I got 4 out of 5 party members, myself included, killed by accidentally unleashing a horde of fiery raptor mounts upon ourselves by breaking their chains with a Shatter.
It was a massacre. Everyone tried to run. Cleric plunged head first into lava. Rogue got paralyzed by a giant worm he ran into while fleeing. My wizard and the fighter got burned by the raptors. Only the druid managed to outrun them.
He's trying to buy the election. Plain and simple.
And it's kinda working which is the scary part. Get your name out there repeatedly, especially close to poll time, and people who aren't strongly behind a different candidate may very well shrug their shoulders and put your name down because you're the last person they heard from and your stance seems inoffensive at a glance
I like that Leon is kinda controversial, on one hand he saved a young man’s life.
On the other hand he is making things tense with Mokov and kinda violated their borders.
Maximus made a good impression in Nhoor and although people in Nhoor don't know Leon that well, they think that they will be better off with Maximus than with Leon, in the event that Maximus had been born first and become king of Havalland, leaving Nhoor with Leon. But that may just be prejudiced Nhoor.
Havalland, Nhoor, don’t know if y’all have done this yet or not, but to prevent future entanglements, Prince Maximus needs to give up all claims for himself and descendants to the throne of Havalland. Incase something happens to King Leon and Maximus becomes king of both countries, i.e. United Kingdom and Hanover until Victoria.
Yes, that is part of the conditions at least at Nhoor's side. Hence the impossibility for King Leon and his offspring to succeed to the throne of Nhoor (at least, such a succession will have to be approved by the parliament of Nhoor), and Maximus will be forbidden to succeed to the throne of Havalland while he is king of Nhoor.
Their younger brother Jacob and sister Elisabeth are currently however in line of succession to both, and things may be complicated even more as rumours have it that Princess Elisabeth may wed King Ivan XII of Mokov, whose first wife apparently died...

Hi all! Coming here from searching through the pacifist tag. Not completely new to NS, but haven't played in years and wanted a fresh start. I'm a linguistics major and so a lot of my dispatches/factbook and RP will be language based.
This nation is an idea I've had of a fictional group of islands off the coast of California that has influence from Pomo and other groups there, as well as Polynesian influence (in our world). Former colony, now trying to reemphasize indigeneity, and navigate world market. Does a lot of traditional subsistence things, stuff like that. I'm gonna try to re-work my way into things here. But the region sounds cool!
Corindia my snails have discovered the biofilm on the top of the water. One in particular I keep seeing floating around upside down at the top of the water munching away, and apparently they've been communicating because I've got another one starting to do the same thing. They're perfectly healthy and still spend plenty of time grounded on other objects, but it's really neat to watch them intentionally dive off the plants or w/e to float up for a meal

About Role-Playing in the Region
Our regional map is the basis of our RP, and it is therefore reserved for nations who actively engage in RP or plan to do so. Before asking a spot, please first make sure you have at least one nation-building factbook (relating to some aspect of your nation) and at least one forum post.
To be added to the map, send Vancouvia a telegram with answers to several simple questions - they are listed under "Map Rules" in the Regional Rules and Conduct dispatch. In order to stay on the map, you need to be relatively active in regional RP. nation-building dispatches or RP posts in the forums at least once week or so, should be enough.
Here in this region we don't use NationStates stats at all. Population, economic status, main industries, defense budget - All of those things are up to you, the player, to decide! Make factbooks or dispatches describing your nation's culture, history, religion, government, budget, climate, military, science, industries, people, corporations, trade deals, and anything else you can think of.
RP in this region is based on realism and modern-technology, so keep your nation in those limits. There are a few other guidelines we have in place to keep things balanced, for example:
Population should be no larger than 30 million
GDP per-capita should be no larger than $30,000 USD
If you're having trouble coming up with realistic numbers, just search Wikipedia for information on the real-world countries your nation is based on (or related to), and use that. Remember that this is an island region, and that our nations are not the largest and richest in the world - so, for instence, don't take the size and scope of the US' armed forces as an example, and don't take China's economy as an example. Try to find a realistic balance that would fit an island nation. Tip: There are no "perfect" nations - all nations have their strengths and their weaknesses. The Sec. of Role-play (Thuzbekistan) or other members of the region can help you design your nation as well.
Other than that - the limit is your own creativity. Feel free to look around and read other nations' factbooks and dispatches for ideas. See for example:

As a start, I recommend reading the recent posts in the regional news thread and posting some of your own, before moving on to more complex RPs. This would allow players of the region to get acquainted with your nation.
And of course - you can always think of your own idea for an RP based on or in your nation, and recruit or interest others to join. I also recommend checking out the region's Alliances and Trade Agreements dispatch, where you might find other nations with similar interests and players to RP with; and the region's Marketplace, where you might find storefronts and corporations seeking to expand.

In 1928, the Magarati Dominion, a colonial administration under the Noronican crown, was overthrown in the Magarat region. The newly independent diverse peoples united as a nation under the banner of the Empire of Magarat led by Temur Buduja. The nation of Tracera was also annexed into this new empire just as it had been under the Magarati Dominion and various hangates of the Khas-Kirat Empire before that.
