The Republic of Trev Continues expansion South
Having completed the expansion goal of stretching from East to west the Republic of Trev has found new ambition in Mexico. With that the congress narrowly passed a declaration of war with a 69-31 vote. The Trevian forces began on the Baja peninsula easily taking the barely controlled part of Mexico on the Peninsula. With that they continued expanding the Trevian border southern. The Trevian government had formed a partnership with the Mexican Cartel for peace. They united against the Mexican government, and while the cartel gave them trouble elsewhere the Trevian forces easily swept the northern Mexican manufacturing centers. Not only would this fix the rip off of Trevian companies from northern manufacturing companies that avoided taxes, but it would immensely boost the Trevian economy. The takeover was relatively easy, but when the Trevian forces met resistance in north Mexico they halted conquest, and built camps in these northern manufacturing centers. These Mexican territories were happy to be rescued from the corruption of the Mexican government, and the constant conflict between the cartels and the government. This would be interesting as the Mexican government was caught between two wars it was bound to crumble.

The Republic of Trev eases sanctions, lowers tariffs, and is set to resume trade
The President of the Republic of Trev said Friday, “Peace will prevail in this conflict. In the end our number 1 priority will be the safety and longevity of our great nation. We will not be threatened by any enemy of our country, and we are glad to see tensions calm down” The leader then lowered tariffs to 20%, and an enacted a plan to slowly lower tariffs if peace remains. All sanctions on the banks of El Haluf was lifted although minor sanctions remained on Japan. Tariffs on Japan were lowered to 25% and the same plan was enacted to slowly lower tariffs. Ships deployed to Southern California were docked at the newly gained Baja Peninsula and for now peace appeared to prevail. He also lifted the sanction ending all oil and agricultural sales to both countries, and trade was returned to these regions with a slight tariff.

Trevian Government begins Colonial expansion plan as economy thrives
The Trevian government after several peaceful acquisitions of new territory saw a sharp rise in tax revenue. With that the economy was on the rise new manufacturing centers were being established, and taxes were lowered to 20% flat tax with no exceptions for anyone. The consumer was empowered more than ever in the Trevian economy because spending was at an all time high and people were thriving. With the economy thriving, and the excess money rolling in to the government a colonial expansion plan was drawn up, and the Trevian government began to enact plans to fund colonial expansion and exploration in South America, Africa, and the Pacific.

Southern expansion

South of the USSR lays warlords who’s armies have taken on the role as military governors and supposed protectors of the land they occupy, against the socialist threat they fear, when in reality they are just using the land’s resources for their own profit. Anton Denikin, a Russian imperialist, has set up a southern government not far from Moscow and its army grows ever so large and power hungry. ‘’This government of imperialists must be halted before it grows to strike us in the legs!’’ Vladimir Lenin said to Leon Trotsky at a meeting. Dues Leon Trotsky and Lenin sent Kliment Voroshilov to begin preparations for an invasion. Almost the entire Southwestern front was called for the invasion. The armies involved were:
• 12th Army
• 13th Army
• 6th army
• 1st Cavalry Army
• 14th Army
• 2nd Cavalry Army
Many notable Soviet commanders where also called:
Alexander Yegorov, Joseph Stalin, Leonid Serebryakov, Semyon Aralov and more. Many were assigned to Chief of Staff and Members of the Revolutionary Military Council. The tactics were changed sometimes but was primarily charge and dig in trench warfare tactics commonly seen though out the civil war. The southwestern front while sometimes lacking in supplies were effective and well trained having seen action in early stage of the civil war. Meanwhile in Anton Denikin’s army, known as the Antonoviks, the most notable commanders was Alexander Kutepov and Konstantin Mamontov. Alexander Kutepov had warned Anton of the possibility and danger of a Bolshevik invasion and told that the ‘’army would be on the brink of utter complete collapse and retreat if the reds invaded.’’ Nonetheless Anton invested less attention on army reform and more on trying to bribe and convince other Russian commanders to join his government. His attempts were unsuccessful and many times had crippled his government’s pockets of money. Anton had however successfully taken over a large portion of the Don region but again at the cost of much equipment and resources. Antons government was now out of money to reform, out of resources and supplies to supply his army enough in the case of invasion. Konstantin Mamontov was a great military commander but Antons lust for power and to expand had left his units dried out and unfit for fighting especially against a army like the Bolsheviks.

