Oh yeah how do months work since you don't use the same numbers as the rest of the world.

There's a desk at my work where we often have laptops we are working on, and I have been shocked by static no less than half a dozen times today. Its at the point where the shock is so big it actually made me jump back instead of just my hand recoiling.

Air's dry as hell and I always seem to be perpetually electrified in the winter (great party trick, zapping people on command) but this is ridiculous.

Maybe the desk is cursed

Yeah.

The bee drones have their reproductive parts literally exploding as soon as they finish mating with the queen.

How do you mean? The total amount of months in a year doesn't change.

You could develop your political system in more detail or other things that don't necessarily require a map, such as art, sports (if you don't have city names yet, just call your teams/clubs Team A, B, C etc and assign them to cities later), language, religion, ...

Here is the thing. AM is divided into 40 guns (equivalent to a tribe/tribal federation/ethnic group whatever). Aside from the Nyssic and Domans, the rest are all Khas-Kirati or Argean Ipachi. Which means that any individual or family that arrives in mainland AM as refugees/for work/whatever (our the same sex marriage thing in modern times) has to choose one of these 40 groups to join. Thus, new clans would be created. These are the "immigrant clans" and I was wondering if you guys could provide me with some (notable) families or individuals who migrated to AM and started new clans.

Is it then one clan per individual, or let's say if a group of unrelated Nhoor stranded in AM after one of the wars in which they were dragged by Razzgriz they would all be considered as belonging to the same clan?

If this group decided to get adopted the same tribe (at around the same time period...this matters most actually), then they would be one clan.

If they all decided to join separate guns in separate time periods, then they would be all be founders of new clans.

Music

Main article:Music in Nhoor

Nhoor has a varied music tradition, with traditional semi-indigenous forms existing next to religious chants and modern western music genres, including classical music, jazz, and mainstream popular music such as rock, hip hop, or electronic dance music. Combinations and cross-overs are very common as well.

National anthem

The national anthem of Nhoor was written in 1794 by Qenhod Mhwrud (1723 - 1799). Initially set to different melodies, the current final tune was written in 1843 by composer Halisin Tōƨay-Chur (1801 - 1872).

Marriage in Nhoor
A Nhoor marriage (Sādarhōb) is an unbreakable bond between two or more persons that will last until the death of one of the persons involved in any case, although there are some families that believe the marital bond to be eternal (Rheyza); in the latter case, remarrying after having become widow or widower is not possible.

A marriage should be agreed upon by the persons involved, who will then inform their respective families (Cale̦nire). If the families agree as well, the mother of the groom (or in case of a same-sex marriage: the mother of the oldest partner) will make an announced official visit (Cuverhire) to the bride’s parents (who usually have invited other family members over for the event) to make a Declaration of Intent (Tayptwre), which counts as the official marriage proposal. The way the mother is dressed for the event and her transportation methods are very important and under heavy scrutiny by the bride’s family: if it isn’t done right, the marriage is cancelled, the groom’s mother’s dress will be torn and she will be forced to walk back to her home as the bride’s family will prevent her from using the transportation in which she arrived (an event known as Avormɵcenhire or ‘walk of shame’). The Tayptwre of wealthy citizens often involves a lot of pump and circumstance.

The marriage is supposed to take place between 60 to 72 days after the Tayptwre was accepted. During this period, known as the Rudēqh pw Nuldir, the marrying partners are forbidden from seeing each other. If they happen to be in e.g. the same class at school or university, or working colleagues, a schedule is made so that the couple can work or study on alternate days, or – if possible – one of them can be reassigned to a different part of the company where they work. During this time, both partners are prepared to the marriage by a Rudēquldidreƨy, slightly comparable to e.g. the best man in western traditions, by selecting the marriage gowns, make-up, and preparing the procedures.

The marriage usually takes place in a Duvactist temple although open air marriages are also very common in summer. The married partners-to-be are lead to a platform (Sādws), blindfolded, while Duvactist priests and family members chant religious texts. The leading Duvactist priest then throws a goblet of water in the faces of the couple to cleanse their thoughts and reinforce their devotion to one another. The priest then solely chants a rite of marriage, which is a general rite but can contain personal elements if so chosen by the family. Then the blindfolds are taken off and both partners have to quickly applaud once above a flame (sometimes this leaves burning marks), after which the marriage is sealed and the Rudēquldidreƨys are officially released from their duties.

The marriage is concluded by a large feast, which – in the case of wealthy citizens – can take several days.

The newly wed couple is supposed to pay an official visit to their respective parents within three days after the end of the feast. The groom’s or oldest partner’s parents are visited first; then the bride’s or youngest partner’s parents.

Newly wed couples don’t usually travel for their honeymoon, although wealthy couples increasingly do it after the example of countries with western traditions.

Hello, I am new to this but am incredibly interested in the role playing aspect. I want to get a position on the map and begin writing my factbook. Would anyone be interested in giving me some ideas? I would like my issues and nation profile to similarly depict what I want my nation to be, so I am aiming for a controlling theocracy that allows for the freedom of worship under one religion, hence the mysticism aspect. Right now I feel like it is going pretty well but I am unsure of which system of government to try and implement and even what to name my leader!

I'm just confused cuz 10 in your numbers is 12 everywhere else, right? Are the days different?

Welcome! The Western Isles don't use the NS statistics so the issues and the nation profile (such as the population number) are kind of irrelevant here. This may be of use if you want to know more about role playing in TWI: page=dispatch/id=520612