In 1932, Magarati leaders began to claim Doman lands to be an integral part of their new Empire; just as the Holy Empire of Domanania had been to the Khas-Kirat Empire after the War of the Horses (914 - 920).
In 1937, four years before the start of the Isles-wide Imperial War, the Empire of Magarat launched a surprise attack on the holy site of Doma Island; where the tomb of Xodia Doma lay. The Imperial Magarati Army had prepared five divisions of 20,000 soldiers each: the Tiwe Sivn Gun comprising mostly of Magarati Domans, the Nine Gyarong Gun, the Chepangic Gun, the Jhangad Gun and the TraceraTBD Gun from Tracera; over 200 aircraft that was mostly Samudera B-18 "Kirati Eagle" Fighters but also the brand-new Corindia-made Bretodeau HF2WE "Cuélebre" Heavy Fighter Aircraft and Samudera B-21 "Northern Bandit-Mask" Bombers that were to be used on the battlefield for the first time; and almost the entire 100 ships strong Yellow Dragon Fleet for the invasion of Domanania.
On October 21st, the Nine Gyarong Gun under Lieutenant General Seisai Tahanagi moved into Doma Island and met almost no resistance. Within 5 days, the holiest site in Domanania was under Magarati occupation. The Doman Ground Forces and the Federation Navy made haste preparations for war to engage the Magarati forces.
Battle of Isle of Razors
On November 1st, the Nine Gyarong Gun of Imperial Magarati Army received orders from the Magarati high command to take control of Isle of Razors. The Magarati strategy was to occupy all out-lying Doman islands before marching into the mainland. Lieutenant General Seisai Tahanagi planned to invade the smaller island north of the Isle of Razors to effectively cut off supplies and prepare a staging ground. And his division did so on November 7th when they occupied the smaller northern island.
Meanwhile in the Isle of Razors, the 2,000-strong Doman soldiers of the 3rd Brigade under Colonel K'érl Xsuç were unaware of the developments north of them due to failures in reconnaissance. Alongside K'érl Xsuç's men were 8 ships of the Federation Navy stationed in the island's main port of Jiq. This stationed fleet included 5 Naval Attack Crafts, 2 Ruoár-class destroyers (FNS Ruoár, the first of her class; and FNS Xodanta) and 1 Takrata-class heavy cruiser (FNS Warrior).
In the dead of night of November 8th, the FNS Warrior, FNS Ruoár and FNS Xodanta encountered a Magarati squadron of 2 light cruisers (Jhola and Thought of Confidence) and 5 destroyers (Journey of Souls, Character of Tales, Three Turnings, Eyes of Flowers and Madan). The naval battle was initiated when the Journey of Souls fired torpedoes upon the Federation ships but missed. The FNS Warrior then returned fire on the Jhola. The Thought of Confidence came to the aid of the Jhola and the three cruisers began to duel.
Meanwhile, the Three Turnings, Eyes of Flowers and Madan, probably unseen by the Domananians, fired four torpedoes each on the FNS Warrior. Two or three torpedoes hit the Federation heavy cruiser between its turrets and detonated her forward magazine. The sinking of FNS Warrior is generally credited to the Eyes of Flowers; but also to the Madan by some sources.
The FNS Ruoár and FNS Xodanta quickly cleared the area to join the 5 Naval Attack Crafts at the docks, leaving the FNS Warrior to her fate. However, the Magarati ships pursued them and managed to take control of the Jiq port as well after a brief engagement.
On November 10th, after being notified by aerial reconnaissance, the 2nd Battalion of Nine Gyarong Gun set out with 40 horse-drawn vehicles with 20 horses, filled with clothes, food, ammunition and proceeded northwest towards the location where the Domananian troops were supposedly hiding. At around 10:00 am, the Magaratis passed into a narrow defile with the two sides rising up more than 10 meters.
Meanwhile, Nine Gyarong Gun's 3rd, 6th, 12th and 15th Battalion troops, in about 40 trucks per battalion, were sent along the path taken by the 1st Battalion; albeit to a different objective. The 2nd Battalion came under ambush set by Colonel K'érl Xsuç's 3rd Brigade at around 10:30 am and the Magarati battalion suffered heavy casualties of almost 100 dead just moments after the surprise attack. Fortunately for the 2nd; the 3rd, 6th, 12th and 15th Battalions were nearby to push back the Domananians. Xsuç's 3rd Brigade eventually withdrew from the battlefield, allowing the Magaratis to finally reach and attack the Domananian headquarters on the island by the morning of November 11th.
When the Isle of Razors came under full Magarati control by November 12th, the Magarati casualties in the were around 500 and the Domananians at about 400. This figure includes the naval engagement, the Domanaian ambush and the Magarati attack on enemy headquarters.
Battle of Takrata Bay
Following the loss of the Takrata-class heavy cruiser FNS Warrior against the superior ships of the Yellow Dragon Fleet, the Doman High Command issued evacuation orders for all Federation naval ships to make way from Takrata Bay to the Yeoman and Dowlwind Ports. This evacuation included 1 Takrata-class cruiser, 3 Ruoár-class destroyers, 4 Sun-class destroyers and 4 Riél-class cruisers.
