I'm saying that I'm not gonna argue with Britain going against his citizens wishes as long as I still get to sell my slave-produced goods to him. Because the Confederacy loves that human rights abuse money.

Why? The general British populace supported the Union during the civil war and brits prided themselves on suppressing the slave trade. I don’t think all the people who hated slavery would change their mind

The British population may have supported the Union- but still never like them enough to want to actually help them.
And Canada disliked and feared the Union, so i cannot really do anything here.
Nor should i ant to.
I don't want war with the confederacy over slavery, but i can reduce trade with cotton because i have India and Egypt now.

Who should i invade in South America?

Did I mention they supported the Union because it was fighting against slavery? Canadians don’t have to be pro-Union to be against slavery

Argentina is probably the strongest besides you, but it could work.
I would support you anyways.
And you are friends with Uruguay right?

I know, but they can be anti-slavery and not support the Union
It isn't a big problem.

The Confederacy: *wins the civil war and survives into the 1890s*
The world: "Ok, what are you gonna do now?"
The Confederacy: "Idk, I never thought I'd get this far..."

Ferneus wrote:Finally, a fellow racist! Seriously though, having another major power partake in the slave trade would help solidify and legitimize the use of slaves in the South.

Well unless someone joins as the Ottomans. I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.

God, I wish I could read

Haruhi Japan wrote:Our Britain really doesn't know its own history.

Plus, it says they can only search the ships of those who signed the treaty. I ain't signing anything outlawing or restricting the growth or practice of slavery. Because, y'know... Confederacy.

1890s Atlantic slave trade is so cursed

Ethics committee of the scpf wrote:1890s Atlantic slave trade is so cursed

To be honest, this isn't a massive continent-wide trade or some organized effort by multiple nations. This is one nation's desperate last-ditch effort to try to keep slavery going, something that is horribly inefficient and unprofitable.

It isn't really a slave trade if it is only one nation.

i just decided to not care about the confederacy and their policies.
I condemn it, but not to the extent which i would jeopardize my trade with the Confederacy.
i know my history, but i wanted a little bit more alt history in this area.
(I was just attending to my puppets in different regions, now i actually have to go bye)

Haruhi Japan wrote:It isn't really a slave trade if it is only one nation.

Exactly. It isn't a massive organized trade network, this is just some old rich dudes in their 60s trying to keep together a dying economic system with duct-tape and Gorilla Glue. It's not gonna last forever, and nearby African nations are gonna be rightfully pissed.
