Funny thing, i was yakking on for a good hour to my friendly colleague nurses about my best buddy in uni.. Ah, man. Those were the days. We were inseperable and insane : ) Now he's in the USA pretending to have my personality instead of being his lovable fat self.

What an amazing friendship we had, what amazing times those years in uni were. And how amazing that this nostalgic thingamajig came up twice in a day, it's been nearly a year i havent talked to him

At least you have friends

Why does this song remind you of your buddy from college?

Esk shrugs with most of her body. "It's good. I'm getting tired of school, but it's still good."

"Rather be building your family, eh?" Mother Charity's eyes twinkle.

Esk turns faintly pink and nods.

these are not the words you're looking for...

Dreamersistan wrote:
Oh. Because this song is translatable to"

'This bond of friendship,
We will never break,
We'll stop drawing breath, but,
A step away from each other's side,
We'll never take,'

Which is how we were. I got kicked out of more than 1 place of medical apprenticeship, due to my... habit of finding the trainee nurses' hostels and finding my way in like a fox into a chicken coop (and even WORSE habit of getting caught like a moron)

And my friend actually transferred to different hospitals, even to 2 different countries with me. Even brothers might not do that much. Also I could'nt drive for the first few years of Uni (long story, fights with the traffic police in boxing days), so my friend drove me everywhere. We basically lived together, people suspected us of being gay <rofl> Even though I scored more chicks than half my batch put together. I worked my best to teach my friend how to pick up girls, and he taught me how much fun socialising with people and solving things diplomatically and trolling people was.

I've always had incredibly intense friendships with other men because, well, I'm the kinda guy you have to be very mentally strong to befriend and really get close with : ) I physically and intellectually challenge people all the time, I (specially in my youth) pull pranks and mess with people instinctually. So only someone similiar can hang with me. My best bud and I were the menace of not just OUR uni, but of the whole country's college system (since i was in multiple programs at the same time, and he had 6 brothers, 3 of which studied in other unis I was in.) We were constantly together, constantly in the same car (his car), we lived together, I picked up and dated girls, he made them breakfast, we laughed at everyone, we knew each other's thoughts so well we could communicate by eye signals, body language signals.. They called us many things. Turk and Fat JD, the two ****ers (rofl), Batman and Fatman, Mike tyson and Fat Albert. A lot of college girlfriends, if not all, I'd guess, were jealous they never had a relationship like we did.

Ah. Those were the days, those were some awesome days. Also, his english SUCKED and he could nver have passed without me teching him every little bit he knew. I kinda got motivation for studying by teaching his fat lazy butt. He was and is a brilliant business mind, though, and very tricky. Very, VERY clever man. He cheated me quite a few times too : ) Wasn't all good times, we had some epic fights (not literally, because I'd crush him). We even lived for about 5 months in the car, when we were thrown out of our apartment in a strange industrial city in a foreign country, and no one in the area would rent us an apartment (my fault).

There are literally just too many stories, suffice to say, we were much like the friends in that video. Insane and inseparable. But unlike that movie, i've heard from 6 times in the last 10 years so.. the inseparability didn't last : ) Such is life. But the memories, ah, the memories...

Oh, and the hundreds of videos and audio clips we recorded, back when smart phones weren't even invented. Some of the worst sung songs, and the worst pranks we pulled on each other, recorded in 176x144 res .3gp video and 12kbps AMR audio : ) I still keep em and watch em. I believe had we been born maybe 7 years later, we'd be among the first youtube prank celebrities. Because when WE were recording that crap, even rich people didnt buy phones with cameras. It was considered idiotic to put a phone in a camera, cuz they were so terrible

Volinovia wrote:Honestly, I think the problem with the RMP RP is the fact that not a lot of people make RP scenarios. Plus NS rules say you can opt-out of a possible scenario giving people the perfect opportunity to leave scenarios that could be great. (I.E Lerasi with the H1N1 virus.) Now, I am not complaining about that rule as much as I think they use it as an excuse to not see anything remotely bad happen to their country. (I AM NOT SAYING EVERYONE IS GUILTY OF THIS.) Imagine if people were to RP hurricanes, diseases, natural disasters. Think if people were to RP huge summits for international organizations. (Of course, the huge international organizations are hard because no one sees eye to eye here, and that is not a bad thing.) I am just saying that the variety of RMB RP gets stale to people. It is just war and how to make your nation as geopolitically powerful as you can. I am not saying we should quit that, I am just saying that there is MUCH room for expansion. Imagine RPing a college rating system where countries compete to be the most educated, RPing trades of goods, and even just writing a little story on daily life in their country. That could expand the culture, of both the RMB and their countries massively. Of course, I am not saying that everything I do is perfect. I feel as if my RP writing is not nearly as good as other people's. But I am trying to improve it. And I am not saying that I am a ¨RMB RP GOD¨ because I do something other than war. War is going to happen, we are countries for god sake and there are a few of you I want to hang from a f*cking balcony sometimes. All I am saying is that people should create RPs when they are bored instead of sitting in their boredom, and we should diversify from war into different categories of international, and geopolitical relations. Combined with natural disasters and general updates on life in your country and how it functions.

The thing is, qhat if I want to do another roleplay? Or what if I dont qant thousands of my people to die, because that'll alter a roleplay I want to do?

Now, would it be nice? Yes, it would. But most people wont do them because it throws a wrench into normal national operations, they can't roleplay politically when their leaders are dying.

Competing for better economies and education is great an all, but the issue is that soon everyone will be perfect nations. The RMB has very fast progression, and has a strong lack of factors that would usually prevent progression as a nation irl. For example, companies and racism in America are slowing down educational and judicial rights progress respectively, but such factors aren't present in the RMB.

Our nation's are created to be simple due to our lack of knowledge. If we want to expand on our nations, we would have to do research, but most of us don't have time to sit continuously/nor want to spend our time learning in order to play a game.

As for the summits, it becomes very difficult and influence of summits are easily lost because many nation's either can't show up, or don't show up at the time of the roleplay. So when they loose their seat at the rable, they may decide to ignore the summit. And because we have no UN, they can get away with it.

To enact competition and summits, the RMB needs to implement consequences and effects into roleplay. Currently, it's easy to jump into war, easy to field 3000000 soldiers, easy to let companies do what they want yet have the perfect education.

Large international operations are interwsting, though.

We need more realism to do half of what you're suggesting. But that take a up a lot of time of research.

But that's my view on it. It's a good ideal, but it relies on the individuals.