However, these Federation ships were soon intercepted by a Magarati squadron of 8 destroyers (Journey of Souls, Character of Tales, Three Turnings, Eyes of Flowers, Madan, Ular, Basai and Rotating Chair), 2 heavy cruisers (Freedom or Death and Khusi) and 1 battleship (Yellow Dragon). Either the Eyes of Flowers or the Madan was responsible for the sinking of FNS Warrior whereas the Yellow Dragon was the flagship of the Yellow Dragon Fleet. The Magarati vessels had been dominating naval battles so far, and the Doman Federation Navy had suffered series of losses in the last two weeks. Some of the Federation ships still had damages of various nature and were not rendered fit for combat until repairs were finished in other ports. The plan did not call for the Bilç-class FNS Yeoman to be in the evacuation route and was designated a lost cause and decoy to block passage of the Magarati ships.
On November 15th, the Magarati fleet went on patrol earlier than the last few days and intercepted the evacuating Federation ships. Out of range of coastal batteries, the Federation vessels tried to sneak by by killing external lights. This only worked with some success as the Magarati fleet was already launching flares into the pre-dawn sky. The Federation vessels then began to lay smoke down while Magarati ships fired at them.
The battle was long and arduous, but the Federation ships still could not make a full breakthrough. After half of the Federation vessels had already destroyed or rendered able to fight further, the Yeoman sailed forward against her orders to join the battle. Her guns were large enough to severely damage the lighter Magarati destroyers and she began her defense of the evacuating Federation ships by sailing between the various Magarati destroyers. Her 200 mm turret guns and 150 mm casement guns began to shred the lightly armored enemy destroyers while the light guns peppered the decks and sea with shells.
As the sun rose, 4 Magarati destroyers (Character of Tales, Three Turnings, Basai and Rotating Chair) were out of commission, and the Yeoman had now attracted the attention of the heavy cruisers Freedom or Death and Khusi. While her guns were comparable in size, the Yeoman's armor could not withstand modern rounds of these enemy cruisers. Most shells tore straight through her and out the otherside without exploding while her guns managed to knock out the secondaries and set some deck fires on the Khusi. The Yeoman would fight until the last Federation vessel had slipped through as the Magarati ships were heavily focused on this particular cruiser that had sunk 4 destroyers and set fire on one of their heavy cruisers. The Federation vessels that managed to escape thanks to the Yeoman's sacrifice would regroup with the surviving Doman ships to prepare for bombardments of the coastal forts by the Magaratis in the next weeks.
FNS Yeoman met her fate when battleship Yellow Dragon fired a shell that penetrated the front and detonated halfway through the ship. This powerful explosion broke the Yeoman, who was already severely damaged, into half. She would sink to the bottom of Takrata Bay with all 200 of her crew.
Battle of Wartha
By November 24th of 1937, the 1st Battalions of Imperial Magarati Army's Nine Gyarong Gun, Chepangic Gun, the Jhangad Gun, Tiwe Sivn Gun of Magarati Domans and the TBDTracera Gun from Tracera had made naval landings on and captured Halitron, Yeoman, Kamtorantia, Magrat and Athar. As planned by the Magarati high command, the remainder of these guns started arriving in mainland Domanania one after another. The Domananian defenders were unable to halt the Magarati advance as city after city fell to the invaders. However, the Magaratis were unable to take larger cities such as Dowlwind or Vulctos Henta and no progress was made even as two months passed.
On February 11th of 1938, the Imperial Magarati Army's forces in Domanania split into two groups: Tiwe Sivn Gun, Chepangic Gun and Four Thakali Gun were to continue their assaults on the defenders at Dowlwind and Vulctos Henta respectively while Nine Gyarong Gun and Jhangad Gun marched into Wartha. These two Magarati divisions would arrive in Wartha on February 14th to encounter a 60,000 strong Domananian 2nd Army under Udir Pék. This 2nd Army was composed of the 3rd Cavalry Brigade which had 3,000 soldiers, 40 various tanks and 100 motorized vehicles; the 2nd Infantry Corps which had been weakened due to action in recent battles and included 27,000 soldiers and 100 light artillery pieces; and finally the 4th Artillery Corps which had 30,000 soldiers and 2,000 various artillery pieces.
Under the orders of Lieutenant General Seisai Tahanagi of Nine Gyarong Gun and Major General Bir Oram of Jhangad Gun, the Magaratis planned to take over Wartha to cut off supplies to other Domananian cities. The plan was discovered by Udir Pék, and the 2nd Army managed to surround the two Magarati guns with six divisions of their own. On February 15th, Jhangad Gun's 1st and 4th Battalions, supported by artillery and air force, pushed into Wartha but faced fierce resistance from the defenders. Though reinforcements arrived in the form of Nine Gyarong Gun's 1st Battalion, the Magaratis were still unable to break through Domananian lines. It was then that Tahanagi and Oram ordered the deployment of poison gas against the city's defenders. Although the Domananians had a severe shortage of protective equipment against chemical weapons, they were still able to repel the Magarati attack.