The Bolshevik first offensive began at dawn when they began attacking the enemy position which were stretched and unprepared. The positions fell within hours and by the time Anton had heard the news around 85,000 troops had been captured along with 84 officers and the biggest blow to the Antonoviks so far, Alexander Kutepov. Kutepov had been visiting the troops on the frontline to inspect and later give a report to Anton but, while he was sleeping, his position was being captured and encircled. Bolshevik troops had sneakily infiltrated the position as many of the soldiers where unprepared or asleep. This massive initial blow has left a permanent mark on Antons government and after the news were released many defected or committed mutiny, refusing to fight in a unwinnable invasion. Antons army had now gone down to just 80 000 men of which only 69 000 were properly equipped and according to Konstantin Mamontov only 60% of the army was likely well trained. Yet even though these massive defeats proved the inefficiency of the army, Anton insisted on resisting and fighting back. He then denied Konstantin Mamontov request to fall back south along the Don river to try and re-organize, Anton argued that if they fell back then they would look weak. something he didn’t wish to do since he wanted to gain the loyalty of other Russian commanders. Dues even more of his army was captured and defeated as they were charged away by Bolshevik cavalry and shot by Bolshevik infantry. Anton now relied on the 2nd Army Corps commanded by Michael Promtov to hold the line but Michael had already many doubts about the success of Antons army. Later that week after the soviet invasion had cooled down, Anton ordered an offensive but by then rations, supplies and moral had gone down so drastically that it was impossible to get the soldiers to try and break the soviet line. So he called his ally in southern Ukraine, Pyotr Wrangel, to help in a new offensive but Wrangel when given the news and told about Antons failures in halting the Bolshevik advance, all Wrangel could say in reply was: ‘’Your failure is your doom dues I will not commit my forces to an unwinnable war for the profit of a failed state.’’ This was essentially the nail in the coffin for Antons army as the red army now had not only halted Antons offensive but pushed further down the Don river. Now many officers in his army were supposedly conspiring against him.
Meanwhile in the soviet command the commanders were celebrating an early victory for the red army. For the initial success and tactical genius of their invasion Kliment Voroshilov and Alexander Yegorov were rewarded the Order of the Red Banner. now the red army stands firm along the Don river and is ready for another offensive. Antons army is barely holding on while Anton himself faces one of the biggest humiliations in his life.

As the Fuji army advances to the south, they are met with heavy fire. Though victory is met, there is still one more issue that the Fujian army must solve. There is a group of soldiers stranded in the southern most point of the expansion. They carry vital instructions on which factions are hostile in the area and which are not.

You must find them and bring them to safety to efficiently secure your claim.

Soviet rescue

The Soviet advance having secured the vital river ports and found itself in a powerful position. The red army now prepared for an offensive but its plans are at risk as some soldiers carrying vital plans have found themselves in a tricky situation. The soldiers have been encountered by enemy forces and if they are captured than all plans for the offensive will fall into enemy hands. This is unacceptable and so Alexander Yegorov has sent two divisions to help defend the soldiers positions and get them out.

As the sun rises while the artillery fire is heavy the 7th infantry division moves in through the forests. The division had fought earlier in Belarus in the very dangerous and forested frontline. They are led by the talented Kalinin Ilya, who's experience and teachings of guerrilla warfare has made his division strong and unpredictable. The division moves smoothly. Not a single enemy unit, artillery fire nor patrols sees or stops the divisions movement and once the enemy did it was too late. Over the hill where the tired and wounded soviet soldiers had defended a small fortification, a powerful war cry could be heard. "URRRRRRRA!"
The war cry was so powerful and so terrifying the enemy began to shiver in fear. Then down the hill came the charging 7th infantry division. It's bayonets were sharp and it's men brave and unpredictable. The enemy still shocked from the sudden attack had a hard time taking aim. The enemy trench was then overrun by the division as close. Meanwhile at the fortification the wounded soldiers happily handed over the plans to Kalinin Ilya who then sent the soldiers to the military hospital in Moscow. But the enemy was also now in retreat and it could easily be taken advantage of. So the 45th cavalry division was sent to take the land left by the retreating army. Now the plans were secured and the command could once again focus on the entire front.

El haluf wrote:[CLAIM] El Haluf pushes onwards along the Mexican Gulf

After meeting the House of Nobles in Hispaniola, Chairman Lucero wasted no time in ordering his airship, The Rocinante to the frontlines of the Mexican-Halufi War. Lucero felt confident in his airship as he is escorted by five other airships that are similar in structure but more built for military purpose, as all of them sport 3 small aircraft within its hull, as well as multiple machine guns around the gondola (ooc: I know it sounds like fiction, but I swear to god just search flying aircraft carriers in google and you would know).

