Prydania,

Have you ever thought about joining the Gameside Advocates and leading people to the RP scene that way?

Post by Francois Isidore suppressed by Territorio di Nessuno.

Prydania,

With four minutes left, this will be my second to last question for the evening:

How has being in the North Pacific shaped your outlook on online communities? Name one thing that’s left a good impression and name one thing that’s regrettable.

Prydania Is there any question you wish you were asked, but weren't? Answer it please. :D

Tonight’s episdose of "Meet the RMB" has come to an end!

Thank you, Prydania for answering everyone’s questions. Hopefully you and everyone asking questions enjoyed tonight's little event.

If you want More AMA’s don’t worry they are coming. Keep an eye on our dispatch!

Meet the RMB - Season 3

Produced by the Gameside Advocates of The North Pacific

What is this?

After the success of the last two seasons, the ask-me-anything (AMA) series hosted on the Regional Message Board (RMB) will resume once again, this time with a few new faces. This series is meant to allow the nations of The North Pacific to get to know their government officials more intimately. Each week, one government official will spend an hour answering any questions that are asked of them on the RMB.

What kind of questions can I ask?

You can ask anything as long as it appropriate for the RMB! NationStates site rules still apply.

How do I ask a question?

Simply head on over to the RMB during the AMA time slot, and lodge a message with your question. Please make sure to mention the government official in your message so it doesn't get missed.

When does Meet the RMB take place?

Meet the RMB is scheduled to take place every Saturday (preferably) for the remainder of the term. The exact times may vary depending on the government official's availability. Please keep an eye on this dispatch, as it will be updated frequently.

Who will be featured in this series?

This series will be kicked off with AMAs featuring the Delegate and their Cabinet. We hope to expand this event to include the Vice Delegate, Speaker, Attorney General, Court Justices, and other government officials in the near future.

What's the current schedule?

Hopefully Pry will get back to us with those last answers.

Now that's over I can trash talk Aerilia.

What a loser am I right?

El Fiji Grande wrote:Hopefully Pry will get back to us with those last answers.

Or...he's been kidnapped?

Or maybe their computer crashed and caught alight from all those mentions?

Zazumo wrote:Now that's over I can trash talk Aerilia.

Who's he?

Aerilia wrote:Who's he?

Don't worry about it. You're not missing much.

Zazumo wrote:Don't worry about it. You're not missing much.

Why shouldn't I worry about it?

You're making me worried

Dinoium wrote:Prydania Do you love pings?

Perhaps.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Anyone you believe is underrated in their current capacity to which they serve the North Pacific? Who is it, if anyone?

I think the great thing about TNP is that you can prove yourself very easily. I would say that as a result anyone who's interested in doing something in government has either proved themselves or is in the process of doing so. You're going to be a huge player though, even if others don't know it ;)

Zazumo wrote:Prydania Have we broken your computer yet?

Never.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

What’s your favorite aspect of the North Pacific’s community?

The openness, and the willing to debate without getting shut down. And the willingness to allow people to prove themselves.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Is there anyone in the North Pacific that you’d like to sit down with and recruit to the Ministry of Culture based upon your foresight into their potential in that area?

Sil Dorsett! I'd love to have him as a Deputy or staff member, but he's doing great work as our VD. So despite me wanting him on board? I'm happy I can't have him given what he's doing :)

The Austro Germanic Union wrote:Prydania, What’s your favorite joke?

It's the middle ages. The Pope declares that all of the Jews in Italy must leave, but this causes unrest in Rome. So the Pope agrees to a debate with the head rabbi of Rome's Jewish community. If the rabbi wins? The Jews can stay. Problem is the rabbi doesn't speak Italian or Latin, and the Pope speaks no Hebrew. So it's a non-verbal debate.

The Pope holds up three fingers. The rabbi responds with one finger.
The Pope waves his hand around above his head. The rabbi points to the ground.
The Pope takes out the communion wafers and wine. The rabbi takes out an apple.

The Pope then gets up and goes "the rabbi has beat me. The Jews can stay."

Later the Cardinals ask the Pope what had happened. The Pope replies...
"I held up three fingers to symbolize the trinity. The rabbi held up one finger to remind me that there is ultimately only one god. Then I waved my hand to show the rabbi that god judges us in heaven, but the rabbi reminded me that god is also here, with us, on Earth. Then I showed him the wafers and wine to remind him what Jesus died on the cross for, to forgive our sins. But he reminded me with the apple that we all struggle with original sin. At that point I could not continue. I had to concede."

Later the elders of the Jewish ghetto are asking the rabbi what happened. The rabbi said...
"Well he held up three fingers to say the Jews had three days to leave Rome. I held up a finger to say 'stop it, we're not going anywhere!' Then he waved his hand to say the Jews would be cleansed from Italy. I pointed at the ground to say 'no, we're staying right here!'"

"And then what?" the elders asked. The rabbi shrugged.
"I don't know. He took out his lunch so I took out mine."

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Tell us a bit about how you got started with RolePlay. If it wasn’t on NationStates, where did you first try it?

It was NS. I joined in 2006 as Inglo-scotia and I began RPing in The Lexicon. Eluvatar was even there! Then I left with a bunch of Lex RPers to found Taijitu.

Dinoium wrote:Prydania If your computer stops working, can I have it so I can add it to my collection of broken computers?

Of course!