On February 24th, the 9th and 15th Battalions of Nine Gyarong Gun finally managed to punch through the Domananian lines in the west, but were confronted by numerically superior enemy forces. Tahanagi and Oram's divisions had been successfully trapped from all sides by the 2nd Army. Desperate to break open a safe path for the trapped Nine Gyarong Gun and Jhangad Gun, the Imperial Magarati Air Force began heavy bombing on Domananian positions with incendiary bombs, resulting in many Domananian deaths.
On March 7th, the 2nd Army suddenly launched fierce counter-attacks and the remaining Magarati units that were still intact hastily retreated. Amid the celebrations of the victory in Wartha and other Domanaian cities, the Empire of Magarat initially denied their defeat and ridiculed the reports of the battle for days. The Domananian victory at Wartha was their first major victory in the war. The battle broke the myth of Magarati military invincibility as nearly 10,000 Magarati soldiers were either killed or taken prisoner; resulting in an incalculable benefit to Domananian morale as Udir Pék and his 2nd Army became national heroes in desperate times.
Battle of Vulctos Henta
Defeat in Wartha was no longer deniable due to Domananian and foreign media heavily reporting on the incident. The Empire of Magarat later on admitted that Wartha had ended in a Magarati defeat but still denied reports that chemical weapons had been used in the Domananian city. Magarati high command's attention was now focused on taking over Vulctos Henta, the largest city in Domanania that had once been the capital of the Tiwe Hangate of the Khas-Kirat Empire.
By the beginning of July in 1939, five more Imperial Magarati Army divisions (Same Gun, Jirel Vanguard, Tamang Cavalry, Raji Gun and TBDTraceraGun2) had landed in mainland Domanania to begin a new offensive towards Vulctos Henta. On July 19th, Magarati troops under overall command of Nine Gyarong Gun's Lieutenant General Seisai Tahanagi, launched heavy artillery shelling over Domananian fortifications. Nearly 100 M0 "Chuli Leopard" tanks were deployed for the first time in order to decimate the Domananian units in the front lines. Northern Bandit-Mask bombers carried airstrikes on Vulctos Henta and nearby towns while at least 20 ships from the Yellow Dragon Fleet maintained heavy naval bombardment along the coastline on Domananian cities that had yet to surrender. In addition, the Magaratis were also deploying toxic gas against their enemies.
On July 26th, Magarati troops from Major General Oor Man Gole's Tamang Cavalry, supported by tanks, broke through the west gate of Vulctos Henta, defeating Domananian reinforcements from nearby towns along the way. Gole's troops were joined by the Jirel Vanguard striking south from the north of Vulctos Henta, and the converged Magarati forces began surrounding and laying siege to the city. The entire city of Vulctos Henta fell the next day after large number of reinforcements from other Magarati divisions arrived. The Domananian army suffered heavy casualties while defending the city. The Imperial Magarati Army continued to clear out the rural area throughout July and August, marking the end of the first phase of the campaign.
Despite of losing their largest city to the Magaratis, Domananian forces in Downlwind and other cities yet to fall such as Dantaxos and Geranta continued to make their stand. As Magarati forces occupying Vulctos Henta were moved to support operations in other areas, the Domananian 1st Army under General Háj Nék saw an opportunity and planned a counterattack to retake the city. This army totaled around 83,000 and was composed of the 1st Infantry Corps (30,000 soldiers, 150 heavy artillery and 200 motorized vehicles) intended to lead the frontal assault of the counter attack to pin down the enemy; the 4th Cavalry Division (15,000 soldiers, 10 tanks, 500 mounted soldiers and 100 motorized vehicles) as the primary unit would go behind the front lines; the 1st Artillery Corps (30,000 soldiers and 2,000 various artillery pieces) in various supportive roles and finally the 1st Armored Brigade (2,500 soldiers, 40 various tanks and 300 motorized vehicles) assisting the 4th Cavalry Division in flanking maneuvers, but not leading the charge. The 1st Armored Brigade was also intended to bring up the rear and act as support.
On August 21st, a surprise attack by the Domananian 1st Army began from the north, west, and south of Vulctos Henta. In the south, this sudden offensive quickly broke through the Magarati positions as they advanced towards Vulctos Henta proper. After five days of relentless advancement, the Domananian army finally reached the outer area of Vulctos Henta. Throughout the Domanania assaults to retake the city, the Magaratis still retained control over much of the city and continually received supplies and reinforcements throughout the five-day advance of the Domananian troops.
Beginning on August 27th, the Magaratis began a counteroffensive against the Domananian push by attacking the southern troops. Supported by heavy artillery fire and air support, the Magaratis retook several of their strongholds around the city and forced the Domananian divisions to fall back. For the following week, progress was at a standstill on both sides as they held their defensive positions. Hoping to end the conflict quickly, Háj Nék ordered the Domananian divisions surrounding Vulctos Henta on September 2nd to retake the city by September 5th.
Following this order, the Domananians launched a new offensive to try to end the conflict over this highly important city but the continued reinforcements of the Magaratis prevented a Domananian victory. After several days of intense fighting, and heavy casualties, for the Domananian army was exhausted and forced to retreat on September 9th. Also exhausted from the battle, the Magaratis did not pursue the retreating Domananian army. The Magarati casualties numbered around 20,000 and the Domananians suffered double that figure.
