Jousting

Brought into Madrueji from a foreign land, jousting involves two heavily armored horsemen charging at each other with lances. The objective is to break your lance on your opponent's shield, and if your lucky, to unhorse him at the same time. Deaths are not unheard of in this sport, even with the riders being far more heavily armored than normal and using breakable lances.

Polo

Another equestrian sport, polo has two teams of four players attempting to hit a ball into the opposing team's goal while on horseback, using long wooden sticks. It has been called the "game of kings" due to the immense cost of maintaining enough horses to have fresh mounts for the duration of the game.

Archery

Whether on foot or horseback, archery competitions have gone as far back as the founding of Madrueji. Contestants seek to show off their accuracy and shooting skills by hitting difficult targets at long ranges. Crossbow and musket competitions also exist.

Jereed

Jereed is a sport that involves flinging wooden javelins with blunted tips at opposing horsemen with the intent of striking or knocking them off their mounts. Riders can also score points by catching the javelins in the air before they strike the players. Targeting the horses is forbidden in this game.

Matrak

Matrak is a type of combat sport involving two individuals fighting against one another with a wooden stick wrapped in leather and a leather wrapped shield. It was designed as a way for soliders to practice fighting without seriosuly injuring or killing one another in duels.

Horse Racing

While the chariot has fallen out of use for this purpose, horse racing is still a popular pastime within Madrueji, with both commoners and nobles alike transfixed by the action such events bring. In addition to horses, camels are also popular as racing beasts, while the Desert Dwarves prefer to race ostriches instead.

Chess

Not a sport of the body, but rather of the mind, chess is popular among all classes of Madruejian citizens, as anyone can learn the game even with a small space to work with.

Hunting

Hunting for sport, as opposed to for food or supplies, is practiced by the nobility and upper class. Of course, the more dangerous the beast, the more glory there is for the hunters, so monster hunts are quite common, despite the risk involved in such endeavors. Hunters often make use of dogs and hawks or falcons to help them catch their quarry.

Wrestling

One of the most common martial arts, wrestling is practiced by both commoners and soldiers alike, although Madruejian wrestling is more similar to MMA than pure grappling. A variant of the sport is known as "oil wrestling", where combatants coat themselves in olive oil so that even more technique and strength is needed to put their opponent into submission.

YOUNG BLOODS is the first gripping novel in Simon Scarrow’s bestselling Wellington and Napoleon quartet. Perfect for fans of Robert Harris.

With a firm belief that the nation must be led by a king, the red-coated British officer heads for battle against the French Republic, to restore the fallen monarchy.

Napoleon Bonaparte joins the French military on the eve of the Revolution.

He believes leadership is won by merit, not by noble birth.

Overview :-

'Most gulls don’t bother to learn more than the simplest facts of flight –

how to get from shore to food and back again,’

writes author Richard Bach in this allegory about a unique bird named Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

‘For most gulls it is not flying that matters, but eating.

For this gull, though, it was not eating that mattered, but flight.’

Flight is indeed the metaphor that makes this story soar.

THE POLARIS LIBRARY

Synopsis :-

His name is Druss.

The stories of his life are told everywhere. But the grizzled veteran has spurned a life of fame and fortune and retreated to the solitude of his mountain lair.

His home is Dros Delnoch.

And it is the only route through the mountains for the army laying waste the country around them. Once the stronghold of the Drenai, the fortress of Dros Delnoch will now be their last battleground. And Druss will be its last hope.

His story is LEGEND.

The Drenai Empire is under threat. The tribal Nadir people have been united for the first time by the great warleader Ulric, who has forged a massive empire in the North. The Drenai leader Abalayn is trying to negotiate new treaties with Ulric, but war is brewing and an over 500,000 strong Nadir army marches on the fortress of Dros Delnoch, gateway to the Drenai heartlands. Dros Delnoch is the greatest fortress in the world, a narrow pass guarded by six high walls and a great keep, but under Abalayn its complement of defenders has been reduced to less than 10,000 men under the leadership of an unfit General.

The fate of the Drenai hinges on the defence of Dros Delnoch. If the fortress can hold the Nadir horde for three months, the Drenai general Magnus Woundweaver might be able to gather and train a Drenai army. However, given the odds, no-one truly believes that Delnoch can be held.

The novel follows the stories of two men who find their destiny at Dros Delnoch. Regnak Wanderer (Rek for short) an ex-army officer and natural 'baresark', seeing a war brewing, resigned his commission because he lacked the courage to risk his life and took to a life of wandering. Rek is an idealist and eventually he returns to Delnoch at the persuasion of the woman he falls in love with and finds his destiny as the Earl of Bronze. The other man is the greatest hero of the Drenai people - Druss the Legend. His death was foretold defending Delnoch and while given the choice to avoid it and fall into senility Druss (and his once possessed axe Snaga) marched to the great fortress to defend his people one last time. In this story Druss is in his sixties and much weaker than his prime but still a formidable warrior and an inspirational leader to the Drenai. The story also flicks into the perspective of several defenders during different stages of the siege as time goes on. It also follows The Thirty, a group of 30 warrior priests of the light whose purpose is to fight and die (except for one priest that leaves to continue the order at the end of each great battle) for the greater good and their people, the Drenai.

Jakit wrote:Golf.

as someone who used to play golf i will tell you this :
-its a waste of land and resources
-if you want to play a sport that requires you to purchase lots of equipment, play airsoft instead, 10x more productive than golf, usually legal in most countries, and the community is usually quite nice, and also its good exercise, bending your spine in an uncomfortable position just so you dont get shouted at is not exercise,
-most golf equipment is useless, you have several irons of different size, you have a putty, and you have a literal war club, also called a driver, all of these are useless because they specialize in one area, suck in that area, and suck 10x in every other area, then there is the hybrid, hybrids are the best golf club, basically a smaller driver, they are a jack of all trades, and a master of all them, except for putting, i used my hybrid a lot, if i wanted to shoot at a long range, i would not use my driver, i would use my hybrid, would hate golf less if they got rid of putting and every other club and everyone used hybrids,
-and lastly, golf is boring,

the most fun ive had in golf was when we went to a huge park and i got to drive a golf kart, which was against the rules becos minors cant use the karts, a rule only further proven by my sisters terrible driving, though lets be honest, i was quite hesitant to hit the brakes becos i was trying to moderate tge speed or whatever

tl;dr golf bad

Because as former MoWAA (disgraced) and LCM of TCB I have learned that a proposal being valid is not the same as a proposal being strong,

You're gonna need a lot more than 3 to 5 points to convince me it's strong.

Lemsrow wrote:Hey! Atleast the three of us have better civil rights that you. Unlike your stratocratic government which the military controls. Yuck.

How are we even stratocratic when Brettoverdt died from a septic shock and our current Ærttons got ;pban'd by a goddamn bomb?

Your experience notwithstanding, you haven't answered my question, but I will respect it if you don't feel like answering. Yet in that case I cannot take your statement that my proposal is 'weak' seriously.
