There are four of us left :P

Due to a lack of activity within the regional government, the Imperial Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of the Press has issued a joint declaration, stating that all foreign media are blocked from presentation in the Empire. It is the view of the Prime Minister and the Senate that if the Union as a region is not currently active, resources can be better spent on national media. (This is not a complaint, although it can sound like one.)

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE UNION CENTRAL GOVERNMENT
The Union Administrator is extremely displeased to hear of the recent termination of rights of free passage to foreign reporters by the Terran Empire. The Union, however, is fully committed to upholding and promoting the rights set forth in our Laws and our Articles of Constitution, and we will thereby not reciprocate by denying entry to Terran media, as has been suggested by some members of the UCL. It is a shame that the Terran Imperial Government does not share our same values of free expression and free press.

The UA noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing to issue a Travel Advisory warning of the potential dangers of travelling to the Terran Empire.

Clarification, any foreign press corps can freely enter and leave the Empire, they just cannot present their works in Imperial territory.

Do you mean that foreign news cannot do reporting in the Empire or that their reporting cannot be distributed within the empire?

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE UNION CENTRAL GOVERNMENT
The Union Administrator, upon hearing that the Terran Imperial Government has decided to ban Liber media from distributing its reporting throughout their Empire, has expressed disappointment that such a developed nation would have no regard for the most basic Freedom of the Press. He wishes to assure all Citizens that the Union remains committed to promoting and protecting fundamental rights. There is currently a proposal in the Legislature to provide grants to independent media within the Terran Empire to allow them to resist the encroachment of their rights by their government. However, at this time the Administrator has not expressed support or opposition to said proposal.

Descriptive, insightful response :P

Free Union Press Association (FUPA) Report:
A recent opinion poll by the Union Center for Foreign Policy of the Central Union University has shown that public opinion of the Terran Empire has again fallen below 50% to 48.5%, with a 3% margin of error. With the overall negative trend of recent months, it is very possible that Terran Foreign Relations will be a topic of debate in the upcoming District Administrator elections. However, no analysts currently predict that it will sway any results. For continuing coverage of this story, please visit fupa.co.un

- For public release to PUSN 2718 May 09...

Ministry of the Press

Following orders from the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister of the Terran Empire, the Ministry of the Press has altered its policy of blocking all foreign media from issuing reports inside of the Empire. From this point on, all foreign media corps are allowed to publish their works for consumption by the populace, but they will not be eligible for the Free Press Grant under the Public Knowledge Act of 2716.

Any press corps within the Empire will also be restricted to the equivalent of 10000 IC in funds transferred from foreign-owned acconuts, unless at least 52% of employees are Terran citizens.

Someone named "Anusland" just requested embassies with the old region lol

Forgive my lack of knowledge on the regional Constitution, I just skimmed it for the first time in months.

Anyways, I would like to ask the Rt. Hon Lord Libertarian democracy if there is any way to attempt to restart the regional Government without the Prime Minister, assuming for the moment that there are still active members of the region?

What is it with people going “Oof” and “no u”. No idea what those imply, please explain.

Looking through the old region message board, and I almost wish for two years ago... Then again, my grades sucked, and I wasn’t doing a research paper on a topic I can’t find enough information on.

I found something:
http://parliamentaryunion.forumotion.org/t630-so-2017-92-union-continuity-act

Article 1 of the Union Continuity Act:
"If by two days following the prescribed constitutional date, the Founder has not called elections that should be held on such date, the Founder's powers as described in Article IV Section 3 of the Constitution of the Union are automatically delegated to Cabinet, which within two (2) days will appoint by unanimous vote a Temporary Elections Official from within the Cabinet to exercise such powers."

So, should the region be ready to restart, Abdoa and I can at any time choose an election official. So, my question is, is the region ready? We wouldn't have a functioning Parliament since we'd need 5 active members to ever pass anything, but we can do plenty through our government institutions like the Recruitment Council.

I'm up for trying to restart the region: I just have to say though, that I probably won't be as active as before (like, by any means), cause of real-world activism and government stuff that I've gotten myself involved/mixed up in in the last few months going back to January. But never fear! I am still dedicated to our region, and I won't let you guys down if we restart this

Totally unrelated, but would you be open to an Abdoa-LibDem 2020 ticket? :P