After their victory at Vulctos Henta, the Imperial Magarati Army launched more than 60 small campaigns involving around 1,000 combatants each and 5 large campaigns by Same Gun, Jirel Vanguard, Tamang Cavalry, Raji Gun and TBDTraceraGun2 respectively to wipe out Domanania guerrillas in nearby areas. Lieutenant General Seisai Tahanagi had earlier handed the command of these five guns to Major General Oor Man Gole of Tamang Cavalry while the rest of the Imperial Magarati Army was involved in Dowlwind, Dantaxos, Geranta and other cities.
Gole estimated the strength of resistance forces in these areas to be about 80,000 in December 1939. Two years later, he and his officers revised the estimate to be over 100,000. On the eve of the battle, however, the resistance army grew to be 200,000 men strong. The extraordinary success and expansion of this group bolstered morale among the Domananian army as well.
By 1940, growth was so impressive that TBDCommander ordered a coordinated offensive by the Domananian Army and resistance groups (TBD regiments from TBD) against Vulctos Henta and the railway lines linking it to other Magarati-held cities. According to Domananian sources, the battle started on August 5th. Originally TBDcommander's order of battle consisted of 10 regiments, but on August 12th, he found more that 40 regiments took part in, mostly various resistance groups that had participated without telling him.
They succeeded in blowing up bridges and tunnels and ripping up track, and went on for the entire month of September to attack Magarati garrisons frontally. About 600 mi (970 km) of railways were destroyed, and the TBD coal mine—which was important to the Magarati war industry—was rendered inoperative for six months. It was the greatest victory that TBDcommander had fought and won during the war.
However, from October to December, the Magaratis responded in force, reasserting control of railway lines and conducting aggressive "mopping up operations" in the rural areas around them. And despite several Domananian attempts, Vulctos Henta remained under Magarati control.
TBDcommander Offensive, which claimed more than 20,000 dead on both sides, came to end on January 25th of 1941 after Emperor of Magarat Temur Buduja requested peace with the Domananians. However, the peace negotiations between the Federation and the Empire of Magarat failed due to several reasons. Nonetheless, the two sides agreed on an armistice on February 20th as the Magaratis established Vulctos Henta, which had once been the capital of the Khas-Kirat Empire, and a large amount of surrounding occupied territories as Magarati Domanania. Most of the Magarati soldiers involved in this war were recalled home. As the drums of war became silent on Domanania, they began to rise in Central Argus and Raedlon. The Magaratis had set their eyes on San Montagna and were preparing for a different war.
Magarati Imvasion of San Montagna
On November 19th of 1940, the Oshakona tribe of the Yhai nomads from Viceroyalty of the Rio de Ouro (New Totzka) crossed the border into Almorea. Believing this to be an Ouronan invasion ordered by Viceroy Asygno Indra Amancio, Almorean patrols opened fire on the Yhai. The two sides exchanged gunfire for nine hours continuously. Both Viceroy Amancio and Almorean President William Valentine issued apologies for the violence and promised to withdraw their respective military units from the border.
However, this peace was not to last. Rio de Ouro's fellow Neo-Imperialist partners in the Empire of Magarat had been planning the invasion of San Montagna. Emperor Temur Buduja of Magarat had even inked armistice with the Domananians and recalled veterans of the Doman-Magarati War so as to prepare for the invasion of his southern neighbor. Magarati diplomats continually urged Amancio to continue his hostilities with Almorea lest Valentine pulls the first move.
On December 25th of 1940, in what is now known as the "Christmas Deal", the leaders of the Neo-Imperialist powers met in secret and agreed to simultaneously carry out the Ouronan Invasion of Almorea and the Magarati Invasion of San Montagna. Magarati leadership developed plans to occupy the entirety of San Montagna within a month and then to redirect their efforts to Raedlon. The armed forces of Dragao do Mar and Norstham were to take part in the Almorean campaign as Polar Svalbard, Noronica and other Free Powers were more than likely to support Valentine in the upcoming war.
Battle of Fiorenzo
As planned, the Neo-Imperialist powers simultaneously declared the Ouronan Invasion of Almorea and the Magarati Invasion of San Montagna on March 16th, 1941. The Karnali Sea and South Mesder Sea were now under heavy patrolling of joint Neo-Imperialist fleets. Emperor Temur Buduja directed 10 divisions of 200,000 Magarati soldiers, over 300 aircraft and nearly 600 tanks for the first phase of the Magarati Invasion of San Montagna. The Magarati divisions tasked with the invasion were veterans of the Doman-Magarati War such as the the Same Gun, the Nine Gyarong Gun, the Chepangic Gun and the Jirel Vanguard; with the rest of the invading force comprising of the Myahak Gun, the Iron Gun, the Marubhumi Gun, the Nine Khas Gun, the Shingsaba Gun and the Helambu Gun. The San Montagnan army, on the other hand, while numbering around 100,000 men; was composed mostly of reserves and a few units from the elite Alpine Corps.
