*During a warm Carpio day, Gp Capt. Rona Vincent, first North Baban astronaut, felt a certain unease. Butterflies in the stomach were rather uncommon for the tough warrior who had hypersonically reached outer space on a now-world famous E-37 test flight. Alas, such butterflies would have been much welcomed prior to that historic achievement but were nowhere to be found. This peculiar feeling was very specific, some might even call it “stage fright,” for Vicent was about to have her first live television interview. DRB’s morning show had her on set prior to a much expected ticker-tape parade through the North Baban capital, given in her honor by the city’s mayor. At least a million people were expected to attend and many more would see it on their screens. Her anxiety was palpable. Yet, when the time came, she was as cool and collected as ever. Worthy of her new status as a national hero. She described how hypersonic speed felt to being one with her senses, one with Strangereal. “Not much difference from supersonic speed,” she added jokingly. “Just doing my job”*
*That very night, after all the loudspeakers playing patriotic marches and songs about how sunny the day is went silent, the State President of the Democratic Republic of North Baba hosted a state dinner in her honor. The event, which also served to present her with the Hero of the Democratic Republic, the Order of Mendoza, the Meritorious Military Pilot of the Democratic Republic, and the Arístides Porras Prize in addition to officially recognizing her as North Baba’s first astronaut, was attended by National Assembly members, heads of the NBPAF, provincial leaders, the President of the Supreme People's Court, the URSO Secretary-General, the UBT Director-General, and heads of nearly every diplomatic mission in Carpio*

The good old days, when Sallent was actively under siege by itself and its neighbors :P
If you could see if it already works? I already put it in my data book our state
The Krinslo national football team was in a furious state after their last game. They had suffered a humbling 3-2 defeat to Skaraborg, serving as a reminder of the history of defensive issues that had plagued the national team in international competitions.
The World Cup had been off to an almost ideal start for Krinslo, they had managed to achieve a surprising 3-1 win over Utociste-Zeme in their opening game. Samual Tarson had opened the scoring for that game after he got his head to the ball from a corner in the 13th minute which he placed in the back of the net. Tarson continued with his excellent performance for the rest of the match with him sending a through ball towards Oliver Atford in the 37th minute after the Krinslo team successfully defended against a corner, quickly turning it into a successful counter attack and bagging themselves their second goal of the game. Tarson continued to impress with a 45+2 minute goal from outside the box to bring Krinslo up to 3 goals in their first game.
Tarson and was the main reason for the Krinslo’s national team’s successful start to the international competition. However Tarson had been pulled from the second game of the group over fear that he might reignite his injury that he suffered towards the end of the season. He was later ruled as being fine but instead the manager William Evtrason had chosen to rest him so that he would be in better condition for the knockout rounds of the tournament.
The second game of the group was much less favourable towards Krinslo, they would go on to suffer a 2-3 humbling defeat to Skaraborg which has put their chances of winning the group stages and let alone tournament into question. With the absence of Tarson the team had decided to bring on Desin and play more defensively with 3 at the back. This turned out to be a mistake. The game started poorly for Krinslo with unnecessarily harsh tackles and careless passes occurring in every position and giving their opponents plenty of chances early on to open the score sheet. It was only 20 minutes into the first half that Nof was brought on for Ratison to add some additional defensive stability at the expense of the teams attack. It was not until the second half that Krinslo was able to score their first goal of the game, a magnificent solo goal by Wilson who brought the ball from the half way line all the way into the 6 yard box where he put Krinslo on the score sheet in the 56th minute and gave them a hope in the game. The impact of the gaol was clear to see as the teams performances picked up almost immediately and soon in the 68th minute a cross from Etrason found the head of Wilson for him to score his second of the game! Unfortunately however it was not enough as the team struggles to find the 3rd goal that they so desperately needed.
“Of course I’m disappointed to have lost here tonight. What manager wouldn’t be!!??” Manager Evtrason said in a post match interview “The boys played well in the second half but the first half was not good enough, nowhere near. We are going to practice night and day for our next game against Antiyard and we are going to win, of that I stake my reputation as this nations manager!! With Tarson back now, I feel even more safer making that statement.”
The team now sits 2nd in their group, ahead of Utociste-Zeme by 1 goal difference and 2 points ahead of Antiyard who currently sits bottom in the Group. This puts the teams chances of qualification into risk as a defeat or draw in their next game may well mean that they leave the tournament early. On the other hand a win in their next game may allow them to leap past Skaraborg who currently sit at top of the group but only by 1 point ahead of Krinslo.
It’s all to play for in group B as the team enter their final days games.

Well, that's good!
Not really under siege, but certainly on its toes. The days of Monarchial rule, good ties with OSEAN with the grand osean railway going through Sallent, the Gressoti Revolution (and Lorigian Skirmishes), Military buildup, winning the Three Day War by doing nothing, certainly the peak of my activity.