Fortunately, Chairman Lucero landed in the city Tehuacan without encountering any dogfights. He was met by the Halufi Supreme Commander of Dominion Forces, High Marshall Emilio Qarth. As soon as he greeted the Chairman, they hurriedly went inside the forward base of operations. Chairman Lucero ordered a deadline of three weeks to conquer Mexico, or the General would face extreme reprisals.

Either emboldened by the terror he gave or the inspiration as their country's leader, the presence of Chaiman Lucero emboldened El Haluf's soldiers and commanders push onwards deeper into enemy territory, even going so far as to ferociously seize the defensive formations of Mexico located in the Sierra Madre Oriental.

They secured key objectives, like Mexico City and Monterrey. Casualties, however continued to mount as the end of the week saw 24,000 El Halufi soldier die. Reserve Foreign Legions were brought in, but the push continues onwards to conquer all of Mexico.

As the El Halufi military make their way and courageously conquest Mexico, they are met with a very bad case of Malaria. The disease kills 300 of their troops and risks the effectiveness of their entire engagement.

What is your response to this news, as you open the newspaper.

"300 Soldiers Dead As Malaria Takes Toll of Dominion Military".

"I don't know why I should be concerned. They can be just categorized as casualties of war, am I right?" Chairman Lucero said while sitting in a made up office, in a tent set up behind the frontlines of the war as he read the Headline aloud while High Marshall Qarth sat in front of him, poker faced. "Great Emir, this disease is taking a lot more of our soldiers than the Mexicans do. What should we do?"

The two leaders pondered for 20 silent minutes before Chairman Lucero banged the table in excitement as he had a Eureka moment. "Ever heard of bug sprays?"

And then there was an awkward silence... Why did it took the two leaders of the great El Haluf Dominion to think of that solution?

General Qarth broke the silence by clearing his throat and said "very well sir, I will contact El Haluf's manufacturers to make bug sprays for our soldiers."

It really sounds so stupid. "Just get out of here and win me the war". And so he did. El Halufi soldiers, equipped with flamethrowers and essential oils of chamomile, oregano, and lemongrass, that are guaranteed to stave off disease carrying mosquitoes 100% (restrictions apply), traversed the Mexican jungles more confident than before. Casualties dropped among the ranks by almost 60% after a week of using those equipment. Journalists in El Haluf now calls the conflict The Mosquito War and calls Chairman Lucero "The man who saved the country from mosquitoes." Meanwhile, El Haluf payed Mexican doctors and even captured Mexican medics to aid the sick and dying Dominion troops, and ensured them that every one Halufi life saved by doctors is one Mexican POW freed from prison.

Gene Travels to Canada

After reaching the West Coast, Gene left Portland for a resort in the Cascades before his move into Alaska or Canada. In the meantime, he decided he would take some time off to relax. The McKenzie River Mountain Resort, the place Gene was staying at, offered much to do. This place was particularly interesting as it was one of the only places in the nation with the newly introduced television.

Sitting in his room on a rainy night, Gene was watching the news when the fire alarm went off. He sat up out of bed and put on his shoes, grabbed an umbrella, and rushed out of his cabin. He looked around the trail his cabin was situated on and saw no sign of fire. Continuing up the path, he crossed onto the path to the main lodge and walked further. As he approached the main lodge, he saw a faint light and began to feel the heat. Gene finally saw the burning husk of the main lodge and a small group of what seemed to be British Columbian Royal Guards relishing in the sight of the fire.

The Royal Guard turned to leave but stopped at the sight of Gene. One of them slowly reached for their pocket and pulled out a small revolver. Frightened beyond belief, Gene impulsively dashed into one of the nearby vacant cabins with the Royal Guard in pursuit. He slammed the door and quickly locked it as he jumped through the back window. Running through the woods, he fortunately escaped. However, he would need to get back to Portland because they would not let him get away so easily. Gene quickly changed into a suit and packed his things before dashing to his car.

Two Weeks Later

Gene had finally packed his supplies and boarded the Cascadian Queen, a small ocean liner. Behind him, 500 military members boarded too and each went to their respective cabins. Gene went to the cafe to get a slice of coffee cake. As he sat, consuming the delicious treat, the ship set off for Vancouver.
