We’re glad to be up and running again! We have always valued our regions relationship with Yuno, and we look forward to an even more fruitful chapter in our regions histories.

As of tonight, I will officially be transferring duties to my fellow officers. The UNOA is back!

==OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE HEAD OF COUNCIL==

The Assembly of Councilors has already been busy working with the government to implement policies for The UNOA. Today, the first day of the new government, we have already passed the following resolutions:

Eternal Continuity Act of 2019:
Recognizes the current government and all subsequent governments of The United Nations of the Atlantic as the legitimate governing body of United Nations of the Atlantic and United Nations of the Pacific and the United Nations of the Atlantic as occupied territory.

Regional Holidays Act of 2019:
Establishes two official regional days of celebration on January 15th and April 14th. These days have been named ‘Unification Day’- to celebrate the unification of nations for the creation of the original United Nations of the Atlantic- and ‘Liberation Day’- to commemorate the establishment of The United Nations of the Atlantic by the Kingdom of Esterios as the successor to the fallen homeland- respectively.

Memorandum for the Creation of a Common Currency:
Expresses the intention of The United Nations of the Atlantic to establish a common currency and monetary policy at a later date.

The government and the Assembly will continue to work together to create progress in our region.

Signed,

Head of Council and Deputy Head of Council

I, Statuusve, call on the Assembly of Councilors to pass my resolution, titled the ”Freedom of Choice Act”, to remove the exclusion doctrine from the UNOA which bars radical parties from operating and running in elections.
This is an infringement on democracy in our region that cannot be allowed to stand.

I have been in touch with Prime Minister and Minister of Justice. We are discussing whether or not the presence of such a resolution in and of itself is a violation of the doctrine and therefore cannot be introduced. However, as a service, the Minister of Justice is also looking for ways in which this doctrine could be struck down through other means, if the Assembly were to wish to do so.

As Head of Council, I am not able to give my opinion on this issue.
I will notify all MAs once the Prime Minister and Minister of Justice have gotten back to me.

The Assembly of Councilors has officially passed the Regional Protection Act of 2019, establishing a terrorist-watch list including nations and regions that have posed, continue to pose, or have the potential to pose a significant threat to The United Nations of the Atlantic.
The current list is as follows:
-Mordkan Empire
-Mordka
-Thirteenth-State
-Dream Land
-DreamLand
-United Federation of Communist Nations

These nations/regions and all entities associated with them are barred from entering the UNOA or conducting business among its member nations (unless explicitly excluded from this policy by the Prime Minister).
Additionally, the UNOA will support and participate in any peaceful means of dismantling their wider systems of influence and continue our campaign to end fascism in all its forms within NationStates.
