Fascism is good
I never said fast food or retail was going to be my all.
I already take specialized meteorology classes in high school. IT is not necessarily my thing.
90 km/h is way too fast for the roads here, you'd have to drive down the mountain to US 19/74 just to even get to 50 mph (~80 k/ph)
The same reason Hoodies are more expensive than your place is the same reason groceries are almost the price of Hawaii, ($5 for milk. $3 for bread, etc.)
If you go shopping for clothing at Sears or Dollar General, it would likely be closer to $49.99, and shipping from there or amazon would be the aforementioned $62.
I am not sure that you are 14 years old. And unless you can find something with meteorology right now or you have a plan that includes meteorological knowledge, your classes are not very useful. But now, with your specialized classes, your plan is to work 14 hour shifts in Subway for pennies. While you can earn the same in 4 hours by fixing computers, while you are cozy, not standing the entire day and be fined for random and nonsense things. If you don't have knowledge, which you can apply in your current market, then this knowledge is only for your general information, nothing more. I never said that IT is the only possible path, just suggested what you can try. But seems like you prefer to try nothing, but to work in a fast food chain...or?
I wish you good luck. At least in my country, parents don't feel obligated to kick out their kids when they become 18 years old.
In your world, you have 4 of your years to come up with something and acquire useful knowledge, before your parents either force to you pay for staying in their house or just kick you out of the house. At least my observations of american forums, where 17-18 year old people start topics in their panic with titles like "My father said that I must leave the house when I become 18 years old or pay a rent, what I will do!?"...led me to conclusion that USA is not that friendly environment.
But the times are now different and you cant even get by with just "whatever" job.
Hello lovely rejects!

This is a very accurate statement about America. People with overall averages above 95 (A) can start specialized classes in the Freshman year. Otherwise, you need to wait until your overall averages are above 95 or you get into your Junior year. Whilst risky for your GPA, I'd prefer moving to Chattanooga, Atlanta or Charlotte once I'm old enough and have found a college for work. jobs more favorable aren't supposed to get you much money, and not much is hiring around here. Another plausible thing is to start working on tour guides, but my mom doesn't like that idea.
Another idea is to join one of the local leaf blower teams, but that's just the same 9.25/hr as Subway and Subway is a bit more appealing (though not favorable in the long run).

You only need the travel and stay costs covered.
