Crossing the Langtyze River

When the army approached the river, they were harassed by enemy sniper fire and other small arms fire. However, scouting showed no major enemy formations on the river. It appeared that the Imperial Army had lagged behind, or were unaware that the Militia would try and make a hasty crossing. Infantry were sent to cross the rivers numerous pedestrian bridges, facing light company level resistance at each bridge. It appeared that the Imperial Army had sent some forces to slow down the Militia, but had been unable to move a large number of enemy forces in time. Soon, the bridges were cleared, and the armored support could cross without threat of the bigger bridges being destroyed. An immediate cross river HQ had been established, but their sector of the river needed to occupied and secured. up and down their sector, the Militia split up their smaller units to occupy their stretch of the river, and Carbone established a HQ behind a set of defensive works. Carbone established a line of communication with the provisional capital, and wanted to begin bringing the majority of his army across. However, scouts quickly reported that, cresting the full moon, a large enemy formation was moving towards their sector of the river, with what was being reported as "a formation of upwards of 8,000 infantry with an unknown amount of armored support."
It was clear the fight for the river was not over yet.

"...I assume no one here wants to support both sides, or even want to get involved, right?" Jim Bill, leader of the 2nd leading party, People's Party of Flufferonia, asked, as Flufferonia was now in charge of the entire country, as the only autonomous state in Memester to have a separate government, while the Federal and Royal Government are in exile. "Hold on, the exiled government has sent an email, from their location in White Plains, Illuverendia!" The Speaker to the Royal Flufferonian Government, Scott, told everyone. "Let us read it then." Ian, the Chancellor of Flufferonia, responded, as Scott began reading it.
From the Exiled Federal and Royal Governments of Memester, in White Plains, Illuverendia:
We do not support both sides of the conflict in the Vapian colony of Song-tao. However, we will not choose the side too, as we prefer to stay neutral. The Royal Government in exile has voted an unanimous 50-0, and the Federal Government, 1501-49 for not choosing a side to the conflict, and staying neutral. We have given our thoughts on what we should do, and we are waiting for what you guys would prefer.

After reading out what was sent to them, the Flufferonians then began a vote, considering much has been spoken about this other conflict.
"All votes have been given." The Speaker looked up, as he tallied the votes. "The Royal Government of the Autonomous State of Flufferonia, today votes for staying neutral on the other conflict." The Speaker finishes tallying the votes, and began to announce it to the Parliament. "With 97-53, the Autonomous State, and the Memesterian nation, declares itself, neutral in this conflict." Scott announces the results to the parliament, who then clapped.
And so, with the Exiled and the acting government preferring to stay neutral in this other conflict, Memester will not get involved in the current rebellion of the Vapian colony of Song-tao, mostly because of them bordering Vapian Altus, and also, just so that they can focus on the Memesterian Civil War.
