflict with US at the moment. Instead they will try to beat America economically and they have been doing a good job catching up.
I would guess their strategy is to force or trick US to increase their national debt even more until US will be forced to cut down military funding a lot, like US did to Russia in the 80s. China's economy is catching up and almost all economist believe they will pass the US GDP in the next couple of years while their military spending have increased at an alarming speed.
US economy is not unlikely the Soviet Union's in the early 80s with a huge percentage of the GDP going to the military and the national debt increasing so playing the waiting game is the logical way to handle this. The pandemic has further hurt the US economy while China was one of few countries that increased their GDP in 2020.
Fun fact: Do you know which nation that have the worlds best tank at the moment? It is actually South Korea for some reason. I find that a bit surprising but they are also a nation that have been on the rise lately. I think they are a likely target to Chinese aggression in the future.

I think Russia also needs to focus on its economy, due to rising fuel prices in Russia and rising levels of poverty in Russia .Russia can't be a potential superpower too.Even experts say that. ,Russians experienced a far more superior quality of life in the USSR days than in present day Russia.Due to the fact that USSR was a developed nation and poverty was totally non existent in the USSR.When Boris Yeltsin came to power in 1991 after the break up of USSR, he was faced with 2 challenges , rising fuel prices and poverty due to loss of jobs made up by the breakup of USSR.Boris Yeltsin could not do anything to solve these problems , this continued even into Putin's regime too.

Hey, guys! Welcome to all of our newcomers, I apologize for not greeting y’all individually, but I’m actually in New Mexico with my wife and son skiing, it’s their first time! :))
Anywho.., for those of y’all who don’t know and aren’t in the Discord (I suggest you all join!) I plan on kicking off parliament once I return and am rested, most likely late Monday/early Tuesday depending on your time zone! If you aren’t familiar with what I plan on doing with it, my end goal is to get everyone involved in one way or another in the region. For those of who you are newer, we surprisingly all used to be raiders and defenders, but I’m the one most familiar with government protocol and laws, so this is my brain child, so to speak.
I plan on getting 8 people within the region to participate. If there’s more than 8, I’ll simply hold an election via poll. You will vote on laws, amend our constitution, and create a better future for our region! If you think you aren’t qualified enough, you’re wrong! This is the perfect time to experiment with what you like, as we all will be learning together. No such thing as a stupid question, trust me.
Now is the time to start somewhere. I look forward to starting this exciting new era of the region with you all!

Poverty have never been none existent in Russia, ever.
Do you seriously think the Bolsheviks went from the European country with most poor during Tsarists Russia to no poor? That is just propaganda, people starved to death in the Soviet union too, particularly during the 1932-1933 famine. And that famine was due to Stalin's agricultural policy, it was a man made famine not unlike the Chinese famine 1959-1961.
I do agree that Russia should focus on it's economy if they ever want to become a superpower again because logic, being a military superpower with poor economy is just a bad idea. I also think that US need to focus on it's economy if they want to keep being a superpower since spending about a third of the entire worlds military budget is bloody expensive. China is focusing on their economy and that is why they are so dangerous now.
The scariest world scenario I can think of is a Chinese - Russian alliance. China could afford paying the Russians to build those Su-57 planes the Russians can't afford for instance and an economical alliance where China get access to the resource wealth of Siberia while Russia get access to Chinese wealth together with the competence of Russian military engineers would make them immensely powerful. China are really good at things like computers while Russia's military hardware is excellent.
The Su-57 have one disadvantage against the F-22 and the F-35: Their targeting system. Russian engineers are not great at computer systems but Chinese engineers have been moving forward a lot there in later years.
EU and US are further away from eachother today then ever since the founding of EU and if they wouldn't change while Russia and China did an alliance we would be in trouble. And I don't think that is an unrealistic scenario, if I were China or Russia I would already have been starting on such an alliance.

But that was before World War 2 , after WW2 , the Russians had more time to develop their country and Stalin was gone, his repressive policies died out with him. Then afterwards Russia completely eradicated poverty , especially in the 1960's to 1980's decades. Russia has a lot of hackers , that make it have an edge over other countries. Even the Chinese famine of 1959-1961 was man made, started due Mao's repressive policies , just like J.Stalin . But keep in mind that the Chinese Communist Party was not a B team of Russian Communist Party at that time. Mao never copied Stalin either.

That just isn't true. While the living standard went up a bit after Stalin's death poverty was not uncommon in the Soviet union. People queuing for hours to get a bit of bread existed as long as the union did.
There was no famine after 1947 so things were better after that but no famine does not mean no poverty. In 1985, 20% of the people in the Soviet union were living in poverty compared to 14% in the US the same year. Soviet officials did deny this but that doesn't make it less true.
Really? There are plenty of Asians here. Sadly, the one I was talking most to have quit after he lost his job due to the pandemic, he was from the Philippines but I do have spoken quite a bit with people from the region India and at least the ones I spoken to were Indian. When I was back in the Radiant and Novus Lucidum we had good relations with them.