The Imperial Magarati Army made rapid progress in putting town after town and city and city under their control until they arrived at Fiorenzo. The Chepangic Gun under Major General Kamal Bahadur Praja (whose ranks and files were mostly from southern Chatha which now in San Montagna itself) were the first to arrive in the city but failed to advance any further. On the 18th, the Nine Gyarong Gun under Lieutenant General Seisai Tahanagi and the Iron Gun under Major General Henry Gharabja arrived as reinforcements. The Magaratis were now able to encircle the San Montagnan defenders.
After that, the fate of the encircled San Montagnan army was sealed. With no mobile forces or supreme commander left, there was no possibility to effect a breakout. The infantry of the Nine Gyarong Gun and the Chepangic Gun, marching behind Gharabja's tanks, were extremely effective against their enemy. The three Magarati divisions systematically began to reduce the pocket. However, the encircled San Montagnan army at Fiorenzo did not give up easily. A savage battle in which the San Montagnan defenders were bombarded by Magarati artillery, tanks and aircraft had to be fought before the pocket was overcome.
On 28th March, Fiorenzo finally fell after 10 days of heavy fighting (much more than what the Magarati high command and generals had expected), the last remnants of San Montagnan troops just east of the city's outskirts surrendered as well. The Magaratis claimed that over 300,000 San Montagnans were now their prisoners, although these claims have included a large number of civilians rather than just enemy combatants. Many of these prisoners of war and San Montagnan civilians were massacred in large numbers after the Magarati victory with no true figures available even today.
During withdrawal from Fiorenzo on the 28th, several members of headquarter staff such as Matteo Salvini perished. Many sources agree that only 20,000 or so San Montagnan troops managed to break through the encirclement with the Magarati casualties being around 20,000 men and 40 tanks.
Battle of Canavarro
On 18th March of 1941, the Jirel Vanguard of the Imperial Magarati Army arrived in Canavarro while the Chepangic Gun, the Iron Gun and the Nine Gyarong Gun were assaulting Fiorenzo and rest of the invading Magarati army was in Villa DiStefano. The Jirel Vanguard was under the command of newly promoted Major General Samundra Jhupucha who was overtly confident of his skills on the battlefield after his gun managed to defeat and capture some 5,000 San Montagnan soldiers in a town along the way. Meanwhile, the Ilsan division under TBDcommander managed to land in a coastal town west of Canavarro. Other Ilsan divisions that had attempted to land in Sabazio, San Daniele and Vista-sul-mare had retreated back after suffering disastrous consequences. Jirel Vanguard and the Ilsan division were to met at Canavarro and wait for the arrival of reinforcements.
However, in his overconfidence, Jhupucha launched the offensive before reinforcements could arrive and tried to encircle the city with his thin lines. The San Montagnans began their counterattack but their morale went down after their (high)commander TBD was killed by Magarati artillery fire. Emperor Temur Buduja was extremely pleased with this news, and instead of demoting Jhupucha for acting out of order, he instead ordered the Myahak Gun and the Shingsaba Gun to withdraw from Villa DiStefano and support Jirel Vanguard and the Ilsans immediately. However, heavy rain poured down for days and these reinforcements traveled at extremely slow pace of "meter by meter".
By this time, the San Montagnans had learned about the vulnerabilities of the Jirel Vanguard and targeted the weak left flank. The Magarati-Ilsan lines were extremely overextended and unable to support the targeted elements. By the time, reinforcements arrived in the form of the Myahak Gun and the Shingsaba Gun, it was already too late and the defenders of Canavarro had been emboldened by reinforcements from San Luca and Villa inCampagna. Jhupucha realized that he could not proceed any further and ordered the joint Magarati-Ilsan forces to withdraw from the city. Emperor Buduja was furious and countermanded the retreat and wrote to Lieutenant General Seisai Tahanagi to sack Jhupucha. However, Tahanagi (who himself analyzed the reports of the situation and knew that Jhupucha's actions were necessary) wrote to Buduja and managed to convince him to backtrack on these decisions. Over 3,000 men from the Jirel Vanguard and 1,000 Ilsan were dead in this battle that lasted for two weeks. It was the first significant defeat suffered by the Magaratis and the Ilsans in the Imperial War.
Battle of Monte Grande
On 6th April of 1941, Major General Gyanendra Kumal's Same Gun began a surprise attack of Monte Grande while other units of the Magarati invasion force were assaulting the cities of San Luca and Rusky. His forces overran the weak TBDSanMontagnanunit and by 8th April; the Same Gun had managed to trap several San Montagnan divisions around the mountainous city. His spearhead unit, the 2nd Battalion, were the first to enter the Monte Grande but were quickly repelled by the defenders. Later that evening, the Myahak Gun and the Marubhumi Gun under Major Generals Madan Kusunda and Kesar Kathoriya respectively arrived and completed the encirclement of San Montagnan forces in Monte Grande. From 9th April, the San Montagnans tried a series of concerted counter-attacks. The TBDunit1 and TBDunit2 engaged in several combats against Kumal's 2nd Battalion while the TBDunit3 and remnants of TBDSanMontagnanunit attacked against the southern flank of Myahak Gun.