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

What’s one thing that you think people shouldn’t put so much stock into when it comes to any player involved in government?

I think all players need to learn to let potentially personal insults slide a bit. Myself included. This is a game. Of course that means people shouldn't insult others, but it also means that when insults happen you need to let it go.

Chuce wrote:Prydania What relationship should the RP community have with the government of TNP?

It's my opinion, based off of a lot of NS RP experience, that the RP scene thrives when it's left to run itself. Culture plays a role, of course, but RP needs to be able to be its own beast.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Name something you wish would have gone differently during Pallaith’s term.

I wish certain controversial people hadn't attempted to gain citizenship just to "test" our government's resolve. It put everyone in a very tense and rough place.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Likewise, is there anyone you feel that’s overrated in what they currently do? No need to name names or call anyone out, just a simple yes or no.

Yes. That's bound to happen with any large community though.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

What’s next in the evolution of how our RolePlay communities on-site and on the forums interact with one another?

I think Discord is the natural evolution of the old IRC servers. Part of why I think TNP RP is so strong is because we have our own dedicated RP server that keeps people connected. I'm unsure where it goes from here, but a part of my term as Minister of Culture will be stressing on ways for RPers to improve through the convention we're putting together with GD and the RP Seminar Series. So I want to see RP become more educational in terms of teaching people the art of writing and worldbuilding.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

If RolePlay wasn’t anywhere near as easily accessible on NationStates, where do you think you would have found your niche in its absence?

I probably would have given DnD a more serious go then I did.

Prydania what is your favourite RP you have done and where can I read it?

Good, you should worry. TNP is a violent place. Watch your back around here.

Aerilia wrote:Good thing I'm in the mafia...

Interesting, I was paid to wear a wire and incriminate a local Mafia member.

Sooo, do you have any illegal plans you'd like to share?

Frances Francis the First of France wrote:Prydania would you rather be responsible for the death of captain Picard or commander Riker.

Riker's my man...I could never let him die.

Zazumo wrote:Prydania if you had to banject Territorio di Nessuno or Aerilia who would to pick?

I would banject Syrixia and make a public statement as to how hard that was for me.

Gladio II wrote:Prydania, Death by Crucifixion or impalement?

Why not go the way of my fellow Jew, Jesus of Nazareth? ;)

Gladio II wrote:Prydania If you can banject anyone from the region, who would that be ?

That White Guard guy >:(

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Do you think that the North Pacific’s best days are ahead of it? Why?

Yep. One thing being in NS since 2006 has taught me is that it's always reinventing itself and the best is always over the hills.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Have you enjoyed the last 3/4s of an hour? Or is being asked this many questions a tad overwhelming?

It's been fun! I've enjoyed myself.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Swap any two members of the Executive Council out and go off of a variant of Fiji’s cabinet to serve the region. If you had to take out two Ministers sitting currently and switch them to eachother’s Ministries, which two would you pick?

Give Tlmoz culture and me WA Affairs :P Just for shiggles.

El Fiji Grande wrote:Prydania - Is there any single RP post you think should be given a bit of extra attention for how well it was written?

Norsia's work in The House of Rebellion was very good. It wasn't ignored by any means but I think it should be regarded higher then it is.

Aerilia wrote:Prydania you are stuck on a deserted island, and you are only able to have one object with you, what would it be?

Water filter!

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

If the North Pacific didn’t have the people it did for RP, would you still enjoy it? Why or why not?

I admit I'm mostly here for the RP. So probably not :(
That said the people here are wonderful.

Kite2 wrote:Why Greater Dienstad? Why not other regions as well?

We've worked with them in the past, and we have a RP treaty with them. We mesh well.
That being said the planned convention will include at least one other region. So we're certainly not limiting ourselves.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Handpick the next Delegate after Fiji. Rather he serves one term or two terms, who’s the next man up after him in your eyes?

Dino or Wonderess.

Zazumo wrote:Prydania on a scale of 1-10 how would you rate tonight's AMA? Would you do it again?

10, I'd definitely do it again.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Have you ever thought about joining the Gameside Advocates and leading people to the RP scene that way?

Eh, potentially. It's something to consider.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

Why Prydania? What’s the origin of your name?

I was Inglo-Scotia for a long time. That limited me, as it's a Britain expy. So I took advantage of a Taijitu RP reboot around 2014 to create Prydania. The name is derived from a Welsh term for the island of Britain, but it's not so obvious as to lock me into anything. As I created Prydania it became more Nordic and less British, so the name is a bit of a relic. Still? It's not so blatant as Inglo-Scotia was, so I've kept it.

Francois Isidore wrote:Prydania,

It's actually gotten me to appreciate the potential for online writing communities. The RP scene, Eras especially, is very much a collaborative creative writing project. I never would have thought an online community could excel in the way the TNP RP community has.

El Fiji Grande wrote:Prydania Is there any question you wish you were asked, but weren't? Answer it please. :D

I wish I had been asked about the differences between RMB and Forum RP so I could go on about how we need to stop thinking of our community in terms of Forum or RMB and embrace being TNPers! :P

Anyway thank you all for your questions!

Oh, so we concrete the trolls feet then chuck them into the ocean, well first we rob them of course, they won't need it anymore.

Don't you wonder why there has been a lack of trolls, and a high sea level rise?

I'm going to abolish Capitalism soon.
