The Bukwas Blizzards were wiped after their tenth game of Crazy Eights, but now it was time to relax over the promised egg nog and review their practice.
"I'm sorry I had you guys run the Crazy Eights so many times, but even though you did great in the first match, you needed the practice on your takeouts," said Coach Kringle with a twinkle in his eye. "This drill forces you to work on throwing consistent takeout weight, hitting the broom, judging the amount of curl, and setting up angles for double takeouts."
"Hey, you know us, coach, as long as we get egg nog, we're good!" replied Hard Rock, taking a deep pull on his frothy mug.
"And Crazy Eights are fun anyway ... heck, all of the drills are fun," added Suzie. "We'd be doing this even if we weren't in a tournament ... and even without the egg nog!" She smiled and playfully pushed Hard Rock into his mug, covering his beard and mustache with the boozy foam.

Looks like new official addition to the team Designated Driver Butch Coolidge has been named the week one MVP for his services. "Southbound and Ballad took the new members Rubin and Cherise down to the pond for their beginning of the year initiation into The BASTARDS." Said BASTARDS Skip Jane Approximately. "I warned them to stay away from the schnapps before the match." The BASTARDS initiation is to finish a quart of schnapps while lying on your back on the ice. Then someone slides you across the ice until it is gone. "It wouldn't have been so bad, but they all did it a couple of times. Luckily I had Butch drive them back and forth so there wouldn't be any issues. The team all assembled only minutes before the first End was scheduled to begin." The BASTARDS easily dispatched their no0b opponents The Inquisitors. Can the BASTARDS improve to 2-0? Watch tonight and find out!

Minutes after the end of the 1st game
Locker room
"Okay, tell me where we lacked." Coach Griselda Myers asked the team after everyone had changed. "Tell me why we lost that game earlier."
No one spoke.
"Really, nothing?" Myers asked again.
Silence.
"That's why we lost!" Myers burst. "No one is talking about how to play! What needs to be done! All you are telling each other is if it was the throw was good or bad! How about the sweeps?! Or the strategies I told you every start of the round?!"
Myers then walked out and went straight to the team bus. Tammy Blue then stood up, packed, and followed suit. The rest of the team followed.

"God dang boys, they wouldn't let up eh?"
"I need a dart. And a shot. And a joint. Youse guys ready for the bar?"
"Ugh my wife is calling, probably wants me to deal with the kids or something..."
*Insert cries of "Ball and Chain" and whipping sounds from the rest of the team as they continue to mock each other after the game against the Wahkiakum Ten-Pin and Curling Club*

Coach Kringle knew he had a small window of time in which to keep the team's attention before the 'nog took over.
"Ok, team, we won, but just barely. We have to keep in mind that sometimes it's important to change up the plan. You guys chose an aggressive approach ... and I loved it ... but Joe, that freeze should have given you a hint. The reason they got so close was that you left the rock wide open for that hit and roll. If your execution isn't sharp, maybe back off a bit and play to your strengths."
"Sorry, Coach," said Joe glumly, looking into his mug.
"Hey, it's ok, Joe. You guys still did awesome! I'm very proud of you! It's just that it's going to get tougher, and I want you to stay on the Nice List! As a matter of fact, I have a special treat for you ... my wife baked us some pfeffernusse cookies!"
The Bukwas Blizzards cheered as the cookies were passed around. It wasn't long before the team was lost in its usual holiday ruckus.
#ThankfulThursday
I'm thankful even though the world can be so Chaotic and nasty we have good friends around us to make things brighter. Nothing keeps me going like the long list of people who I know have my back! ♡

Oh, also, Happy Thanksgiving you guys. ^-^

Hey Karma,
Love the turkey day surprise. Thank you!
I'm going to echo Kayestha's sentiment towards modern tech. The bulk of my family is now boosted, the Ewok received his first round of Pfizer, and my older girls are in the process of making a decision for themselves. That's plenty to be thankful for right there.
Altino, Bukwas, Kayestha, and New Lablerith
I'm so glad they could get Ewok! Safe Thanksgivings are great Thanksgivings.

As an OG member of both Karma and TSR, I would like to thank the founders Altino and Illahee for being friends with me. Supporting my various NScapades, giving me opportunities when I didn't deserve them, and sitting me down and telling me to get my life together when I did deserve it. Friends like you don't come around often. I value both of you. Without you I would either have left this game or become an even more intolerable jackass.
I am thankful for you!

*sigh* I actually don't know, I could say all the cheesy stuff like food and family, and I am still grateful for those things, but of course I would be grateful for them. I've never really had an experience where I became truly thankful for something, I never really changed from experiences I've been through, or so little I didn't notice. They were just experiences that... happend, stuff that would just become lost in the deep dark abyss of my brain. So, I guess I would be thankful for the memories actually worth keeping, even if there aren't much. I still have the rest of my life though.