Several other San Montagnan units also attempted to counter-attack in the sectors of the Marubhumi Gun and rest of the Same Gun. The San Montagnan attacks managed to slow the Magaratis but the results were quite marginal and the Magarati offensive continued. On 11th April, Kumal's 2nd Battalion and the Myahak Gun's 6th Battalion managed to break into Monte Grande and effectively captured the city except for the suburbs; where the Magaratis would engage on two weeks of house-to-house fighting against counter-attacks by the TBDunit3. The last of these San Montagnan defenders were finally repelled on 24th April. The Magaratis lost over 10,000 men and nearly a 100 tanks in the mountainous terrain with the San Montagnan casualties being TBDfigures and roughly 100,000 taken as prisoner.
On 26th April, Lieutenant General Seisai Tahanagi held a conference at occupied Rusky, which was attended by commanders of all the guns involved in the Magarati invasion of San Montagna. The generals were required to sit without an opportunity to comment, while a memorandum was read to them by one of Tahanagi's aides, instructing them that they were to strictly follow new directive from Emperor Temur Buduja; which state that they were under no circumstance to try to push further south of Monet Grande. They were ordered to concentrate on mopping up, refurbishing equipment, restocking supplies and straightening the Magarati occupation line as peace negotiations with the San Montagnans were due.

Okay, so the plan so far is:
Brulafi before the Imperial War was a post-colonial Republic, with most political institutions directly or indirectly controlled by international corporations. The military of Brulafi had fairly modern equipment even up until the late 1930s, but most of it was directed for use against internal threats, and the military was generally woefully unprepared to guard against an external invasion threat. The Brulafi Socialist Worker's Party, founded in 1922, was gaining steady popularity with the lower and middle classes, who felt that their new government was just a new colony of the corporations. Things existed in an unsteady balance, until the government banned the BSWP in 1936. The party went underground, and at times it seemed the country would explode into full revolution as the party began to arm itself for an insurrection against the government and leftist members of the armed forces began to desert. It was in this time of weakness that the Magarati empire found it a perfect time to strike, swarming over the northern border from occupied San Montagna and overruning the nation's military in three weeks. The government of the Republic fled to Miklania to wait out the occupation, while the Socialist Worker's Party took the opportunity to paint itself as the vanguard for the resistance to occupation. Soon the National Front was formed, allying the BSWP with the pre-war Social Democratic Party and former army units that had escaped arrest and disarmament. Tentative communication with the government-in-exile was established a few months later, but it was clear that the real command power resided with Samuel Dudley, the leader of the National Front.
The National Front took no time in executing mass sabotage action, even assassinating several high Magarati military commanders until the occupation forces began to execute reprisals upon civilian populations. After that, acts of resistance were mostly focused on destroying infrastructure and command links, though a few abortive attempts to declare "Democratic Republics" in the cities of Arran and Neukassel were made in the early years. These Democratic Republics were quickly crushed by Magarati forces, but the National Front often controlled and even administered large swathes of the countryside at any one time. In order to conduct a wild-goose-chase-esque pursuit of the partisans across the country, the Magarati empire first employed conscripts from San Montagna in the field as surplus manpower. These foreign conscripts, themselves from an occupied country, were not terribly enthused about combating the partisans, and thus more Magarati manpower was drained replacing the conscripts with Magarati troops in an effort to root out partisan activity. This only served to drain Magarati fighting capacity, however, as the partisans would simply shrink into the countryside and continue to lure Magarati patrols into ambushes. By late 1946, the army had become especially weak, and the decision was made to directly revolt and seize all major centers of power. The revolt, staged on November 7, caught the beleaguered Magarati occupiers off-guard. Soon, they were routed, and either were captured or routed north over the Montagnan border by the end of the month. On Christmas Day, 1946, the government-in-exile returned home, and tried to raise a new army from conscripts and former army members in the National Front. The Front, though, had been slowly steeping its members in Communist ideology during the insurrection, and eventually the balance of power from before the war returned. In fact, the new government had simply just been lured back to Brulafi in order to be arrested and put on trial after the coup executed by Dudley known as the Revolution of 1948. Following this, Brulafi becomes the Socialist Republic we know today.
Magarati Invasion of Scantarbia
After the Magarati Invasion of San Montagna and the Battle of Brulafi, the Empire of Magarat was in control of Central Argus. As promised, Magarati troops landed in Almorea to aid Ouronan (New Totzka) forces while the Yellow Dragon Fleet maintained a heavy presence in Karnali Sea.
However, the Magarati high command was in need of more resources than ever and started preparing plans to invade more territories such as the Noronican colony of Wellsia. Emperor Temur Buduja personally preferred a "pincer attack" on Wellsia from north and south. Thus, plans were made to invade Scantarbia which was oil-rich and abundant in rubber. A Magarati-occupied Scantarbia was to be strategically used for invasions of Wellsia and Charbagnia. The Magaratis contacted the Neo-Imperalist sympathizing Greater Argus Party of Scantarbia and promised its leaders that they would rule the nation once the Magaratis removed the current government from power. However, the fringe party had been infiltrated by Scantarbian government agents and the messages were intercepted. They deliberately fed wrong information to the Magarati side by stating Pollux as the best location for landing an invasion force. The Magaratis were also told that only one gun would be enough for invading Scantarbia and that the locals would "automatically join the Greater Argus cause in large numbers".
