They don't exist yet. They were a splinter group of the Democratic-Republicans who formed around the 1830s to oppose Andrew Jackson. So, it's literally just the Democratic-Republicans right now.

And historically the DRs don't splinter until 1824. So they essentially have a monopoly on American politics for the next 20 years or so.

That makes us the only remaining land powers to attack Napoleon.

Oh no. Vincent, do we know about this meeting IC?

I don't see why you would unless Napoleon announces it to everyone in Europe for some reason.

I could guess French folk seeing mr Fredo rolling into Paris could be a cause, but I'll wait for you to do foreign policy that showcases this to make any comment.

If me and Britain can relieve tensions that historically lead to the war of 1812, then I might be willing to join in on the side of the Coalition.

I assume it would be primarily a support role? I can't imagine the US sending troops to Europe to fight France and her allies if such an event would occur, especially at this time.

Potential Ally

Sultan Selim is taking a ride with his horse around his Palace. He is accompanied by his Grand Vizier, Ziyauddin Pasha.

Sultan Selim: "You know, I believe its time to pick a side on wether we support Napolean or Britain.

Napolean attempted to take over Egypt and the Levant which caused us so much trouble that we still are seeing today.

We must ally with the British, we require a strong European ally who can back us up in times of need.

I do wish to integrate us into a more Western European style of government and culture. We must build up our army and protect our Balkan, African, and Asian interests.

Building up both economic and millitary relations with Britain will give us a chance to modernize.

I also wish to maybe slowly introduce less autocratic elements to government.

Grand Vizir Ziyauddin: "Well my Sultan, I must agree with you.

We must act now, for if we don't we will fall into chaos and war. If we show more weakness the Austrians, Russians, Persians, Egyptians, Arabs, all of them will jump on us like rabid dogs.

We must modernize, and we must ally with the British."

Sultan Selim: "I must head to the palace. I will be writing a letter to the British Foreign Ministry."

Sultan Selim quickly heads back to his office and begins to write a letter to the British Foreign Office.

"To The Right Honorable Earl of Harrowby Foreign Minister Dudley Ryder

The Ottoman Empire wishes to discuss current relations between Britain and the Ottoman Empire and how they could be improved.

I personally wish to meet with you to discuss this in Constantinople.

I wish that with this formal meeting relations between our 2 great countries could be significantly improved.

Signed, Sultan and Caliph Selim III."

Yeah, probably a support role with cotton and shipyards, but we could join in the Peninsular Campaign if that happens.

Imperial Army Act

With rising tensions in Europe, Holy Roman Emperor Francis II would decree further military buildup within the Habsburg Empire. Under the command of Archduke Charles, the Empire would purge of incapable and undesierable officers. The Archduke's deputy, Karl Philipp, Prince of Schwarzenberg, would be placed as Field Marshal and Commander of the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Armies. Johann I Joseph, Prince of Liechtenstein, would be placed as a Marshal of Calvary, and the deputy to the Prince of Schwarzenberg. Count Ignác Gyulay would be placed in command of the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eight armies, with Graf Johann von Klenau as his Calvary Commander and designated Deputy. Archduke Charles would also form the Imperial War Council, made up of the Emperor, the Foreign Minister, himself as Minister of War, Joseph Radetzky von Radetz as Chief of Staff of the Imperial Army, and the newly appointed Marshals and their Deputies. The War Council would organize and define the Habsburg Armies. Armies would size at around 40,000 and their would be Eight Armies commanded by Two Marshals. Half of these armies would be in active service, and the other half be in reserve, ready to be used when the time is needed. Additionally, there would be 300,000 men serving alongside the Field Armies as the Imperial Gaurds, being responsible for garrisoning Habsburg Territories. The Imperial Gaurds would come under the control of Archduke Charles, and the Imperial Gaurds could be potentionally used for the frontlines if necessary.

"So, I believe we should get right to business.

We understand that the most pressing concern for Britain is Napoleon.

We share a similar contempt towards his aggressive actions against neighboring nations.

I believe in face of current and future challenges, we must work together both millitarily and politically against French and other nations aggression."

“Yes, it seems we are lacking on appropriate opposition to Frances violations of the Treaty of Amiens and as such war is likely to break out soon. That’s why we also concur in working together to limit French influence and as such we propose a alliance. If one is attacked then the other will respond by declaring war on Napoleon. Hopefully you’ll accept.”

“Yes, as long as they are used against Napoleon. It would be disappointing to see weapons meant for use against him being used against Persians or Russians.
