Air Operations:
Over Al-Anbar, strike packages drop an estimated 160,000 lbs of ordnance on enemy positions. The central bases are attacked with 2,000 lb "bunker-buster" laser guided bombs, while smaller structures are targeted with smaller bombs and missiles. They also target electrical and communications infrastructure. Fighter escorts keep an eye out for Iraqi aircraft.

Ground Operations:
An extra 800 soldiers are moved into Baghdad.

Air Operations:
Military bases in Al-Anbar are utterly devastated by Iranian bombs. Thanks to the bombs striking at communications infrastructure, Saddam Hussein is unable to communicate with bases in Al-Anbar. Numerous bases are destroyed, and many other are abandoned. Only a few bases (Al Asad Airbase and H-1 Air Base) aren't completely abandoned or surrendered to Iranian/rebel forces. Soldiers from abandoned bases mostly flee to Babil, Karbala, and Salah al-Din governorates.