Emboldened by this false information, the Magarati high command signed a neutrality pact with Keverai while secretly paying for use of Keveraite seaports and airports. The Scantarbians, on the other hand, had sent observers and war reporters on battlefields to study Magarati invasions of Domanania, San Montagna and Brulafi.

Free Powers Liberation of Brulafi
While the year 1943 is often considered the year of the status quo; this is a gross overgeneralization as many important events did, in fact, take place that year. The successful advance of the Free Powers into Magarati-occupied Brulafi was one of those events.
After Belle Ilse en Terre was overrun by Miklanian forces in 1942, the Free Powers started making plans to invade the Magarat region through the Central Canal. It was a known fact that the areas surrounding the canal, which was within close proximity to the Magarati capital Liba Hang, was much more heavily-fortified than the lightly-defended Magarati-occupied Brulafi where local Brulafi freedom fighters still ran rampant. Thus, the Free Powers agreed to open up a new front through Brulafi to ensure that the Magaratis would divert their forces down south so that the Miklanians, Noronicans, Almoreans, exiles from occupied Alteran Republics and various others could land in Altera and march into the Magarati capital through the canal.
Note: Three Magarati guns would have been involved in this - the Same Gun, the Danuwar Gun and the Koch Gun and number around 60,000 initially.
Battle of Narakraj
Out of a prewar population of 11 million, estimated 2 million Magaratis had died in the Imperial War. During the Cold War, the People's Republic of Chuli government estimated a death toll of further 1 million civilians due to the flight and expulsion of Magarati minorities (mostly Khas-Kiratis and Argean Ipachis) throughout the Isles and forced labor in TBD countries.
At the TBD Conference, the Magarat region was divided into twelve different military occupation zones by the Free Powers and they became the twelve new hangates of a divided Magarat. Chatha and Jaring regions were occupied by San Montagna, Tamuwan by Polar Svalbard, Arun Valley by Dothrakia, Tamsaling and Dura Hangate by Razzgriz, the islands of Akar and Myagdi by Noronica, TBD by TBD...
The Free Powers removed, imprisoned, or executed most top officials of the old Empire of Magarat regime, but most middle and lower ranks of civilian officialdom were not seriously affected. In accordance with the Free Powers agreement made at the TBD conference, millions of POWs were used as forced labor by TBD countries.
Free Powers economic policy originally was one of industrial disarmament plus building the agricultural sector. In the western sectors, most of the industrial plants had minimal bomb damage and the Free Powers dismantled 5% of the industrial plants for reparations.
In 1952, the occupying powers took over all newspapers in the Magarat region and purged them of Empire of Magarat's influence. The TBD nation occupation headquarters, the Office of Military Government, TBD nation began its own newspaper based in TBD city, TBD newspaper. It was edited by Magarati émigrés who fled to TBD nations before the war. Its mission was to encourage democracy by exposing Magaratis to how TBD nation culture operated. The paper was filled with details on TBD nation sports, politics, business, film industry, and fashions, as well as international affairs.
After the end of the 30th Parallel War in 1994 and the eventual collapse of the United Central Communist Republics (UCCR), Armaja Hang positioned that the Magarat region would now be led by a democratic socialist ideology that balances the aspects of both capitalism and communism. He laid the foundation of his nation as a welfare state while decreasing bureaucratic obstacles for small businesses. He also restructured his country into the modern-day nation of "Athara Magarati Federation of Hangates", or Athara Magarat (Uh-THA-Raw Muh-Gah-RATT) and promulgated the Constitution of Athara Magarat (1995).
In August 10th of 1996, Gau Maya Tilija of Workers Party was elected as Fimla Hangma to lead the new nation after Armaja Hang's resignation. Fimla Hangma laid the restructuring of the military.

1942: Air and naval campaigns are waged to establish control over lines of communications. Miklania invades Belle Isla en Terre, knocking most of it out of the war. Aizcona holds the line at its borders. Noronica fights for control of the Argean.
1943: Status quo is largely maintained. Allies have mostly won sea control. Paratan(?) invaded/liberated/commandeered by allies as airbase for bombing into Keomora and others. Invasions are prepared. Aizcona and friends advance into occupied Brulafi.
1945: Aizcona has advanced to the southern border of San Montagna. Significant Miklanian forces are redeployed again to the south to support the invasion. San Montagna is liberated. Fighting in the north stagnates again.
This is in Mik's plan. I have to reach Aiz's borders by 1942. 1943 has been set as the year Aiz and some of his allies (placeholder positions) started liberating Brulafi (it has not exactly stated that Brulafi gets liberated within that year). So, there's still time till 1945 when Aizcona, Miklania and other Free Powers rush into San Montagna.
By that I mean, plenty of time for your partisans to assassinate Magarati generals between 1941 and 1945 (and I am sure the dates can be changed if you wish...1946, in particular, seems to have had no major action taking place) :P
But yeah, 1947 is when Empire of Magarat gets knocked out of the war and the Free Powers return back to Raedlon where it all began.

I'm getting some real 'arcane paladin with a pet' vibes from it, as in a decent damage dealer with a lot of support options. Is this a correct assertion? And how is it on the powerlevel scale?
