I'm the puppet to South St Maarten, ambassador to TWI from Europe, and our region is holding a Eurovision Singing Competition! And as your region has an embassy with ours, all residents of the Western Isles are welcome to join the competition!

Eurovision 2020 NS has ended! Congratulations to the winner, The Oriental Empire!

Eurovision 2020 NS will be held from Thursday, April 16, 2020 to Friday, May 8, 2020 in the Constitutional Monarchy of South St Maarten. Nations from Europe and its affiliated regions will compete for the winning spot. The preliminary rounds will be held in Target Field and the final rounds will be held in King Edward III Stadium. Do not submit an actual video, but rather, make up a singer/group and song/act that would be popular in your nation.

How it works

Eurovision 2020 NS is a singing competition that has singers (one from each nation) compete with one another. There are two rounds: the Semi-Finals and the Grand Final. Participating nations will compete in one of two semi-final groups. The top 5 will advance to the grand finals. In the grand finals the top nations will preform again and another vote will be held to determine the winner.

How it's scored

Nations are scored on a scale from 1-8, 10, or 12 points. Any nation, regardless of whether they have singers participating in the competition, can vote by sending a telegram to South St Maarten with your points for each nation participating that day. You may not award points to your own nation. This method of scoring is the same throughout the entirety of the competition. For the semifinal rounds, all the points will be counted up and the top 10 (or 5) nations will move on. In the grand final, the same procedure will take place and 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place will be awarded. Unlike actual Eurovision, in Eurovision NS fan votes will make up 100% of the voting system.

• The act may have multiple singers (a group) or a soloist

• Live instrumentals are banned, however, you may provide a track for the singers to sing to at the performance

• You may not vote for yourself in voting

• You may not vote for another person twice

• You may not award another nation 0, 9, 11, or more than 13 points

Since mine are all pond/bladder snails they're light enough to float around on chunks of vallisneria maybe twice their length max

Weird pet peeve of mine: 2D political compasses. They don't show a cultural axis, and I believe culture is really big when it comes to politics. Like neoliberalism is generally cultural left, economic right and more libertarian. Is that a weird pet peeve?

Which is why I think they're doing this on purpose (at least to the extent that a creature of minimal intelligence like a snail can do things on purpose). I know for a fact that at least one of them is a chronic daredevil because I've seen it crawl up the side of the tank, over to the filter outflow, and seal up the shell so it gets pushed around, and it'll repeat this very intentional act a few times.

Vancouvia, say, what would be your take on a say an Alteran/Noronnican-Magarati occupation of the Central Canal? More so since, you already have bases in AM itself (so does Noronnica).
