I'm not done with classes. Just at the start of a new semester. Lol

We managed to (sort of) get through the software (alleged) upgrade at work, but I accrued over 20 hours of overtime lieu in less than two weeks. I slept very little as a result of stress-induced nightmares over that time. They were...visceral and very unpleasant, but they're gone now. Still have a lot to do in the IT department at work, and have to train a few staff in the sh*tty new software, but otherwise things have mellowed out. I should sort of be back.

Guess I should ask for an RP update, and ask whether or not people are still interested in the San Javier story. I've been toying with a few ideas for things in the past month, but it depends on where things stand as a region. I really can't read all 1000 or so messages I've missed.

Welcome back homeslice!

There's still plenty to be done with the regional space station if anyone would like to make a module!

Ah, I remember you mentioning that now. Best of luck with that. My plans for interning this summer have yet to come to fruition, so I'm pretty much free to do creative projects, if you need me to do more work in Poppies to keep it going.

I applied to 50 something internships and another 2 dozen jobs and only ever heard back from 3 in like 4 months and was desperate to find something. Now I'm a marketing intern at a high end pen company and a delivery boy working 40 hours a week wishing for a little more free time to do something other than look at pens all day.

At least you are now a pen connoisseur and can reccomend your friends which type of pen to use.

And e.g. the Salvation Army in Dutch is called 'Leger des Heils'.

I severely doubt that's what he was going for tho

$600+ PENS??!?

Even if you're filthily rich, at what point should you have arrived that you consider buying such expensive pens?

Notice South Asia, senpai!

Hi all. I just finished my penultimate exam (my last is a week away and is on a subject i'm not too worried about) and I want to get myself back into NS asap. I've had a lot of thoughts about Totzka and what I want to do with it over the summer.

1) I'm really unhappy with how the whole Yhaivan independence story line happened. I rushed it to get it over with before my exams and going back over my news posts (especially my last) is making me cringe a little bit. I also didn't really have a clearly plan of what was going to happen next. A bit of me whats to retcon it and try again but I think I will keep it as cannon. I'd be grateful for any advice on what to do with Yhaiva now.

2) I want to restructure Totzka politically and add a Prime Minster role in my government. Right now constitutionally Totzka is quite strange in that it has a presidential government but places sovereignty within the legislature. I also like the idea of having a president who relies on institutional power having to contend with PM who relies more on charismatic power, intrigue and backdoor deals.

3) Wake Islands. Polar svalbard, expect a TG soon :)

4) Imperial War. I need to catch up with what's currently being planned. I've also worked out what I want to happen to Totzka after the surrender. This is basically how I want to Totzka to divided (https://i.imgur.com/NcLAHYg.png). I was thinking that Almorea and/or Polar Svalbard would administer the northern zone (potential setting a proxy state) while the southern zone would be administered by Noronica and, since they have some colonialist tendencies, they might try to set it up as the Third Viceroyalty of Rio de Ouro. This would remain the state of affairs until the Totzkan revolution kicks off in the 1960s.

Anyway, it feels good to come back to NS properly.

Second Wave blend

Diverging Beliefs

Dying out as Christian and Athara Magarat Missionaries came through

Hold outs with First Wave peoples

Due to the First Wave tribes not developing a written language until well after the conquests of the second wave peoples, Svalbardian Archaeologists will never know the actual names of the deities that these peoples worshiped. That does not mean though that they do not have ideas on how these peoples worshiped.

To start off this is a broad generalization of the myths and religious figures that these peoples worshiped, the Zazchey archipelago is large and was home to many tribes who may have worshiped in different ways. Furthermore the majority of this information is gleamed from pottery and monuments found by archaeologists searching all across the archipelago.

One key thing that most archaeologists agree on is that water deities held specific importance for these peoples. Large amounts of pottery show scenes of water and many of those show what appear to be deity figures. Along with that many monuments are found near water ways, with many being in coastal spots. One notable find was an altar found on a cliff overlooking the sea on the Island of Kadmo. Archaeologists debate whether or not this altar was used for prayer or sacrifice. Human sacrifice has been largely ruled out due to the fact that the First Wave peoples were relatively peaceful it would appear and were spread out in hunter-gatherer communities or in small villages.

Speaking of that peace, that idea was proposed quickly due to the notable absence of war imagery on the majority of pottery found from this era. For the most part there is only a small amount of pottery and murals that show signs of war. Due to this it is believed to be unlikely that these peoples worshiped a deity that focused on war.

Refillable fountain pens made of precious metals with engraving, probably able to write upside down and/or underwater.

TG me any time. Almorea would be only too happy to act as an occupying power after it embarrassed itself in the war :)
