I’m also thinking of inventing a national sport that is like an afl-rugby-americafootball crossover. It will be epic.

Overview

The Commonwealth of Republics, often simply referred to as the Commonwealth, is a voluntary political organisation that encompasses numerous nations from within the Western Isles. Within the Commonwealth of Republics are two key institutions; the Commonwealth Reirey (Administration) - which overseas the inter-governmental regulation. communication and organisation; and the Commonwealth Fo-oltey (Associate) - who's duties lie in the communication and collaboration with non-member states and nations.

The Commonwealth dates back to the first half of the 20th century with the restructuring of the Alteran Commonwealth of Republics - the precursor to the Commonwealth of Republics - through increased self-governance of former colonies and dominions. The Alteran Commonwealth was originally conceived as a way for Altera to continue spreading prosperity and its ideals throughout the region, by leading the organisation and all its associated endeavours. However, by the turn of the 20th Century, many politicians realised that Altera 'leading' this movement would not be economically or socially viable, and that it excluded the potential positive actions of non-Alteran republics. This mindset was put to paper in 1932, through the Byrch Declaration at the 1932 Commonwealth Conference, and formalised by the Alteran Republics in the following year.

By 1938, Altera had been discussing the concept of the Commonwealth with its allies and 'colonies' (a term applied historically, but one which Altera didn't use at the time) for several years; drumming up support and continued to further establish the ideals, principles and potential components of the Commonwealth of Republics.

By 1938, the governments of Aprosia, Atolla and Avran had formally accepted Altera's proposal, with negotiations for other nations on-going - and the Commonwealth of Republics was officially formed.

The Commonwealth's core values centre around the principles of freedom of speech, freedom of the individual, the free press and open and fair trade. Nations who share these ideals are invited to the Commonwealth of Republics to continue sharing and defending these core principles.

Agencies and Commissions

Within the Commonwealth of Republics, a number of organisations and bodies operate - supervising and advising on nations development, elections and economies.

Independent Commonwealth Electoral Commission

COMPOL (Commonwealth Police)
An independent organization that works with member and non-member states to assist in criminal investigations, as well as repatriation cases

Commonwealth Commission for Veterans and War Graves
An independent commission dedicated towards the promotion of fair treatment for veterans, as well as the repair and maintenance of member-state war graves across the region

An organisation dedicated towards the promotion of cultural and linguistic exchange between member states; facilitating the exchange of cultural holidays, museum exhibits and other related phenomena

Commonwealth Emergency Relief Agency
An agency dedicated to the collection, shipping and distribution of humanitarian aid in areas impacted by natural disaster, conflict or other serious emergencies

Covenant of the Commonwealth

The Covenant of the Commonwealth, more frequently refered to as by the Commonwealth Covenant, is the document of guiding principles for its members. The Covenant is by no means a set of rules or laws, but instead a guiding list of aspirations for members to move towards - promoting peace, trade and freedom within the region.

50/50 agree, first two, meh, second two, yes

Whilst I've sent telegrams around to the people I'd imagine would be directly affected by this project, I might as well throw the link here too for onlookers and the people I've inevitably missed. After doing a bunch of history writing in the past few weeks I'm finally in a position to be able to get this idea off the ground - the Southern Sea Trading Network. Essentially, think silk road but over water and starting in the 17th century.

Well, I was looking for an English speaking region after being two years in an Spanish speaking region.

I like learning about history and politics, my hobbies are playing soccer and cooking, I'm from Colombia 🇨🇴🇨🇴.

I'm trying to create something as a Latin American society a semi-feudal society run by oligarchs, with a crony-capitalism.
